- In this Star Citizen 4.0.1 gameplay video, we check out the new MISC Fortune, a salvage ship. I take it for a test run to see how much money we can make by salvaging panels. Plus, I share my thoughts on the MISC Fortune and how it stacks up against the Drake Vulture.

I hope you end up feeling better man! I’ve recently got into it (unfortunately XD) and I’ve been battling in what I’ve really wanted to do. Your videos have helped me get a good grasp on the multi jobs that there are. They’re genuine gameplay, not fakish like most out there. You show the process, bugs you encounter, and all. So thanks for that, I love your videos, and you man o7
nice video.😊
you need to put the abrade in your backpack 😊
I can't wait for 25th century technology to invent staircases
The 400i has stairs. Elevators are more handicapable I guess
Great video. Could you make a similar one with the prospector?
When its same price as Vulture it means its dead on arrival
Hope you feel better soon.
Awesome content, Fortune looks not bad too.
"licked my plate clean"
Take my 'like'
I like the ship but I see no reason why cig wouldn't let it hold two scu on the outside like the hull series
Press ‘G’ to activate gimbal for the salvage head. Then you can use the mouse to sweep the beam across the panel surface. It’s much better than using ship thrusters to move whole ship around to scrape panels.
Also go get the Abrade salvage head. It’s much faster to collect RMC. It should not take 2 hours to do a run even in this ship. With Vulture it takes me 40 minutes to do a full run from station back to station and unloaded in Pyro. Takes about 45-50 minutes from CRU-L1 to Orison. I make about $500k/hr on average with Vulture. Should be able to hit 400k/hr with Fortune but I have not tried it yet.
I wish the outer cargo grid could fold out like the Hull-A. Then you could have 24 exterior grid storage with 4 on the elevator. Still not as much as the vulture if you’re comparing max loads off-grid, but it would really tie the Fortune to the Misc design language
I think you could POSSIBLY get 4 more SCU in that back cargo hold.
Pull up the 4 on the elevator and go into the side door. Go to the back, and for sure you should be able to put 2 more side by side between the ones on the elevator and the door. MAYBE you can stack them up, which would let you get 4 more boxes onto the elevator platform.
Yes, you can probably get more boxes inside the rest of the ship, but that's a pain in the ass
Thanks for the video and get well soon!
so I find 8,000 scan return is one full load for the Fortune with 4 scu put in the rear cargo grid (29 total load)
You can load more inside the ship
Where do you all usually salave in Pyro & Stanton? Been trying to find good spots
dont you have a gimble for the scraper? in the vulture this makes live much much easier.. there should also be a shourtcut to desintegrate the pannels not shooting.. dont remember it anymore, cause it doesnt bring enough money..
yes and of cause the abrade... by the way... in vulture you got 2 scraping heads... is this now two times slower?
Will come in very handy when i can feckin play this trainwreck of a patch. Just a bit nigled by the state of the game after playing with little hassle over xmas, hats off to the devs, dont envy their workload, yet do fully support them overall, gonna be a next level game when they give us an exceptable level of stability and performance. Kudos
I remember getting the same trespassing message the other day when visiting Cru-L1 . Not sure why, probably a bug
Thank you for the vid.
And as i thought ...
HARD FCUK NO!
I'll keep rocking my dope hotrod looking vulture.
39 scu in 30 min or less while sipping tea and eating cookies.
I think the proper way to compare it is to look at how much stuff can you stuff without inconveniences. Which means 25 SCU; 2x6 on the outside and 13 in the filler. Perhaps the two ejectors can also hold on to 1 SCU each; upping it to 27 SCU without leaving the seat. But let's take it to 25 SCU.
On the other hand the Vulture needs to do the tetrissing. It can easily carry over 22 SCU off-grid plus 13 SCU in the filler. Something like 35-39 SCU's in total.
How much time does a whole Fortune trip take? Leaving the station, flying to location, scavenging, returning and unloading everything on to the elevator?
How much time does a whole Vulture trip take? From leaving the station to having fully unloaded the 35+ SCU's on the elevator.
If we take 35 SCU's on the Vulture versus 25 SCU's on the Fortune then the Vulture can carry 40% more. Thus a Vulture trip should not take 40% longer in order to be more profitable. For example, if the Fortune trip takes a whole hour, then as long as the Vulture takes less than one hour and 24 minutes, then the Vulture gets more aUEC per hour.
On the other hand, I think Vulture outings are a bit time expensive. Less time would logically mean taking home less cargo.
So it's not really more efficient than the vulture if you want to take advantage of the lift storage, you still have to leave the ship
Anyway of turning off that feckin bright light above the hud, its so glaring and immersion busting, gave me a headache after 2 hrs?.
Has anyone tried the trawler head(?), the big inefficient one in any case? I think that should be it's default head, and perhaps the rmc system should be a little more MISC proprietary and use 2scu boxes, resulting in a slight adjustment to the ejection system and it's orientation.
Isn't there a binding for 'jettison cargo'? Seems like an opportunity to just fly over and shed cargo boxes near the lift😂
I like the jettison idea!
Can’t you put more rmc in the hall way?? Vulture is 39scu on a run , vulture is way to go
You can, it's just tedious
Put the fortune in a Polaris and you have unlimited boxes
When i can actually get into the game i can make over 320k per load on average
nice video
kinda sick of CIG releasing patches that just break the game. their testing environment isn't very good if it only works well in PTU
We’re literally Alpha testers… How is it “sick”? They’re developing this game and giving us access to those builds. It will never be a smooth AAA game experience until the game is actually released.
CIG needs to do all the free fly days and events on the PTU to get players to go on the test servers to actually load test the builds properly. No reason for people to play PTU so the pop is low on them which means patches will never be properly tested until they hit LIVE
To make this competitive with the Vulture seems like it should have been cheaper than the Vulture both in real world money and UEC. They need to make auto eject stay on so you don't have to fiddle with it, and perhaps even make it so players can manually stack the boxes 2 high for a total of 24scu on the outer grid. Considering we all know people are gonna put boxes in the hallway they should even just add cargo grid to the floor in there just to make things nice and stable. Otherwise, I'm actually really looking forward to owning one of these when I can buy it in game.
Can't you break them down further?
