How are they better than traditional salmon flies used all over the world? The traditional salmon fly is characterized by excellent action underwater, resembling a fish. A good fly catches even the smallest movement of water. When viewed underwater while working, the Intruder looks flat to me, lacking the ability to glide and adequately respond to the changing water current. I don't understand what is so special about these flies that they are used for steelhead fishing 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

What’s you top fly for king salmon?
I’ve never caught a king of a fly they are super lock jawed once they are up river where we fish.

No you’re right, stiff traditional flies do have more movement. We just tie these because we like big things in America.
