@@wendybest828 typically my formula fed kittens only produce bowel movements every other day or every 3rd day. It's just harder for them to evacuate formula. I dilute my formula with a little more water than it calls for to help "loosen things up". I'm glad your babies got some relief!

I'm worried my found kitten 5-8 weeks either is constipated or has worms.. Tried this and nothing... It's stomach bulges more to one side than the other.. She eats perfect. I'm worried. I literally cannot afford dewormer til this weekend because I had an emergency this week that ate up all my funds savings and all... Can't find anything online.... I know it's cheap but I blew through everything on this emergency... Can anybody maybe give me some advice on diagnosis?
Its not working. Do you know how often a 2 week kitten should be going? She just meows nonstop and i tried doing it for 3 minutes. She hasnt gone since ive gotten her and its been 2 days
I want to say thank you. I had two 5 week old kittens that hadn't pooped in 5-6 days respectively, this method likely saved them (and us a very expensive vet visit)! I tried this method 20-30 minutes after their meal, paired with a gentle massage of the back end with a cloth towel dipped in hot (not scalding hot but like safe hot) water, got them to poop within 10-20 minutes. They may squirm and cry but for anyone that might run across this comment with a constipated kitten, please don't give up, this works!!
what i did to get a 3 week old kitten unconstipated was i put pumpkin and kitten and kyro syrup in his formula i didn't have money for the fed i tell you the next day it had diarrhea but it's shot that hard poop out so i guess people have different methods

@@piweazel hey. Does this work on newborn kittens. Im an orphan mom and Ive tried the wiping method and they are not pooping. Their mother died 24hrs before I got them and they have not pooped since their mom died.
@@jayleenebonaparte-primus6339 yes! Just do the massage with no water because their body temperature can drop too fast at that age. The method works best about 20 minutes after a meal.

We just rescued an abandoned kitten. We are bottle feeding him and he was not pooping. I knew he was constipated. Your video tutorial helped. He pooped instantly!! He is now warm, content, and fast asleep. Thank you so much!
@@theloudhouse122 don't give up! You got this! It can be a bit overwhelming at first. However, after awhile, you will not have to do this.I think we did the Triangle method for a bit until he got use to the formula.. We also did not do this method Everyday because it was just too much for his poor tiny, tiny body. First time ,Yes, like magic. It emptied him all out. Then after some time, if he was not pooing, we would try this method every 2 days or so or as needed. It really did get better with time. Just be gentle , stay calm (I worried a lot!), and go with your gut. Our kitten is now a month old. He eats can food, drinks water, and still is bottle feeding. He likes Pet Lac/ Milk formula that we get at our local grocery store (He likes the smaller syringe bottles).He is still very small in size, but he is doing so much better now. We are potty training for the litter box, and it is going pretty good.Funny, I was so proud of him on his first poo in the litter. With time, it will get easier. Best of luck with your rescue baby.
Thank you so so much. I just rescued a kitten (looks about 2-3 months old) last week. In all 30 cats we have this is the first case of a constipation. He pooped just tiny stools and they are really solid. We went to the vet and the doctor prescribed some kind of enema which helps a bit but he still only pooped tiny solid stools. We scheduled a surgery for him tomorrow but he already look a bit weak so I search for anything that can help NOW. Stumbled across this video and it worked though not instanly, he pooped a bit after each massage session and now his stool are getting softer. A huge thank you to you, miss, you just saved Breezy's life 😊 Also extra comment, to all you people criticizing her for not using gloves and doing it in the kitchen sink, f-ck all of you. We civilized folks have these things called soaps and disinfectants, maybe try that for once in your life. This woman is saving lives and you criticize her? Crazy.

Same situation with my new kitten! We found him two days ago and it’s been almost 48 hours, no poop. Peeing and eating a lot of formula but I’m waiting for the vet to call back. I will try this though!

You're very welcome! You are right, he was uncomfortable and unhappy with that difficult bowel movement in there, but they always feel so much better when they pass the bowel movement.
Between you and the Kitten Lady I’ve learned too much about un-constipating kittens just to not have a single kitten around LOL. The look on his face is like “the horror...oop, wait...the relief!”
This worked in a few seconds, my kitten was hurting badly. I’ve tried stimulating a few times and looking stuff up to see if anything would help but all I could find was going to the vet. This video was very helpful, it saved me and my kitten’s life!
I have a newborn kitten, someone left her in garbage, there were 3 but some took 2 of them We have waited till late night but her mother didn't came My dad said someone might left them on road and these kitten are seperated from their mother So I don't have any experience about cats and no one is ready to take her It's been 2 days and one night that she is living with us and she is just some days old that's why I'm feeding her milk and water only Sometimes in a day and whole night I'm keeping her in a cage with soft cloths and half of the just living her free in a room. But I have not seen heer poop or urine anywhere yet, maybe she do it in her cage but there is no bad smell at all. Her tummy is bloated and literally she is meowing like screaming, sometimes she sneeze, Shiver and lick clothes. Only after I feed her milk with syringe she calms down. Is there any problem? How to solve her bloated stomach at home? As I live in a remote area, it's jungle type and there is no vet here ,hardly one small hospital. Can you please give me some advice?
@@aisha_siddiqah kittens that young need to be stimulated to pee and poop, they cannot do it on their own. Use a warm/wet washcloth or cotton swab (toilet paper works too) and gently stimulate their groin and bottom. They should pee with every meal but poop may be less frequent. Keep them in a very warm place, 85-90°, as they cannot regulate their body temperature. Make sure they have the ability to move somewhere cooler if they need to though, we don't want to roast them. Ideally you take them to a vet asap if they're shivering and sneezing, I'd be worried they're dealing with an illness or hypothermia. I hope they're doing well and please feel free to reach out if you need more assistance.

My 1 week old bottle babies hadn't pooped at all since I picked them up from the shelter, even when they had been on lactulose for days from the vet and I had tried everything - rectal thermometer, slightly diluted formula, warm baths, etc. (they were straining and crying when I stimulated them so I knew they had to go really bad). I truly believe this method saved their lives!

Yes it is indeed working BUT you have to be VERY CAREFUL to what extend you will massage fragile and underdeveloped kittens. I did it today after 48h not pooping exactly because I also tweaked formula and wet food and my kitten very weak, (I foster him) almost died after pooping. It was devastating! The kitten was crying the poor thing at a point that went our of breath but I didn't stop. I will never do this method again unless there is comfort just like to your strong big kitten. WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THIS otherwise magnificent method indeed, to very weak and fragile kittens!

I found a kitten abandoned at a park 3 days ago. I took her home and I take care of her I was worried she that she didn’t poop for 3 days. I was about to go to the vet. I try to grow up 3 newborn abandoned kittens. Today are 5 days old, started constipating, this method worked to one of them so I need to keep on trying. Also agree with other comments that this was more helpful than the vet, it makes you wonder why these professionals didn't make any effort!!!

My 4-week old foster kittens hadn't gone in about 3 days, I was trying all sorts of things, from olive oil to gentle massages. Tried this twice on each of them and it worked!! Cannot put into words how relieved I am; 3 of their siblings have already died over the last week, they were very premature and had the flu, so I'm putting everything into these last two. We'll try it again tonight just in case there's more to come out, but I'll definitely sleep better tonight (between 4-hourly feedings anyway xD)

@@gabimatei800 I typically start getting pretty worried after day 3. Kitten needs to be able to evacuate their bowels, it can cause severe problems when they don't.

You're very welcome! This method has saved many of my newborn fosters. When my first newborn kitten fosters(fails, they are my almost 5 year old forever cats now) had constipation issues I found a video of a woman doing this method. It honestly saved their lives. I tried to find the video again a couple of years ago to share with a friend and couldn't find it anywhere, so I decided to throw this one together for her real quick and had no idea it would help so many...but I am beyond thrilled that it did! (I just wish I had changed out of my nightgown 😆. When you're a newborn kitten mom you run on very little sleep and I blame the nightgown on that😂)

My kitten hasn't pooped in 4 days :( her mom died and i have been raising her since she was 2 days old and she's almost 4 weeks(in 2 days) and I'm broke with no money so I really hope this works. I've tried a lot and she's a bit raw. Thanks for this info. i'll be back with an update if she goes. nope, still nothing... i'm going to try the suppositories tomorrow and see if that works. already tried the laxative and still nothing. i really love her. she's my baby girl. she had a flea bath and is warm on her heating pad now. UPDATE!!!! She finally pooped after so much effort. Tried thermometer, diluted formula, liquid formula, syrup, this method, but ended up using the clearlax, and baby suppositories(broke it in 4 pieces and used 1) and within 2 or so hours she finally pooped and it was soft. so try the BABY suppositories and cut it in half and cut the half pieces so you have 4 and use 1 and wait about 2 hours; it came out still partially formed(it said on the box it was fine) and if that don't work, try the Clearlax(Miralax) and use only 1/4 teaspoon(at the tip of the spoon) and they should go for you soon. she went almost 5 days.
Oh my goodness!!! I am so incredibly sorry that I have just now found this comment. TH-cam notifications are THE WORST! I am so glad you didn't give up and your kitten got some relief. I honestly have never had one get raw so I hate that baby was uncomfortable but being constipated can be deadly so getting that bowel movement out was vital. See, you’re the ppl on TH-cam who deserve awards, plaques & medals. No joke. I have 4-3wk old babies right now & 2 are great poopers. 2 are not. I’m still tweaking their formula. Poor mom cat has avoided my trap every single time I’ve had appointments to get these feral/barn cats fixed that come thru my property.. & I usually have to wait about 6-9 weeks to get appointments for them & I’m only allowed to bring 2 at a time.. the area I’m temporarily staying in doesn’t have a community cat program so I have to pay a ton of money n it’s hard to plan which cats will be around.. obviously.. so one female has avoided me everytime & the poor thing has had 2 litters this year. It’s already cold as hell here.. she’s skinny as heck & when I found her babies I could tell she wasn’t producing enough milk n she willfully let me take the babies & ever since has been super affectionate w/ me.. so now that i can handle her, she’ll be getting fixed in 3 weeks… thank god!!! but yeah… these babies are adorable & they’ve brought a lot of joy into my life but gosh damn is it stressful when they’re having issues like this bc vets around me cost about $180 just to walk in the door, per animal.. & they’re 1.5 hrs away.. if I want to make appointment instead of emergency walk in.. it will take atleast 2 weeks… so you guys have no idea how much this video has helped these kittens & me. You just saved me from dropping hundreds on the vet & from these little babies being uncomfortable. It’s also super helpful to see someone actually do this & not just read someone explained what to do.. which is what I have kept running in to! I’ve rehabbed every damn animal native to the areas I’ve lived. Opossums, badgers, squirrels, raccoons.. I’ve raised & fostered so many kittens but somehow I have never bottle raised a litter before. I’ve always gotten super lucky w/ a foster mama w/ her own litter who gladly took on orphans.. which is ideal. But not this time. Years of working in the TNR/rescue community & never dealt w/ this before! So thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience! You’re a life saver! ❤

We have a little 2½ week old kitten who is constipated (it's been over 72 hours now). We've tried this method several times (last night and just now) with no success. I don't doubt it works, but we can't seem to get him to poop. He's still very active and happy, doesn't seem to be in pain and he's still peeing a LOT. I'm very confused and I'm worried.
I have newborns who havent opened their eyes, and have been doing top to tail stimulating them. They are drinking kmr and no solids, so is that the reason they have not pooped yet? Edit: just tried the triangle method, they only peed not pooped :C Edit 2: If I can't get them to poop by today or tomorrow I'm taking them to our local vet for a checkup
Formula fed kittens typically don't poop as often as kittens that can eat from momma cats. I always dilute formula with a little more water than it calls for because it's just too stout at full strength. I use 3 tbs of water per 1 tablespoon of formula. My formula babies typically only have a bowel movement every other day, but if it gets to be 4-5 days then it can become really dangerous. Sometimes this method takes a few tries and it works the best about 20 minutes after a meal. Good luck!
It’s because the mother wasn’t licking their bums. They can’t poop on their own. Or the kittens were put on solid food too soon. Or they were taken from their mother too soon. Dogs are the same, mother needs to lick to stimulate poop and pee
No. The kittens this video is more geared towards are the ones where Mom was killed and they are ORPHANS. Or mom was sick and couldn't care for the.. or mom went missing and some good human stepped in and became mom.
I found this Stray kitten 7 days ago and we only have given him milk all these days and nothing more.... He just turned 1 month 2 days old today, so he hasn't pooped since we got him....But we trained him to pee already and now he can pee on his own we don't have to stimulate for pee...although he's not pooping at all... He only pees everytime....Is it because we only give him milk is that could be the reason? I'm not sure about it.....And aside of that...He's always full of energy tho, he has good appetite, he drink water as well, he plays, he jumps and do everything normally...But he doesn't poop at all....So can you give some opinions about it...🙂 P.S - I even tried this Triangle method yesterday too for at least 5 mins right after 20 minutes after his milk feeding, but it didn't work either.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Our 19 day old orphan kitty had last passed poop on Sunday. But nothing since. I was getting so worried. Came across your video after the night feed and thought, I’d try it immediately. It was already 45 minutes after I fed her, nothing happened aside from her screaming. This morning I tried again, exactly 20 minutes after her feeding like you suggested. And it worked! She finally could poop again. Words cannot describe how relieved I am!!! Her cries were not pleasant (and made her big pitbull sister cry too), but she almost immediately purred after I had wrapped her up in a towel and cuddled her. I think I’m forgiven .... ;)

Gloves cause unnecessary pain because they tend to pull the hair of the kitten during the massage. I assure you I thoroughly clean my hands and sink after every session.

Hi! I’m pretty sure your method worked! my 7 week year old kitten was backed up for three days, I planned to take him to the vet but wanted to do this first, massaged him for 3-5 minutes (no water ) and 20 minutes later he took the biggest poo in the world. Thank you for this, greatly appreciated!

Question can I do this with a 1 week 3 day old kitten he pooped but it was very solid and hoping to help him poop again I started him on formula and the vet said try adding some Pedialyte to help hydrate him

@@wendybest828 typically my formula fed kittens only produce bowel movements every other day or every 3rd day. It's just harder for them to evacuate formula. I dilute my formula with a little more water than it calls for to help "loosen things up". I'm glad your babies got some relief!
Yes! Had to purrito my baby and massage for about a minute but it finally worked and she went after 36 hours of no poops!

I want to say thank you. I had two 5 week old kittens that hadn't pooped in 5-6 days respectively, this method likely saved them (and us a very expensive vet visit)! I tried this method 20-30 minutes after their meal, paired with a gentle massage of the back end with a cloth towel dipped in hot (not scalding hot but like safe hot) water, got them to poop within 10-20 minutes. They may squirm and cry but for anyone that might run across this comment with a constipated kitten, please don't give up, this works!!

what i did to get a 3 week old kitten unconstipated was i put pumpkin and kitten and kyro syrup in his formula i didn't have money for the fed i tell you the next day it had diarrhea but it's shot that hard poop out so i guess people have different methods

@@piweazel hey. Does this work on newborn kittens. Im an orphan mom and Ive tried the wiping method and they are not pooping. Their mother died 24hrs before I got them and they have not pooped since their mom died.

@@jayleenebonaparte-primus6339 yes! Just do the massage with no water because their body temperature can drop too fast at that age. The method works best about 20 minutes after a meal.

We just rescued an abandoned kitten. We are bottle feeding him and he was not pooping. I knew he was constipated. Your video tutorial helped. He pooped instantly!! He is now warm, content, and fast asleep. Thank you so much!

@@theloudhouse122 don't give up! You got this! It can be a bit overwhelming at first. However, after awhile, you will not have to do this.I think we did the Triangle method for a bit until he got use to the formula.. We also did not do this method Everyday because it was just too much for his poor tiny, tiny body. First time ,Yes, like magic. It emptied him all out. Then after some time, if he was not pooing, we would try this method every 2 days or so or as needed. It really did get better with time. Just be gentle , stay calm (I worried a lot!), and go with your gut. Our kitten is now a month old. He eats can food, drinks water, and still is bottle feeding. He likes Pet Lac/ Milk formula that we get at our local grocery store (He likes the smaller syringe bottles).He is still very small in size, but he is doing so much better now. We are potty training for the litter box, and it is going pretty good.Funny, I was so proud of him on his first poo in the litter. With time, it will get easier. Best of luck with your rescue baby.

Thank you so so much. I just rescued a kitten (looks about 2-3 months old) last week. In all 30 cats we have this is the first case of a constipation. He pooped just tiny stools and they are really solid. We went to the vet and the doctor prescribed some kind of enema which helps a bit but he still only pooped tiny solid stools. We scheduled a surgery for him tomorrow but he already look a bit weak so I search for anything that can help NOW. Stumbled across this video and it worked though not instanly, he pooped a bit after each massage session and now his stool are getting softer.

You're very welcome! You are right, he was uncomfortable and unhappy with that difficult bowel movement in there, but they always feel so much better when they pass the bowel movement.
Between you and the Kitten Lady I’ve learned too much about un-constipating kittens just to not have a single kitten around LOL. The look on his face is like “the horror...oop, wait...the relief!”
This worked in a few seconds, my kitten was hurting badly. I’ve tried stimulating a few times and looking stuff up to see if anything would help but all I could find was going to the vet. This video was very helpful, it saved me and my kitten’s life!

I have a newborn kitten, someone left her in garbage, there were 3 but some took 2 of them
We have waited till late night but her mother didn't came
My dad said someone might left them on road and these kitten are seperated from their mother
So I don't have any experience about cats and no one is ready to take her
It's been 2 days and one night that she is living with us and she is just some days old that's why I'm feeding her milk and water only
Sometimes in a day and whole night I'm keeping her in a cage with soft cloths and half of the just living her free in a room.
But I have not seen heer poop or urine anywhere yet, maybe she do it in her cage but there is no bad smell at all.
Her tummy is bloated and literally she is meowing like screaming, sometimes she sneeze, Shiver and lick clothes. Only after I feed her milk with syringe she calms down. Is there any problem?
How to solve her bloated stomach at home? As I live in a remote area, it's jungle type and there is no vet here ,hardly one small hospital.

@@aisha_siddiqah kittens that young need to be stimulated to pee and poop, they cannot do it on their own. Use a warm/wet washcloth or cotton swab (toilet paper works too) and gently stimulate their groin and bottom. They should pee with every meal but poop may be less frequent. Keep them in a very warm place, 85-90°, as they cannot regulate their body temperature. Make sure they have the ability to move somewhere cooler if they need to though, we don't want to roast them. Ideally you take them to a vet asap if they're shivering and sneezing, I'd be worried they're dealing with an illness or hypothermia. I hope they're doing well and please feel free to reach out if you need more assistance.

My 1 week old bottle babies hadn't pooped at all since I picked them up from the shelter, even when they had been on lactulose for days from the vet and I had tried everything - rectal thermometer, slightly diluted formula, warm baths, etc. (they were straining and crying when I stimulated them so I knew they had to go really bad). I truly believe this method saved their lives!

After trying several times, she pooped and also it's a normal poop, she pooped about 4 or 5 times but last week, she's didn't poop for 4 days and also didn't wanna drink milk so fortunately, she passed away last Thursday

Yes it is indeed working BUT you have to be VERY CAREFUL to what extend you will massage fragile and underdeveloped kittens. I did it today after 48h not pooping exactly because I also tweaked formula and wet food and my kitten very weak, (I foster him) almost died after pooping. It was devastating! The kitten was crying the poor thing at a point that went our of breath but I didn't stop. I will never do this method again unless there is comfort just like to your strong big kitten. WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THIS otherwise magnificent method indeed, to very weak and fragile kittens!
I'm nursing a 3 week (or so) old kitten and this advice has been a huge help. I'm grateful you shared this technique with us. The wee one needs all the help he can get.

I found a kitten abandoned at a park 3 days ago. I took her home and I take care of her I was worried she that she didn’t poop for 3 days. I was about to go to the vet. I try to grow up 3 newborn abandoned kittens. Today are 5 days old, started constipating, this method worked to one of them so I need to keep on trying. Also agree with other comments that this was more helpful than the vet, it makes you wonder why these professionals didn't make any effort!!!

My cat 10 yr I put warm wet towel on his A hole for a little bit,it stimulated him to go.It worked.Than I fed him a little pumpkin puree.

My 4-week old foster kittens hadn't gone in about 3 days, I was trying all sorts of things, from olive oil to gentle massages. Tried this twice on each of them and it worked!! Cannot put into words how relieved I am; 3 of their siblings have already died over the last week, they were very premature and had the flu, so I'm putting everything into these last two. We'll try it again tonight just in case there's more to come out, but I'll definitely sleep better tonight (between 4-hourly feedings anyway xD)

@@gabimatei800 I typically start getting pretty worried after day 3. Kitten needs to be able to evacuate their bowels, it can cause severe problems when they don't.

When my first newborn kitten fosters(fails, they are my almost 5 year old forever cats now) had constipation issues I found a video of a woman doing this method. It honestly saved their lives. I tried to find the video again a couple of years ago to share with a friend and couldn't find it anywhere, so I decided to throw this one together for her real quick and had no idea it would help so many...but I am beyond thrilled that it did! (I just wish I had changed out of my nightgown 😆. When you're a newborn kitten mom you run on very little sleep and I blame the nightgown on that😂)

nope, still nothing... i'm going to try the suppositories tomorrow and see if that works. already tried the laxative and still nothing. i really love her. she's my baby girl. she had a flea bath and is warm on her heating pad now.
UPDATE!!!! She finally pooped after so much effort. Tried thermometer, diluted formula, liquid formula, syrup, this method, but ended up using the clearlax, and baby suppositories(broke it in 4 pieces and used 1) and within 2 or so hours she finally pooped and it was soft. so try the BABY suppositories and cut it in half and cut the half pieces so you have 4 and use 1 and wait about 2 hours; it came out still partially formed(it said on the box it was fine) and if that don't work, try the Clearlax(Miralax) and use only 1/4 teaspoon(at the tip of the spoon) and they should go for you soon. she went almost 5 days.
Oh my goodness!!! I am so incredibly sorry that I have just now found this comment. TH-cam notifications are THE WORST! I am so glad you didn't give up and your kitten got some relief. I honestly have never had one get raw so I hate that baby was uncomfortable but being constipated can be deadly so getting that bowel movement out was vital. If it doesn't produce a bowel movement the first try, keep trying. I have also found that the method works best about 20 minutes after a meal.

See, you’re the ppl on TH-cam who deserve awards, plaques & medals. No joke. I have 4-3wk old babies right now & 2 are great poopers. 2 are not. I’m still tweaking their formula. Poor mom cat has avoided my trap every single time I’ve had appointments to get these feral/barn cats fixed that come thru my property.. & I usually have to wait about 6-9 weeks to get appointments for them & I’m only allowed to bring 2 at a time.. the area I’m temporarily staying in doesn’t have a community cat program so I have to pay a ton of money n it’s hard to plan which cats will be around.. obviously.. so one female has avoided me everytime & the poor thing has had 2 litters this year. It’s already cold as hell here.. she’s skinny as heck & when I found her babies I could tell she wasn’t producing enough milk n she willfully let me take the babies & ever since has been super affectionate w/ me.. so now that i can handle her, she’ll be getting fixed in 3 weeks… thank god!!! but yeah… these babies are adorable & they’ve brought a lot of joy into my life but gosh damn is it stressful when they’re having issues like this bc vets around me cost about $180 just to walk in the door, per animal.. & they’re 1.5 hrs away.. if I want to make appointment instead of emergency walk in.. it will take atleast 2 weeks… so you guys have no idea how much this video has helped these kittens & me. You just saved me from dropping hundreds on the vet & from these little babies being uncomfortable. It’s also super helpful to see someone actually do this & not just read someone explained what to do.. which is what I have kept running in to! I’ve rehabbed every damn animal native to the areas I’ve lived. Opossums, badgers, squirrels, raccoons.. I’ve raised & fostered so many kittens but somehow I have never bottle raised a litter before. I’ve always gotten super lucky w/ a foster mama w/ her own litter who gladly took on orphans.. which is ideal. But not this time. Years of working in the TNR/rescue community & never dealt w/ this before! So thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience! You’re a life saver! ❤

We have a little 2½ week old kitten who is constipated (it's been over 72 hours now). We've tried this method several times (last night and just now) with no success. I don't doubt it works, but we can't seem to get him to poop. He's still very active and happy, doesn't seem to be in pain and he's still peeing a LOT. I'm very confused and I'm worried.
Is he formula fed?
At first he's like, "I did not sign up for this!!" Then you hear the little "mEeWw" of relief and you know he feels better!

I have newborns who havent opened their eyes, and have been doing top to tail stimulating them. They are drinking kmr and no solids, so is that the reason they have not pooped yet?
Edit: just tried the triangle method, they only peed not pooped :C
Edit 2: If I can't get them to poop by today or tomorrow I'm taking them to our local vet for a checkup
Formula fed kittens typically don't poop as often as kittens that can eat from momma cats. I always dilute formula with a little more water than it calls for because it's just too stout at full strength. I use 3 tbs of water per 1 tablespoon of formula. My formula babies typically only have a bowel movement every other day, but if it gets to be 4-5 days then it can become really dangerous. Sometimes this method takes a few tries and it works the best about 20 minutes after a meal. Good luck!
It’s because the mother wasn’t licking their bums. They can’t poop on their own. Or the kittens were put on solid food too soon. Or they were taken from their mother too soon. Dogs are the same, mother needs to lick to stimulate poop and pee
No. The kittens this video is more geared towards are the ones where Mom was killed and they are ORPHANS. Or mom was sick and couldn't care for the.. or mom went missing and some good human stepped in and became mom.

I found this Stray kitten 7 days ago and we only have given him milk all these days and nothing more....
He just turned 1 month 2 days old today, so he hasn't pooped since we got him....But we trained him to pee already and now he can pee on his own we don't have to stimulate for pee...although he's not pooping at all...
He only pees everytime....Is it because we only give him milk is that could be the reason? I'm not sure about it.....And aside of that...He's always full of energy tho, he has good appetite, he drink water as well, he plays, he jumps and do everything normally...But he doesn't poop at all....So can you give some opinions about it...🙂
P.S - I even tried this Triangle method yesterday too for at least 5 mins right after 20 minutes after his milk feeding, but it didn't work either.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Our 19 day old orphan kitty had last passed poop on Sunday. But nothing since. I was getting so worried. Came across your video after the night feed and thought, I’d try it immediately. It was already 45 minutes after I fed her, nothing happened aside from her screaming.
This morning I tried again, exactly 20 minutes after her feeding like you suggested. And it worked! She finally could poop again. Words cannot describe how relieved I am!!!
Her cries were not pleasant (and made her big pitbull sister cry too), but she almost immediately purred after I had wrapped her up in a towel and cuddled her. I think I’m forgiven .... ;)

Gloves cause unnecessary pain because they tend to pull the hair of the kitten during the massage. I assure you I thoroughly clean my hands and sink after every session.

Hi! I’m pretty sure your method worked! my 7 week year old kitten was backed up for three days, I planned to take him to the vet but wanted to do this first, massaged him for 3-5 minutes (no water ) and 20 minutes later he took the biggest poo in the world. Thank you for this, greatly appreciated!

I tried this and it's not working with my kitten. He was meowing heavily and noisily as if uncomfortable. He's 2 weeks old and haven't poop for 2 days.
They do not like it, and if they haven't pooped in days then it probably hurts to push out the firm compacted poop. Keep trying!

Question can I do this with a 1 week 3 day old kitten he pooped but it was very solid and hoping to help him poop again I started him on formula and the vet said try adding some Pedialyte to help hydrate him

This happened because I tried getting poop so much, I inflamed lil bb's butt, he bled a little and I stopped for two days just to give it a break... the other two days was me trying again and obviously nothing came out... What if his bum is sore and irritated from straining and licking by the time we got him? He would not tolerate this without pain I don’t think.
