    Thanks Law, great overview. I really like the smaller size and convenience features over the Vulture. This was exactly what I was looking for in a solo salvager.

      turn real quick non-convenience when start want over load it.idk was bit disappointing design. i would make it bit bigger (example double) and give 1x reclaimer head and call it medium solo salvager

    All the reasons you gave that make the Vulture a hassle is why I didn't get it, but the Fortune really is a winner for me after this video.

      Got both and the vulture is far superior in every way. The " convenient faster loading " is vastly slower when unloading, it has 1 opposed to the 2 salvage heads the vulture has so its much slower at scraping too. To the point you can make 250k an hour with the fortune and 350k with the vulture and tbey are both the same price point!

      @@matthewkaye722The Vulture may not fit in a number of hangars, though. Depending on use case, this could be valuable. Either way, that's a disadvantage to a Vulture owner. I like both ships, but lean to Fortune based easier hangar access in future ships like the Odyssey, etc.

    I really like the Mis(c)Fortune. I always hated having to get out of the seat to move boxes, and this solves it. Yes, I could move boxes into the ship and max out as much as I can, but I'd rather spend time scraping and fracturing, fly back to a station, dropping off what I collected, repeat a few times, then taking a cargo ship to sell my fortune (pun intended). Plus, this ship completes my Misc industrial collection with the prospector and the hull series (CIG please release the Hull B)

    • @Flufficatfish

      @ shhhhh that would make the vulture more convenient and thus, better. We have to wait until AFTER the Fortune sale to see that update

  • @hirofortis

    its a little harder to get stuff out of the fortune vs the vulture, but I really think the overall design is better than the vulture. I don't mind spending a little longer scrapping for the convenience and speed of printing. I think it may actually be faster since printing is done at twice the speed.

    • @TheRhysStreams
      @TheRhysStreams 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      The vulture is just a straight up better version of a salvager. The only advantage this ship has that's of any importance is printing speed, and that's ultimately pretty unimportant. Vulture scrapes faster, holds more realistically. Actually fully filling the fortune is so ridiculously annoying that no one is going to do it. It takes maybe 3 minutes to jigger around the vultures storage full, it involves space walking in the fortune. Interesting release strategy of "vulture but worse".

      @bolla999999999 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It really is not harder to get things out of the fortune. You park it with the ass twords the elevator and then you just lift the boxes over the vtols.

    • @Gubers
      @Gubers 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Better is an interesting way to look at it. The Fortune design is lazy IMO. The Vulture is clearly a purpose built ship. With those big arms producing the fracture field and all. The Fortune looks like a prospector with a Salvage arm glued on the front and two headlight looking things that are supposedly the fracture field generators? Really the only well designed aspect of the ship is the automated storage system. But at only 12scu seems kind of pointless.
      I like the the lol of the ship and it’s understandable if you hate Drake aesthetics. But vulture clearly the better design. Just needs an automated eject system.

    • @hirofortis
      @hirofortis 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@Gubers well the vulture also has 12 scu grid. so thats the same. fracturing is pretty uselss at that size of a ship, vulture or fortune. Honestly one of the best combos for hulling is a hull A + vulture as a two man team as a small duo

  • @GraphiteDev
    @GraphiteDev 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

    The fortune is not faster, in any aspect (especially when unloading beyond the grid). Timed both with same scraper heads solo and then offloading with a friend. The difference is even more apparent when offloaded with a friend and group play (Vulture pulling ahead by hundreds of thousands per run). And the interior storage on the fortune, don’t do it - you’ll spend half hour trying to EVA out and back in one box at a time and trying to squeeze them through those doors - defeating the purpose of the “convenience” selling point.

    Looks interesting, so I used a Prospector Lti to CCU to. I also have a Mole, so no loss. Only problem now is getting into the game, which after a patch to fix a patch is totally fecked. The manual element of the Vulture was the one thing that stopped me keeping it.

      Hope you don't regret it. I just tried it out and it was miserably slow scraping the hull. It took me longer to scrape one panel ( a big bent one) than it normally takes to fill the hold with RMC in the Vulture. Hands down the vulture is faster and faster is better if you're trying to make money. If you like a fine point pen scrape , then this tedium can be perfect for ya. I am 100% sure I will out earn anyone in the Misfortune with the Vulture because you'll still be scraping as I return from offloading a full haul. I hate this because I wanted this ship to be at least on par with the Vulture. Now my fear is they'll nerf the Vulture to a slower scrape speed and force you to only use the cargo grid. LOL

    I would be interested to know the difference between a full cycle of salvaging between Vulture and Fortune. By that I mean, time to fill the salvage buffer and transfer 12scu to the hold and refill the buffer in the Vulture vs the same in Fortune. I have a feeling the slower scraping time is to balance against the time spent going down and unloading the buffer in the Vulture.

    Frankly, I prefer the Fortune to the Vulture, and THought the Fortune would have less internal and overall less cargo, so I'm a bit ssurprised it can carry more than Vulture? (I mean, I have seen people put a LOT of cargo in the Vulture). Both can act as a ad hoc thauler for early hauling missions too, though the Fortune is very slow (I hate how CIG is really making MISC ship RIDICULOUSLY SLOW, like this and the Starlancer! I mean, I get teh Starfarer being slow but... Really? Anyhow, I do like this ship regardless. I am not lookjing for maneuverability, and it being a slow to maneuver makes it better at using the ship itself at aimign when salvaging. I agree, Salvaging is pretty Zen, and relaxing, and not having to get up to clear the buffer is nice. Yeah, You may have to get up a couple of times to bring in cargo from the exterior grid into the ship, but, if you don't, and use the interior to collect components and guns you pick off ships.... I think its pretty good ship. Otherwise, I'd find it a bit tedious to off-load. and it being a $5 USD upgrade from a Prospector with Warbond, not a horrible deal. so, you can upgrade to Prospector and then use $5 (a McDonald's meal) to upgrade to a great money making ship! Also, I imagine when in game purchase/rent, it will rent as much as Prospector does now, and it will be a better money making option than the maining ship. A little fleet of a Fortune, Prospector, Expance, and maybe a Hull A or Freelancer would be a NICE money making fleet! All ships that a player with a starter ships could Easily work its way to by Renting a Fortine, then Purchasing the other ships with the profit from Salvaging!. Good deal1
