For all that don't know the history, punk was tailing out in 1980 in the suburbs (behind London)it morphed into New wave, which included 2 tone. On the back of 2 tone there was a brief mod revival that coincided with this song ( a B side) for 6-8 weeks there were some large organised fights in the UK between the remaining punks, and the far more numerous mods. By the time the wounds healed the New Romantics had taken over, most punks and mods joined that movement. It all happened very fast over a short time period.

Anywhere really that anarchy is prevalent could also be called punk it was mearly defined in the 70's mainly due to the thatcherite government in England. France during the revolution has alot of punk ideaology in writing and music it just not called punk. Also bands like the ramones started in the sixties and are one of punk musics bigest inspirations
