One of my Favorite Shows Ever!! Saracen, Jason, Riggins, Landry, Julie, coach Taylor, Tami, Buddy, etc…everyone poured life into this show…it feels so real

I am beyond grateful this pod exists. FNL is legitimately my top 3 shows all-time. I've watched every season too many times to count. I want all the BTS stories and fun facts. Clear eyes, full hearts!!
Two of my all-time favorite shows - FNL and Parenthood - great first episode! I can’t imagine Saracen played by anyone else so it was interesting to hear that backstory. Looking forward to rewatching the show along with this podcast!

Watched the show for the first time just a couple of months ago because of something Adrianne Palicki said in an interview. Zach was always amazing. As was Kitsch. Hope they can get Jesse on as a guest

SO DOPE they're doin this podcast with Street and Saracen!!! I was HOOKED on FNL from the very first episode and am now rewatching it a 2nd time through. One of the many things that make FNL such a good show was the AMAZING cast and I can't wait to se them bring on more former FNL cast favorites (Can't wait to se Coach Taylor, Riggins, and Buddy Gerity on here man).

I’ve dug and went through a couple episodes in random order after finding y’all, I think football guy was in Wendy Woo HC Warrior for Disney. Came out in 06, was shot in NZ and has Andy Fischer-Price who seems like the guy y’all describe 😁😂 glad you got chose those Zach, you made Matt the character he was

There's also another FNL podcast with the actors who played Billy and Mindy Riggins. Haven't heard it yet, but I would imagine it's a solid show too.
@@YaBoy_Hamz I listened to the first two episodes Derek and Stacey did and I’m not much of a podcast person, I prefer to watch things like they did here. But i still really enjoyed it! It’s entertaining enough to not mind that you can only listen

There's just no way. I started rewatching it just a few days ago. Unbelievable.
I really enjoyed this. I finally binged FNL during Covid lockdown and fell in love with it instantly. So much so I immediately rewatched it. Looking forward to rewatching along with the podcast.
Six, Seven, and Mae. I love it! If they ever did a movie wrap up or another season, I'd love to see Mae involved.
I am binge watching FNL for a second time. I will be adding it to my regular rotation where I rewatch it every few years. Such a great show.

I absolutely love when y'all talk about trying to get others into the show, "it's not only about football!" I swear I have said that umpteen times to every friend I've tried to get to watch. None of my friends enjoy sports, or football in general... but every friend that finally watched, they loved the show!! Thanks for making such an awesome podcast to listen to. This feeling of nostalgia is incredible!

Hi! I just want to say that for me the reason why this show was so special is because of each character on it. All original characters made the show and the show would not have been the same if any of you were someone else. Zach, you were amazing. I would say one of my favs but truly all of you are my favorite.

I recently watched all the seasons of the show on Netflix and fell in love again. Can't wait to watch the show together again! Have fun!
Mae, hate to say it, but I was/am the number one fan. I was a 42 yo woman who learned how to torrent a tv show just to see the pilot weeks before it aired. My then teenage boys didn't know how to torrent back then. (I brought them up to speed. lol)
Friday Night Lights and Good Girls… two of the best shows NBC has ever had. Gone too soon.
In 2004, Van Brooks, a guy from my high school, had the same exact trajectory as Jason Street, a QB paralyzed forever from a bad tackle in his junior year. His school colors were even blue and gold!
Saracen was my fav. Thought he was just the sweetest thing in the world. So glad to have discovered this pod. One of my fav all time shows.

I didn’t watch this show until a few months ago. I loved it and it’s a weird experience watching it because the years the show takes place is when I was in high school.
Ooh, just finished this episode and I have CHILLS! So happy this crossed my recommended.
I could listen to y’all talk about FNL all day! I need like 5 hour long episodes! I became a fan after some friends gave me the season 1 dvd. I became such a huge fan after watching that I was an extra on that show for 5 seasons! I loved every minute of it and it’s been the best set experience! Y’all are amazing!!!
Oh yeah, and I’m rooting for Mae to meet with Taylor on this show!

Sorensen and Riggs were my favorite
So I don’t know if the hosts read the comments. But just in case, this is for Mae. And this will have spoilers for Parenthood. But my favorite scene was with you and Craig T. Nelson in the junkyard. The acting was superb for both of you. But more than that, his line about how all his grandchildren were his dream, and how dare you mess with his dream, IMO, summarizes what the show was about. Yes it is an ensemble of multigenerational families. But in my mind, the entire show was about Zeek’s dream. His childhood, his grandchildren. And at the end, his great-grandson. That’s why I think it was fitting, although sad, that Zeek died at the end. His dream had ended. Such a beautiful show.
Literally just rewatched the entire series this past week, hadn’t watched it since it originally aired.

Wow, hard to believe they didn't finish the series although most of the characters they interacted with fazed out. Vince Howard (MBJ) is easily a top 5 on the show. He and Jesse Plemmons have probably reached the greatest heights.

I have always wondered if Kyle Chandler's life mirrored what was happening on the show when he went to coach college football and left his wife and daughters back in Dillon, possibly similar to Kyle leaving his wife and two young daughters somewhere else while he was filming in Austin. Did Kyle move near Austin? Did his wife and daughters come often to Austin? (It must have been hard for him to be apart from them.) LOVE THE PODCAST!

This is really great! Hate to be super critical, but Mae Whitman is really taking away from the experience. This so-called "Superfan" hasn't even seen the entire series and her reflections are all about herself while taking away from the point of the podcast.
