Hopefully Taryl would get the tracks too, that would be more awesome, he’ll have two sets of wheels, some for off-road and some for sand/water, minus well to have the tracks for all-terrain 😅😅😅😅

You're right about fiberglass burning, Taryl. I saw a Chapparral Ski boat that had been sunk below the surface of Lake Powell out here in AZ, now exposed because of drought and lowered water levels. It had burned then sunk but holy cow, the thing's hull had burned clear to the waterline...YIKES!
THAT Briggs throttle kit is what you need for most factory Go Kart and Mini-Bike setups. It's what utilizes the governor throttle control. If you bypass or remove the governor, you can hook a throttle cable directly to the carburetor butterfly. . .
Best battery tender charger is ctek, they charge and then monitor the battery. When the battery reaches the correct voltage it stops charging and watches the voltage. When it drops to low it charges again. Unlike those battery tenders that supply a constant amperage and cook the battery.
Clutches maybe for turning? Different wheel speeds so you dont bust axles. Those things are really cool. Guy in my neighborhood had one when I was a kid. Banana Splits!
I love watching you guys!!! How many years have you been working on small engines and stuff? I am just blown away by your knowledge!!! Awesome content!!!
Love your videos Carol I'm a huge fan. The only problem I see with the battery box is the frame that you welded won't accept a bigger battery so it really doesn't do any good to have the adjustable tie down.
My Scrambler (not currently operational) has 3-bolt hubs with 2 (each) roll pins rather than cotter pins and had the old balloon tires (molded to the rims). I'll have to punch and/or drill out the seized pins and make new hubs in order to put more modern rims and tires on. This one also has the front tank as mentioned in part 1.
had a friend who had a heavily modified Flat fender CJ with a buick V6 and paddle tires. They had a second house in northern minnesota. Nice upgrades Taryl! You sure like to tinker...improve on the existing! Probably one of the reasons you are so good at your business. Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Slow leaks are fine, long as it's not gushing in/out. a Small 12V bilge pump would be ideal though, if you were out on the lake fishing for a few hours
@@grumpyoldirishman313 thanks for info. I still can't pic it being better. I would think it would be better other way no matter the terrain. Have a blessed day
in thee olden days of points ignition on cars when 12 volts batteries became common, the coils were 6 volts with a ballast resistor. Te 4th terminal was a ballast resistor by-pass to give a hotter spark for starting. ! volts would burn out a coil in continual usage, hence the 4th terminal system.
If there was a way to to hinge the front so you could flip the top cover forward for access to the engine similar to a snowmobile hood. Also I hope they are able to reproduce some of those vintage beach photos from the brochure.
Given that this buggy can be used in swamps or streams, I would drill some big holes in the sides of the old battery box and install a bilge pump in there. Just in case of future leaks!
Just a thought about placing the battery just below the gas tank... I've had positive and negative battery cables cross and nearly start a fire and it was inches away from the gas tank. Just my $0.02.
I'd be curious to see how the tires that are on it now would perform if they were swapped side to side. I think they are on backwards.. directionally speaking

Put hinges on the seat so you can tilt it forward or backward. Put a spring loaded latch to hold the seat in place. Build your own storage box to fit under the seat to hold extra spark plug, took kit, quart of oil, couple of empty oil bottles full of gasoline, etc.
I had argos back in the 70s and they had 2 pins holding on the hub like yours and they were shit!! When the tires went rolling by fast then you most of the time throw tire in back as the axel were pin fitted broken off so need another axel good luck with yours maybe you need to think trying the spine type that argo uses and rims are easy to get if needing rims I must have 30 here

Awesome I'm building another one as we speak mine has a 7hp Briggs stick steering and pullstart only no headlights nothing base model super light weight mint original balloon tires too it's a model 1300 not sure of the year but steel gas tank in the front
Why not make the seat easily removable with hold down clips of some sort then you can have accessible storage under the seat. You could even hinge it either front or rear.

The two biggest diameter tires are supposed to go in the center on each side for easier turning on hardpack and pavement
I’m really looking forward to seeing those sand tires in the water and mud. I’ll bet they do great.
