Wow, really excellent insights into this obtuse little story! One other note I’ll add-the fact that Ichabod is invited to the party the day of is probably a sign he was invited as an afterthought. But of course, this doesn’t cross his mind!

I've loved this story since I was a kid when I saw the Disney movie. Thank you for making these videos.

I am an adult with school many years behind me and I found this very helpful and informative! Just read this today to kick off spooky season. 👻🎃 I’ve never been good at reading comprehension and getting the hidden meaning from things so I really benefit from a good explanation. I do strive to get better! 😁 Next on my list is Dracula and Frankenstein. I’ll be returning to see if you cover those as well!

There is a silent movie version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow wherein we see Brom Bones as he turns out to be the Headless Horseman in disguise as he scares Ichabod Crane out of Sleepy Hollow.

I just read "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" for fun, but I was... a little confused.
This explanation helped me make the connections I missed. Thank you.

Well done. I can't remember reading the book but am familiar with rhe names. I am going to the library to read it again. Narrator was well spoken. I throughly enjoyed. Well done my friend.

Thank you. By the way, I hope you do Othello or Macbeth or Paradise Lost sometime in the future. Up to you of course, but just thought I'd mention them.

There's one odd inversion where generally it's the city folk (educated outsiders) who are skeptics.

I'm about to write a research paper(a long annotated bibliography) for my american Lit class and this really helped, because the original text is a little confusing lol

Do you think you could give an analysis of peter pan or the jungle book?

I’m curious about Washington Irving’s opinions on slavery and abolition. Was he in favor of slow progression towards freedom or immediate freedom?
