The movie "La Bamba," started it all for me. After seeing the movie, and falling in Love with the title song, I immediately headed for the local guitar shop. Spent $2500 on a used Gretsch that I couldn't play. Talk about being in the Dog House. For two months I worked on La Bamba . . . until my wife (now ex), asked if I could PLEASE learn something else. Good Times!
Kick ass!!! We need a Netflix series on the life of Ritchie. There’s a lot more that can be said about his life. Did you know that Ritchie was actually left handed 😉
I studied you version. Since then I did my own version, and borrowed quite a bit of yours. My band, The Flying Saucers, will play it live. We are older guys, all in our 70's, and have been at it about one year, and having lots of fun! Thank you for all the great videos.
Man, I could watch this a thousand times. It's addicting. Great playing and great tone. That bridge is like language. It speaks. This is rock and roll at its heartfelt CORE. Pure genius! What kind of guitar is that, a Fender?
@@maruta555 Man, I never heard another guitar with better tone than a Jazzmaster. And I absolutely LOVE the guitar break on this song, originally recorded by studio musician Rene Hall for Valens' hit.
Thoroughly enjoyed this as a relative beginner almost 2 years in on a borrowed acoustic. Gives me something to aspire to. Always liked this song. Remarkable playing.
AGAIN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT-------BEEN WANTING TO SAY FOR A LONG TIME---------- WE SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell of a job,Tom! Tone is spot on and your playing is flawless as usual. La Bambi was why I picked up a guitar many moons ago and this song was the reason!
Thanks Tom. Watching the video, listening, reading the tabs I got the first chording verse part down in about 30 minutes.I mean just memorized, not to performance level yet.
Well, come on, let's go, let's go, let's go, little darlin' Tell me that you'll never leave me Come on, come on, let's go again And again and again Well, now swing me, swing me Swing me way down there, darling Come on, let's go, little darling Let's go, let's go again once more Well, I love you so, yeah And I'll never let you go Come on, baby, soon Oh pretty baby, I love you so Well, let's go, let's go Let's go little sweetheart And then we can always be together Come on, come on, let's go again Let's go I love you so, yeah And I'll never let you go Come on, baby, soon Oh pretty baby, I love you so Well, let's go, let's go, let's go, little darling Tell me that you'll never leave me Come on, come on, let's go again And again and again Come on, let's go and do it again And again and again and again And again and again and again Come on, let's go and do it again

Man the tone on that guitar is simply beautiful and great playing.
I love how the rythm part consists of chords D E A D only, though the song is so positive
How profound can one be? :)
