Hey Rodney, I met you and your music in 1966 in San Diego when you were performing at the NTC (Naval Training Center). Story told was that you learned to play a harmonica with no hands while sitting in the outhouse. Part of the entertainment were the stories your group shared. Glad to see you are still around and having fun
I love and watch the Andy Griffith show 360 nights a year. The Darlings were a big part of it. I guess Mountain Wedding and The Darlings are coming are 2 favorite but love them all. I have the complete DVD set (second time around) I go to bed pop the DVD in that sits 3 feet away Munch apples and go back in time. The Darlings jumping out of the Hotel window by rope is priceless. Amazing instrument and singing talent. Rodney is such a down to earth person wish I could meet you. Love Brother from Ontario Canada!!!
Hey, Rodney. Thank you for restoring the Dillard Farm. I think about my Grandpa Stacy's farm, where I grew up, all the time. So many great memories of you and your family sitting outside and picking beautiful bluegrass music. I remember your Father dancing and playing the fiddle, your Grandmother living in the trailer next to the house, and just a great overall family environment. The Dillard Farm is very special to me and I'm just a neighbor, lol. Thanks again!
Hi Rodney. My name is Damien & I'm 25 & I've loved all your music especially Dooley from the Andy Griffith Show. It would be a complete honor to meet you some day. I hope you still perform live because I would love to buy tickets one day :)
Loved Rodney and the Dillards! Around 1968 saw them front for George Carlin at the Cellar Door in D.C. One of the best shows ever! Saw them twice there. Rodney had a little harmonica he stuffed inside his mouth and played. They told great stories and made great music!
This is a great bluegrass channel. I’ve always loved the Dillard’s specially when they were on the angel Griffith show it’s too bad that some of them have passed away. They’re really great keep up the good work, Rodney.

Wanted to say I looked on TH-cam at the songs from Andy Griffith. The Dillards “the Darlings” doing the various songs. I’m in my 70’s. When I was a young child, remember one of my grandmother singing some of these songs She was certainly a country grandmother. Specially remember Ole Dan Tucker, Hole in the bottom of the sea. We live in rural central-southern Missouri
Enjoyed your talents Rodney. Your a wholesome good hearted and down to earth fella. I wonder if you are the last of dying breed. A true good ole boy. Keepn it real Rodney, that woman's dancing with them shorty shorts,is lookin good
That's his daughter.
the Martin Guitar he's playing is probably worth twice as much as the Farm he's on.
Don't be daft.
@@lucasoheyze4597 on the contrary, I was being quite serious
@@jeffandersen7397 Even a Martin from the 1930s is going to be $10k max, the farm is bound to worth far more.
They would've been a good opening for the Grateful Dead
