I wish you could hear it in person Ray, the fans are way louder and your right, that sound! It wasn't my best maiden admittedly, but any flight you can land with no damage I'll take it. It did definitely look amazing in the air. Hoping to have many more flights and better video soon. Thanks my friend.
I subscribed when you were building it to see the maiden. The ecstasy of a successful maiden is like nothing else. I see a lot of model flying in person and on TH-cam, and the scrape against the hill will be the highlight of the year. Well done, hats of to you.
It was a little hair raising at times and if you look close you can see there is some grass hanging from that near miss before the go around. Fortunately there was no damage or issue and I obviously corrected that approach for the landing! Its hard to tell but that flying location isnt big enough for a jet of that size so it takes a minute to orientate the size of the Skymaster to the location. Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully there will be many more flights to come!
David as you know I'm one of the guys that has been waiting for this! The build series was outstanding. I have to admit, there were a couple of heart jumping out of my chest moments, but bro you got it sorted and down successfully. Outstanding man...so happy for you! Congratulations!
Not gonna lie Adam it was a challenge with our limited airspace at times. My trim switch for my elevator mix was opposite of what I thought and trying to get it trimmed correctly was a nightmare. Lol it was also 100 degrees outside which adds to the excitement. Outside of that the Schubeler fans had gobs of power and the jet handled even better than I could have hoped. Future flights will be better now that I've worked some things out. Thanks for the support my friend!
David sir, An amazing maiden flight indeed! Spectacular flight with such a large EDF jet in such a small area! That initial landing base to final approach over the hill was so close and intense I was freaking out lol! Awesome recovery and fantastic landing in that "carrier field"! The response after the landing was well deserved my friend! You're the "man, myth, and legend!" my friend! Two BIG thumbs up!
I have a long way to accomplish the man, myth legend status Fred but it was a good day! Definitely hairy in a few places but I'll take the win! Thanks my friend for the kind words!
I couldn't agree more che. Way to go Snyder. When it was hitting the tall grass. I I thought ohhh shit. But the go around was perfect. Butter landing too. Nice job bro 👏 👍🏻 😊
David, OMG!!! Words can barely begin to describe the excitement I feel for you right now, and that scream of victory at the end was definitely the cherry on this cake. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I truly wish you could fly that gorgeous beast off a tarmac runway, but perhaps you don't have a choice. I almost LOST IT when you came within inches of that hill on your first attempted approach!! Is it just me or was she a bit tail heavy? She seemed nose up upon takeoff and I think that with a little more nose weight, she might track with considerably better authority. Man I am so happy you got this one done and I hope you're doing well my friend. Looking forward to MANY more flights of this wonderful accomplishment. Tomcats....ANYTIME, BABY..... 🤙
Thank you so much, definitely had a few trim issues that I had to work through. Not a lot of space to work with at our field and unfortunately no paved runways anywhere. Sometimes you have to just make the most of what you have. Im sure future flights will be better especially now that I know what to expect.
Congratulations on the maiden David. I had the volume wide open enjoying the sounds of the EDF's on this beautiful day and was not expecting the ending, scared the excrement out of me 😂. Awesome job on converting the Skymaster 👍🏻👍🏻
My field is definitely not an ideal location for that big girl. But it's what I've got! Lol fly big or go home right? Thanks for compliment and watching, I appreciate it.
congrats!!!!!!! Subscribed when I first saw your build!!!! Please share more regaring the build and what is used in the plan! I WILL ORDER ONE MYSELF AND DO THE SAME!!!! (allready converted: FBJets L-39 (big), FBJets Mirage, FBJets Rafale, FBJets Eurofighter, Grumania ME-262, Grumania EF-2000, building Skymaster F-4 at the moment)!!!! Really great job!!! But by the way, the hill on the left hand side of your runnway is a little scary 🙂 Awesome!!!!
@@stephanbinder3829 yes there were a few hairy moments during that flight but I got it worked out. It sounds like you have done some big projects yourself. All the build details for mine are listed in the description of the build videos. Finding batteries is difficult for this one as maintaining the cg is a challenge and space is limited. Good luck on your F-4!
@@davidsnyder238 What packs are you using. Good advice regarding perfect power: ChinaHobbyLine, 90C Racing Series. The power of those packs is insane. But they are heavy... more than 6S can be manufactured by customer request, I allready have 7 and 8S packs. Yes, I prefere electric conversions over turbines 🙂
@@stephanbinder3829 the power system and fan setup is 14s, I'm using 4, 7s dingy graphene 9000mah batteries. That 3:30 min flight came down with about 35% of the batteries left. Those batteries aren't produced anymore. Because of the amp draw 8mm connectors have to be used. Also, battery placement is tricky. As big as that jet is there's not nearly enough room where you have to put the batteries. C rating is less important than mah rating and dimensions in this one. Also, weight isn't really an issue with this jet. I have about 12lbs of batteries in it and you saw how it flew. A half pound either way would make zero difference.
@@stephanbinder3829 I've often thought a helicopter style battery that was long would have been better for many reasons but no one would manufacture one that would fit in a mah rating that high.
@@davidsnyder238 I need to review your build videos regarding the packs... just read you are using 128 edfs... I think, they are to large... from what I saw on their page, 2x 120s (I am using eJets Jetfans only) should fit perfect... also in regards to the weight. what is the takeoff weight?
@@victorrcjets7660 who you calling a novice lol. Actually the gear are fine. I need to adjust the brakes though. And yes it can get slower, have to finish adjusting the flaps. That was the issue I had during flight
