The rosary is a powerful thing. one day , I had a job interview and i didn't think I did very good. The rest of the day was overshadowed by the bad things I thought I said. I picked up my rosary I bought a couple days before and prayed it. When I was done, all the bad things i said were far from my mind and to this day I don't even remember what I said. And the holy spirit reminded me of the good things I said and I and God ultimately got me on the job a week later. That was my first taste of the power of the rosary.

Great stuff! I've gotten back to praying all 4 mysteries each day. I've found that praying one decade at a time, spacing them out throughout the day works really well for me. It saturates my day in prayer. Sometimes I do rush through them, but other times I take my time and pause before starting a Hail Mary bead so that I can pray for someone. You mentioned the Fatima prayer being optional, but you highly recommend it. That prayer in particular for me has been really special. It's a reminder to pray for those most in need of Jesus mercy. The people that come to mind for me are the ones that hate the Catholic church or hate God. I pray they would come to know and love him. The rosary is beautiful, powerful, scriptural and given time will absolutely transform your life.
So heartening to read so many men in the comment section talking about the efficacy of praying the rosary. For too long it was considered a female practice in error.

I heard about that story,a priest on ewtn said when he escaped from Colorado he went to Florida when he got to Florida he broke in the girls dormitory and one of the girls had her rosary she saw a strange man come in to the room and then he left suddenly she's gives credit to the rosary he was afraid of it.

Truth. Most people have no clue as to how powerful a weapon it is in helping us to conform our lives to God's will. Even praying was beyond me before I started praying the rosary. The changes for me are nothing short of miraculous. She will inspire a desire for living a saintly life and infuse in you a horror for sin.
On "Holy Ghost" vs "Holy Spirit": I prefer "spirit," but the 1950's Catholic Bible and prayer book I have from the Chicago Catholic Press only uses "ghost" from what I've noticed so far. I noticed the use of "spirit" in the Missal.

I'm an Eastern Christian but I remember praying a decade of the rosary faithfully and I did not fall into a sin I was committing, on the sixth day, there wasn't much faithfulness within a decade, and I sinned. I have had a difficulty with badly made rosaries when the beads fall apart. Once I needed so much rest that I fiddled with the beads and it was hard to put back. Truthfully from experience, I couldn't dare sin wearing it. Except, as Eastern Christianity goes, I did reject it because I did want to reject Western Christianity as it had been dominant during my childhood and deal with more Eastern matters. The weak made rosaries did make the rosary fade from me.
I'm a purist when it comes to the rosary: fifteen decades as it was given to the Dominican order. P.S. The Fatima prayer comes after the mysteries not after the initial three Hail Mary's. Yer welcome

I also like to add the pardon prayer given to the children of Fatima by the Angel of Portugal. My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee. (said three times at start of the rosary). St Pio when asked about distraction during the rosary said continue anyway. God cares about our intentions. Before you start to say (paraphrased) Jesus I love you. Forgive me my sins. And try to stress the "Hail Mary" salutation at the beginning of each Hail Mary

How the Rosary Saved an Entire Squadron in WWII The following story from the second world war was recounted to Dominican priest Fr Gabriel Harty by a non-Catholic devotee of the Rosary from Canada. ‘It was May, 1940, and we joined the Air Force in late September. We were grouped into squadrons. About thirty to fifty men made up a squadron, along with the squadron leader who gave all the orders and kept us functioning in unity. They told us that we were going overseas and would be in action right away. We eagerly awaited our new squadron leader. As an officer he would, we believed, go straight to the officers’ quarters. However, this squadron leader, Stan Fulton, in full uniform, headed for our bunk house, where he settled in with the rest of us. He threw his bag on an upper bunk. Our squadron leader, an officer, sleeping here with us! We liked him at once and our liking and our admiration grew each day. That first night he knelt on the floor and prayed his Rosary in silence. Astounded, we were struck dumb. When he finished, he looked at us with his friendly smile and said, “I hope you guys don’t mind a fellow saying some prayers because where we’re going, we’re going to need them.” Next night, he repeated his prayer session. Although our group had been together for six months at least, I had never seen anyone kneel in prayer, and had no idea that any of our group was Catholic. The third night three of our companions joined Fulton in saying the Rosary. The rest of us did not understand, but we kept a respectful silence. We were weren’t slow however on the pick-up. Soon we were all answering the Hail Marys and Our Fathers. So, we ended each day in prayer. Shortly enough we were to begin a series of night raids from England over Germany. The evening before, Fulton gave each of us a Rosary. “We shall be in some tight situations, but if you agree to keep the Rosary with you and to say it, I promise you that Our Lady will bring you all back safe.” “Sure thing” we replied, little thinking we would be in action for four years, often in dreadful danger. At such times, Fulton’s voice would ring through each plane, “Hail Mary…”and we would devoutly respond! We must have said hundreds of Rosaries in the skies. Ours was the only squadron that had not lost a plane or a single life. We said nothing, but we treasured our secret weapon. We did survive, too. All returned to Canada in 1945, fully convinced that Our Lady had taken care of us. So I never forget to keep my Rosary with me and say it every day although I am not a Catholic. When I change my trousers, the first thing I transfer, even before my wallet, is my Rosary."

I heard about that story,a priest on ewtn said when he escaped from Colorado he went to Florida when he got to Florida he broke in the girls dormitory and one of the girls had her rosary she saw a strange man come in to the room and then he left suddenly she's gives credit to the rosary he was afraid of it.

Truth. Most people have no clue as to how powerful a weapon it is in helping us to conform our lives to God's will. Even praying was beyond me before I started praying the rosary. On "Holy Ghost" vs "Holy Spirit": I prefer "spirit," but the 1950's Catholic Bible and prayer book I have from the Chicago Catholic Press only uses "ghost" from what I've noticed so far. I noticed the use of "spirit" in the Missal.

I'm an Eastern Christian but I remember praying a decade of the rosary faithfully and I did not fall into a sin I was committing, on the sixth day, there wasn't much faithfulness within a decade, and I sinned. I have had a difficulty with badly made rosaries when the beads fall apart. Once I needed so much rest that I fiddled with the beads and it was hard to put back. Truthfully from experience, I couldn't dare sin wearing it. Except, as Eastern Christianity goes, I did reject it because I did want to reject Western Christianity as it had been dominant during my childhood and deal with more Eastern matters. The weak made rosaries did make the rosary fade from me.

St Pio when asked about distraction during the rosary said continue anyway. God cares about our intentions. Before you start to say (paraphrased) Jesus I love you. Forgive me my sins. And try to stress the "Hail Mary" salutation at the beginning of each Hail Mary

How the Rosary Saved an Entire Squadron in WWII
The following story from the second world war was recounted to Dominican priest Fr Gabriel Harty by a non-Catholic devotee of the Rosary from Canada.
‘It was May, 1940, and we joined the Air Force in late September. We were grouped into squadrons. About thirty to fifty men made up a squadron, along with the squadron leader who gave all the orders and kept us functioning in unity. They told us that we were going overseas and would be in action right away. We eagerly awaited our new squadron leader. As an officer he would, we believed, go straight to the officers’ quarters. However, this squadron leader, Stan Fulton, in full uniform, headed for our bunk house, where he settled in with the rest of us. He threw his bag on an upper bunk. Our squadron leader, an officer, sleeping here with us! We liked him at once and our liking and our admiration grew each day. That first night he knelt on the floor and prayed his Rosary in silence. Astounded, we were struck dumb. When he finished, he looked at us with his friendly smile and said, “I hope you guys don’t mind a fellow saying some prayers because where we’re going, we’re going to need them.” Next night, he repeated his prayer session. Although our group had been together for six months at least, I had never seen anyone kneel in prayer, and had no idea that any of our group was Catholic. The third night three of our companions joined Fulton in saying the Rosary. The rest of us did not understand, but we kept a respectful silence. We were weren’t slow however on the pick-up. Soon we were all answering the Hail Marys and Our Fathers. So, we ended each day in prayer. Shortly enough we were to begin a series of night raids from England over Germany. The evening before, Fulton gave each of us a Rosary. “We shall be in some tight situations, but if you agree to keep the Rosary with you and to say it, I promise you that Our Lady will bring you all back safe.” “Sure thing” we replied, little thinking we would be in action for four years, often in dreadful danger. At such times, Fulton’s voice would ring through each plane, “Hail Mary…”and we would devoutly respond! We must have said hundreds of Rosaries in the skies. Ours was the only squadron that had not lost a plane or a single life. We said nothing, but we treasured our secret weapon. We did survive, too. All returned to Canada in 1945, fully convinced that Our Lady had taken care of us. So I never forget to keep my Rosary with me and say it every day although I am not a Catholic. When I change my trousers, the first thing I transfer, even before my wallet, is my Rosary."
