I think it's a two-way street where Chelsea is naturally insecure, clingy and immature, but Jimmy's blatant disinterest is making it even worse. I found out recently that in their contracts they aren’t allowed to leave the relationship until the wedding UNLESS the production approves it or you pay a hefty fine. The contracts are interesting when you look at them, they cant tell their family before the leave to the show that they are doing the show, also there are other engaged couples that may have married you don’t get to see.

As someone who has, like, ridiculously low self-esteem and is great at convincing myself everyone hates me; while you should be able to turn to your partner for reassurance and support, there’s no excuse for behaving like this and demanding it so constantly, you need to be able to see when your fears are unfounded and find ways to deal with that yourself - or at least without approaching it so accusingly when the other person hasn’t even done anything. And, honestly, if that’s genuinely the mental state you’re in then you need to accept you are not in a place where you can be a good partner and not be in a relationship until you’ve been to therapy and worked on it. Because when all you’re doing is holding your partner hostage for reassurance they don’t hate you you’re not being a partner, you’re being an emotional leech. Part of having issues like this is knowing when to remove yourself from a situation you can’t handle. And yeah, I say with certainty that you cannot ever fix someone’s self-esteem issues. It’s deep rooted in things that have nothing to do with you, and it takes years of effort and therapy and work to try and tackle them, and that’s primarily down to that person. There are many people who point blank refuse to do this, refuse to do the work and choose to weaponise their trauma/issues/whatever against others. There’s nothing anyone but them can do about that.

This is all her. He validated her physically and emotionally, and she couldn't stop finding ish to complain and whine about. Her trauma isn't an excuse to act out. I'm willing to bet she had pushed many a men away with this. And frankly idk if I believe her excuses of trauma and being cheated on. She tried to accuse Jimmy if cheating, when he didn't, because she had to create drama. My ex was like Chelsea. Having to verbally reassure someone on a daily basis that you do in fact love them is exhausting. I would go out of my way to cook him dinner and pack his lunches, physical bedroom activities whenever the mood struck him, and it was never enough to reassure him. We eventually broke up because he was cheating.
The way Chelsea would start fights and beg for affection was like looking at my ex. I'm glad Jimmy finally had the strength to walk away from her craziness.

Sorry! I found with my ex that I couldn’t share my esteem with him and his low self esteem led to cheating also. Can’t fix anyone.
As someone who has, like, ridiculously low self-esteem and is great at convincing myself everyone hates me; while you should be able to turn to your partner for reassurance and support, there’s no excuse for behaving like this and demanding it so constantly, you need to be able to see when your fears are unfounded and find ways to deal with that yourself - or at least without approaching it so accusingly when the other person hasn’t even done anything. And, honestly, if that’s genuinely the mental state you’re in then you need to accept you are not in a place where you can be a good partner and not be in a relationship until you’ve been to therapy and worked on it. Because when all you’re doing is holding your partner hostage for reassurance they don’t hate you you’re not being a partner, you’re being an emotional leech. Part of having issues like this is knowing when to remove yourself from a situation you can’t handle.
And yeah, I say with certainty that you cannot ever fix someone’s self-esteem issues. It’s deep rooted in things that have nothing to do with you, and it takes years of effort and therapy and work to try and tackle them, and that’s primarily down to that person. There are many people who point blank refuse to do this, refuse to do the work and choose to weaponise their trauma/issues/whatever against others. There’s nothing anyone but them can do about that.

No, they can speak about how they look, it's mentioned a few times in the various seasons. Johnny and Amy also mentioned that they talked extensively about looks before first seeing each other. I guess the contestants choose not to because it would ruin the experiment.
