I think the main studio cameras, audio and prompters all went off line. All they had was the general overhead mic and the jib camera. But the show went on!
"I won't be surprised by any version of this verdict." --I believe that this jury has taken on their responsibility with dignity and solemnity, which is just as it should be.
The criminal trial and now the jury deliberations and eventual verdict are nothing but pure history in the making. It's very exciting to watch.
It should be an easy win for the prosecution given the pertinent issues…. Their dignity will be determined by what verdict is rendered and how it was arrived at!

I am glad to hear they are taking this seriously. The only time i ended up being on a jury no one tried to ask me anything during, just after. Its one of what Does make us great. Just the opportunity to be a fair juror/citizen.
This trial is bringing it home for me, just how uncomfortable our country is with the possibility of convicting, sentencing and maybe even imprisoning, for the very first time, a former POTUS. Not to mention how uncomfortable we STILL are with identifying the white collar crime of white males ("But he's wearing a SUIT!"). But we're still paying for letting Nixon off the hook. If we let THIS one go, history will show this was one of our last chances to honor and reinforce our own laws.

Yep, TOTAL projection. And calling Trump’s longtime fixer Michael Cohen “the GLOAT” certainly doesn’t reflect well on their client, who employed him for over 10 yrs. Cohen did most of his lying for Trump, who also had his “fixer” intimidate and threaten people as well.

I loved the last portion of The Last Word, it's more relaxed and honestly it's what the audience are saying at our dinner table about this case. 'The Last Dinner Table Talk' was like a dinner table chat

I think using a rebuttal was important in this case because I have a feeling that the one juror who is fascinated by Trump is going to need every common Sense nudge possible to keep him from hanging the jury.

I've said before and I think it's important to know how all payments to Michael Cohen were recorded in their ledgers for the entire time he was an "employee." I agree that it should have been clearly marked as a reimbursement but how were his other payments recorded? To simply list them as "Legal Expenses" can cover too broad an area. The example I gave just the other day was a ledger entry for "Lawn Care." Go dig a hole in your backyard, dump a body in there and cover it up with a manufactured and manicured patch of grass so it looks like it was never disturbed. You could list that as Lawn Care!

Why is Jonathan Lemire lying? He said cereal is $8.00. I just bought the largest box of popular name brand cereal for just over $4.00. People are getting paid more things now cost more. I just saw a fast good sign that said they were paying $19 an hr. for closers with benefits. Late 1950, my dad complained he got a 25-cent raise, but bread went up 50 cents. Gas in 1958 was 30 cents, but is worth 3.29 in 2024. This reporting is as bad as trump saying you need an I.D. card to buy groceries.
These people live in the highest cost of living areas in America, they are out of touch and fanning the flames without even realizing
My father had an independent gas station in the early 1960s. We would have gas wars with name-brand gas stations like Shell, or Texaco. If they were selling their gas at 20 cents a gallon, we would go 15 cents a gallon for full service which does not exist these days. We had the hats and uniforms. Those days a long gone.

I hope in jury instructions, the judge does emphasized that just as you can't consider any defendants past employment or the knowledge of any hopes for his or her future employment while considering the verdict, they can't do it for this defendant either. It's information they simply cannot use and it's something they cannot even consider

Closed captioning is so bizarre sometimes! Not even close to what is actually being said. I'm mildly hearing impaired, so try to use CC to catch words I might have missed or misunderstood. But I've often wondered how someone with severe hearing impairment can possibly follow what's being said with the poor quality closed captioning used in news stories!

What happened with the cameras during the last segment? It looks like they lost all three main cameras and were using just the jib camera. Audio also seemed to be just the overhead mic. Lots of crew noise in the studio too. Was kind of fun.

Trumps team has the jurors names. Trump talks about retribution and revenge. This has to burden the jury. In addition the long, drawn out process, these folks just want their lives back.

The question not being asked: are the facts of the case, even if proven BARD, meet the letter of the law for the criminal statutes for which he’s being charged? We now know what he did, and it’s despicable, but was the prosecution able to line up the crime with the statutes?
Summations lasting 3-4 hours? That’s like the entire trial. So would writers for movies and tv shows make better lawyers because the closing arguments in their scripts only last minutes and they hit the right spots to appeal to the jury?

The public missed A LOT of pertinent facts in not being allowed to see this state prosecution that would have national implications. Yet another thing to thank New York for. Was it even recorded. Probably not, that would be too much like evidence.

Judge Merchan should be drafted on all these cases for Trump to move these court cases forward. At the very least all the other judges should follow the same blueprint of Judge Merchan not to give Trump one inch to disrupt their case inside and outside the court and not allow him to sleep either.
What is the punishment if he is found guilty?

The penalty in New York ranges from probation to a maximum of four years PER offence. (Trump has been charged with 34 offences.) Given Trump’s age and absence of past criminal convictions, his sentence (if convicted) is likely to be on the lower end of the range.

I think it's a good thing that the Prosecution summation and Judge Merchan's instructions to the jury are taking place on Wednesday. It's the very last thing they'll hear and id fresh. Of course the Defense summation will be in play as well but...I can only pray they will decide this case in good faith.
