The anime feels like a much more faithful adaptation to the LNs, even though the manga definitely hit more plot points. The manga gives me an impression like Cid is playing around literally the whole time and never taking anything seriously, which leads to the feeling that Cid is a bit of an idiot. So the BGM and excellent voice acting do a whole lot to help the anime feel more dramatic when it's supposed to be. Despite the fact that Cid is clearly a bit of an idiot.

From the way he jumped into the truck (like an idiot), the way he kept thinking it was role play for the first couple of episodes. I don't understand how this baldy thinks. Cid lasts against Oliver with minimal injuries and then proceed to bite off her jugular vein and baldy calls him a "lucky punk kid"? After that Cid unleashes his phenomenal magic while remains untouched by the magic draining effect, baldy still orders Oliver clones to kill him? If that was me I'd rather see myself out and possibly also show him the way out cuz I'm not gonna risk being vaporized
It's a common trait of every single member of the Cult of Diablos that they think they're completely unstoppable despite overwhelming evidence until literally seconds before they die. In the manga, baldy's reaction to Delta trashing his army of clones without getting scratched, and then Delta pissing herself in terror of Alpha giving her an angry look, was to think "Heheheeh yessss, I will arrange to kidnap Alpha and experiment on her like she was just another scared little girl! That will grant me so much prestige in the Knights of the Rounds!". They're all utterly delusional about their proper place in things, which is why it's so satisfying every time Cid or one of his girls gives them a reality check.
To be fair I think he understood that his only option was trying to kill him rather then run. By that point I think the Cult is aware of the sheer destructive scale that attack does and he knew he couldn't run away fast enough.
The first atomic - the visuals and sound blew me away. This atomic - visuals, sound and the lean in. That "sure you stabbed me but here we still are" gleam in his expression. That's badass.
Its a genius technique to get the audience (especially the english) to pay attention to the action. Have the main character call out the attack name in ENGLISH suddenly instead of japanese and say the final word in cursive
can we take a moment to appreciate that this guy Shadow, analyzed how magic was being consumed by the sanctuary, found a way to counter it by somehow "tempering his magic so that it's too solid to be consumed", and all within one episode
