    I like the way not only how he describes each part of the product but also its durability.

    Well done!!! I have a Canik TP9SF with a tactical light strictly for home defense. I use this holster specifically for the range because of the tactical light not wanting to buy expensive holster just for the range.

    So I've used one of these for years going back to 2008 ish when I was playing airsoft and/or paintball on a regular basis. They work great and last quite a while. I've still got one that I keep with some bug out equipment around the house that is in excellent condition. One thing that always bothered me though about them was the way that they would move around while on the run and even after just walking around for a while. They tend to get loose and wobble around on your leg. The fix for that was to have the holster ride as high as possible on your leg while still being able to access your pistol while wearing your kit. Rob Pincus has a great video with explanation about just that issue. Otherwise, these drop legs are great.

    I just bought the holster for my new Glock 17 gen 4, very informative helped out in setting up. Getting use to the new stuff, the holsters and gear I had and and used go back to my Army days in the 1970s. Some Dam cool stuff out there nowadays. . Good Video. Phil

    Thank you for the good show and tell on this holster. Another use is for those of us carrying when hunting if your state allows you to carry while hunting. Follows from the same idea that your primary is a rifle/shotgun.

    Just bought one and like it better than my old drop holster that's on a panel but I’ve found a flaw. The inside female retention snap on mine is so proud the the edge of my Burris fastfire 3 catches it occasionally. I haven’t worked with it much but if it continues to do that I might remove the snap and just use the velcro. The Burris is on a Model41 Smith that I’m using for .22 Two Gun ZSA shoots. Quality gear. Love it.

    I have the Molle version of this holster. When I first got it the gear snobs tried to give me grief about it because one it's not kydex and two it's condor. I just simply reminded them that if I "broke" it it could be repaired in the field with fishing line unlike their kydex. And I've seen plenty of rivets rust out and belt clips break. I've had this holster for three years it's great.

    Seems to be a nice holster. For open carry I prefer single attachment point ( on pistol belt ) leg and thigh holsters with attached mag pouches for my main pistol ( full-size Glock 21 .45ACP Gen 2, which is also my nightstand gun. CCW guns like Glock 23 are carried in a belly-band holster ) I generally keep pistol belts ( the military, green kind ) set up for various pistols with MOLLE compatible double mag pouches ( so I can run double mag pouches all the way up to the buckle, 2 double mag pouches each side of the buckle, by simply looping the MOLLE straps around the belt. If there is any flopping around, I fish and weave paracord along the back loops on the pouches and tie it on the belt ). It feels more natural and easier for me to draw my main pistol with it riding about mid-way on my thigh and my chest rigs and tac vests ( I don't run plates, rather carry that extra weight in ammo. My main rifles are my AKMs and they have long mags, So I went straight to the Russian vendors and got an ANA Vest Alpha chest rig and Spetsnaz tactical vest, 1 for each AK, which are Russian military gear designed and built around the AK. Sometimes run .308 military rifles like the CETME ) don't interfere with my access to pistols and mag pouches.
    It also saves real estate on my pistol belts for my KA-BAR, AK bayonet, G.I. waist duffel at the small of my back, etc....... I'm currently using a Phenix Gear thigh holster for my Glock 21. It's very similar to this, and more expensive. I don't like the buckle and Velcro slowing my draw since, if I'm open carrying and "kitted up", it would be in SHTF/life or death where fast drawing is very important. Is there a way to get the buckle near the top out of the way and keep the Velcro out of the way/keep it from engaging so I can use the button thumb break by itself? I am seriously considering this holster for some of my pistol belts and will buy some if I can get the Velcro and buckle weapon retention systems out of my way. I normally keep pistol belts set up for various pistols and store them with tac vests and chest rigs set up for specific rifles, shotguns, what have you.

    If you two-hand the holster, one on the firearm, full grip, and the left on the snap-tab, you can draw pretty fast if not, faster, with your off hand also being on the holsters snap-tab, you can also full grip the pistol faster while pushing out.

    I walk a lot of Condor gear and love it. I am not a fan of a drop-leg holster, as I don't have any personality or self-image issues, but I do like and use the Condor VT Holster. It has many of the features that your holster has. I have been walking this holster for two years now. I am a former police officer and this holster fulfills my needs. Thanks for a good review.

    One of the things you did not show is how to move the double retention strap for the top of the firearm. They are a pain in the ass at best. I do not understand why they would design that area where it almost requires a crowbar to make the adjustments. Other than that, I love the holster.

    This holster is okay if you just want something to simply hold your gun while at the range. But I wouldn't recommend it if you're planning on doing shooting drills and exercises that involve drawing and holstering your gun.

    • @tylerdibenedetto2641
      @tylerdibenedetto2641 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I worry that the retention straps will get between the trigger guard while reholstering. Kydex is the way to go, but this holster is not bad.

    I like the Holster that is front break away, that holster there you have to pull it up and out then up aim fire, the holster I have breaks away in the front magazine on the side so I can with one smooth motion draw the gun forward and up and fire before guys with Hollister like these can get there gun out !

  • @Aikano9
    @Aikano9 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got this for my all metal blowback airsoft 1911 replica. It disengages the safety and racks the slide about 50% of the time I holster it, and disengages the safety ~50% of the time I draw the BB gun.
    It *probably* won’t rack the slide of a real steel 1911 as the recoil spring is far stiffer, however I do think the problem of safety disengaging translates to the real steel 1911.

    • @thoughtsfromaidiot5928
      @thoughtsfromaidiot5928 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I used a very similar one and I had to put my thumb on the back of the slide to holster it.

  • @Warpetrie
    @Warpetrie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Nope, not for me, I'd rather spend a little more money for a safari land or a kydex made drop leg holder, or any holster for that matter. Nylon and Velcro really doesn't offer nearly as much retention as a molded kydex, or similar material holster, too many variables where the nylon, or Velcro could fail. I'd hate to do running drills and have your pistol fall out because the snap came loose or the Velcro came undone. granted, I've seen it happen with a kydex holster too, but it wasn't a level 2 retention holster as it should be if it's a drop leg...

He has laser pointers, then he has flash lights mounted, muzzle brakes, extended magazines, you name it he's got it and he found that this holster gave him the ability to change for all his different configurations.
    Not only that but, it's not like he had to drop a bunch of money on, let's face it after buy all the add ons to his hand guns, funds were no as abundant, and then there's the wife.

    Would it work for nerf/airsoft? You’re moving a lot in those, so I need to be sure my sidearm doesn’t jump out of my holster

      Het Speelkwartiertje Slaat Terug if it’s stands up to dynamic range work, it’ll stand up to airsoft easy

    would the holster be secure if i were to only use the leg straps and not the belt strap?

    Wonder if this would work for a Glock 34. Website says 5" barrel max, that G17 is 4.5", but the G34 is 5.3".

      The Daily Shooter same side as your shooting hand, opposite would be preferable

      I agree, however it's the same concept as keeping one inside of an admin pouch on your chest. More of an "oh shit" option than your first reload.
