      I don’t think y’all listen to him he said those laws were made a long, long time ago when people owed a lot of property or land it did not take care of the places so people moved in and took care of those places. This is way before any phones and shit said everything was done by letter. But I can almost guarantee it was a Democrat.😂

      Kentucky has a castle doctrine. If you go to your property and you see someone in your home, you can ask them to leave if they refuse shoot and kill them. Then call the police
      The Castle Doctrine is a state law giving Kentuckians the right to use deadly force to protect themselves, other people, and their property.
      If you are a squatter I'd be very extremely careful 67% of its residents are extremely heavily-armed. 😊

    There is a reason you don't hear of many of these instances in rural Ky. I know of people who have such properties, they are located hours from any PD or EMT response. A person who is trespassing could find themselves.. gone. simply, gone. Before anyone shows up missing them.
    Have a nice day! 😁

      That is so true. My ex lives in his hometown of just a little over 600 people. He has a live-in girlfriend, when he dies, I'm sure she is going to want to stay there. She is already trying to talk him into leaving her the house. He is leaving it with our two girls. Our oldest says that all she has to do is give her a thirty-day notice to leave. I have a feeling that it's not going to be that simple because she has nowhere to go. Her own daughter doesn't want her. And she owes back rent to the housing authority in Daviess County, plus back federal taxes because her ex-husband owned his own business and owed back taxes. It's going to be a mess.

    Glad you asked . ACTUAL LEGAL CASE
    In a recent case - a man's mother was too old to live in her home any longer and was sent to a retirement home.
    The son - a grown man was going to rent the house. A person showed up to rent the house but the man refused her application.
    When the man left - she - the female applicant - broke into the house and moved in.
    The man called the police and sheriffs who said - take it to court.
    The man decided - 2 can play the game.
    He waited for her to leave and he broke in with documents from the property owner ( his mother ), having title , deed now a legal lease - and the squatter was then legally forced by police to leave the house.
    The way to circumvent the courts on eviction and adverse possession is to break into the property and trespass the illegal occupants making sure you have all your documentation in order before taking any action.

    You REALLY should make a video about how to secure your property. A lot of folks do not think about things like tearing down old buildings or having meters remove posting no trespassing signs. But sometimes a no trespassing sign will just encourage a low life type, but the sign does show a legal attempt to notify the public and is the first thing a police officer will ask.

      What you are saying is only true in theory. I'm 70 now and can tell you that this crap only started about 20 years ago. Before that, the cops would just toss the deadbeats out. I had friends who owned rental row houses in Philly. If the cops were called years ago, at best they threw out the squatters, and at worst, they just stood by laughing when your three huge guys would evict them. Only since Liberalism infected the legal system did the notion that a property thief had legitimate rights become inculcated into our culture.

But somebody literally kicks the door in and takes residence and refuses to leave and even has a shot gun and the nearest Sheriff is 20 miles away. That is a no brainer. You call up several of your buddies and tell them were having weekend at your place and every bring all the guns you want. Were gonna have some target practice. Were gonna shoot some skeet. You go up there about 6 am saturday and give them a shotgun alarm clock.

    This is a bit misleading. In Kentucky, a squatter has to have occupied a property. paid taxes on it, and made improvements to it for a minimum of 15 years before they have any claim on it. It's not like what we see in the news where people help themselves to a home one day while the owner is at work and the owner has very little to no recourse. If you have someone living on your property and paying taxes on it for 15 years without you knowing about it, a squatter is the least of your problems.

    Don't call the police on squatters, call the buddies. If (and when) police show up, dont EVER use the word "squatter." The home isn't "abandoned," we simply weren't home and these people broke in, so you defended your property. As long as all your people say that, the "not squatters" go to jail. Someone breaking and entering can claim to be Mother Teresa, but making that claim and proving it are 2 very different things.

    Squatter's rights, AKA Adverse Posession, laws have been around for longer than this has been a country. Like, since 2000 BC. Most laws in the US require them to not be sneaky about it (they need to be known and obviously be living there) and be paying taxes, and maintaining the property from anywhere from 5 years (Like Montana) to 20 years (like Oregon) before they can apply for the deed.

      @brianvandy4002 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4KindnessGal Not sure how you get that. It is part of the human condition to get as much as one can for as little as possible. Those attempting adverse posession often find it the only reasonably cost-efficient way to get property. For instance, if there is a piece of abandoned property in Montana with utilities, one could move in, pay bills, taxes, and work to improve the property, and in 5 years be granted title by the courts. Not sure how all of that can be deemed irresponsible. Don't get me wrong, there are scum who use laws to attempt to scam someone's property from them for free, but that is by no means all of those who can be termed 'squatters.'

    To me. To be honest, if a house is sitting abandon why shouldn't somebody just use it? This is natural all animals do it. One man's junk is another treasure!
    Use it or lose it!
    If your property is sitting not being used you're just lazy in the first place. Too many people who need housing.
    Houses we built FOR THE BANKS not for you! Once you FULLY REALIZE that things will be easier.
    Actually I think everybody should just stop paying for their land all together at one time all across the United States. They've been robbing the population since WW2 and it ONLY gets worse as time goes on.

      Here in Kentucky there are a lot of old falling down houses that are unsafe, that the homeowners can not afford to keep up, houses that can be 100 years old, usually children have inherited their parents property, where in the 1950's there were government loans to build a new house next to it, and they would just leave the old house sit. I have rented out places before and the squatter type of people, don't want to pay their rent, and destroy property becoming a liability, too often it leads to not being worth the hassle to rent. Often these houses are on the property where they live! So no, you can't just move in and take it!

    • @amr8457
      @amr8457 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pueblodove Of course! However, they're ARE a large majority of little who are willing to pay and work hard to take care of things. Just like here in Seattle there are a good portion of homeless who work and take care of things the best they can. But it's ALWAYS the bad images and experiences that primarily told people thinking. I just rather be a voice for those who are less fortunate who are on the side of good. then I don't condone taking things or destroying people's things. You always want to leave your environment better than you found it, or have no impact all. Even when trespassing! Lol. ;)
      Edit- and I've lived in the Pigeon Forge area for a few months and it was beautiful there! I love the scenery!

      Because someone owns this property abandoned or not. Some scumbag shouldn’t be able to take what is someone else’s, that is called stealing, at least it used to be.
      Can’t believe this even has to be explained.

    Solution:. Don't buy houses. Laws do not protect you or your property. Be a renter.
