      The BMW is complete trash…! The engines are full of plastic that heats up & breaks, BMW has used plastic all in an effort to lighten the car then the customer must pay to fix expensive motor repairs all because BMW uses cheap parts, and has bad engineering. The turbos often heat up parts in the engine that lead to early failure. Electrical failure is common on all BMW’s. AC issues are common, suspension problems are common, small parts fall off all the time. Build quality is shabby at best. Most that drive these dump buckets lease them because once out of warranty they can drain one’s life savings in just a few weeks.

    I own 7 BMWs currently. A lifelong diehard enthusiast of the brand! It is the Ultimate Driving Machine. However, I prefer the older models where the driver is in control of the car, not some sensors/computers on current models. But it is a sign of the times. I will always keep my older BMWs because driving them always put a smile on my face!

    I still don’t know how BMW does it with great handling. I know they’re rear-wheel drive. But what’s their technology and specific engineering that makes BMW’s drive so well. I want to know what kind of suspension and BMW specific tuning they do that make their cars drive beautifully.

    • @jdeday
      @jdeday  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      50/50 weight distribution between front and rear axles is one reason for the exceptional handling.

    Obsessively looking into tiny things. What about reliability? Plastics inside the engine constantly exposed to heat which causes electrical problems and leaks. Maybe look into that?

      No it was not. 2 plus decades ago Porsche did not have the line up it has today and BMW was the Ultimate Driving machine. Unless you had the money for a 911 you we’re buying a BMW. If you wanted a sports sedan you bought a BMW as there was no Porsche option. Even the SUV market saw BMW making models years before Porsche. To this day Porsche does not come close to the variety that BMW offers and certainly not at the price point BMW offers.
      Those of us who are adults remember when Porsche made one model and was almost out of business in the last 30 years.
