I have to say that I was completely unaware that the Sheeran by Lowden Equals guitar even existed until I just saw your video here. I was watching TH-cam videos for the Taylor GS Mini-E Koa Plus as I just ordered one and was looking to watch other peoples opinions on it and to hear them play it. I will be honest I am surprised the Sheeran has gotten negative reviews, as I thought it sounded excellent in it's own right and I really enjoyed your skilled and beautiful playing. I actually went back afterward to listen to you playing both guitars again as I enjoyed listening to both. Like you said they have different shapes and are built with different tone woods so they each have their own individual voice. I only had enough $ to buy 1 guitar for the next 5-6 years and already went with the Taylor and I expect I will be happy with it once it arrives, but thank you for bringing the Sheeran to my attention and for sharing your thoughts, and for your performance.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have no doubt you will be very happy with your Taylor GS Mini. It's a lovely guitar. My Sheeran by Lowden actually seems to have improved a little sound-wise since I've had it and a friend really liked it when he got to play it the other week so, no, it's not a bad guitar. I do think they've overpriced it though.
@@DavidCarterVideos The lowden is priced where it is because mr lowden himself wanted to keep manufacturing the sheeran seires in the same place as the rest of the lowden family. Where as Taylor has outsourced the 100 & 200 series and most of the travel sized guitars including the GS Mini to mexico. If the GS mini was made in the USA it would be rather expensive. It'd probably be just a little bit under the new GT series they've come out with recently in price.
the gs mini koa sounds much better to my ears, it’s actually the only gs mini that I like 😂. The Sheeran isn’t bad, it sounds just like its cute snowman-ish form, more classical, very ed Sheeran.
I like them both but i wouldn’t be put off by the Sheeran headstock… It’s just a name like Lowden is too… I play a D-16GT but wanna try a Sheeran soon…
Yeah, some guitars aren't meant to be compared. It's just preference of the player. I just got the = edition and I love it. I only play small bodies because they are easy to carry around and easy to play.

@@choudclucker oh sorry mate 😃
Thanks for doing this comparison mate. Really want the Koa Plus 👍
Just got the Koa Plus. You’ll absolutely love it. I own 6 guitars and this is my favorite by far. Can’t put it down.
lovely playing and excellent comparison, well done!
Thank you for those kind words Matt.
The louden sounded more articulate and warmer, could hear the solid top. But both sounded awesome

Hi is the Sheeran the "w" shape or the"s" ?
It’s based on the W shape.
❤❤
I love it
Both seem like nice guitars but sound so different..neither is better in my opinion
