Another way you can kill gnats and moths and other bugs attracted to light is having a container full of a mix of water and dish soap under a lamp. The bugs will try to get the light and run into it and then fall into the soapy water. It worked amazing for me last summer

I got mine from a package of Jiffy box mix that I bought at Walmart. When I got ready to use the Jeffry mix that day I bought it, I opened it and out flew these moths. I am a Tupperware consultant and keep all my flour and sugar, cereal and so on in Tupperware air tight containers. If I buy anything from Walmart now, it gets opened out side first then put into containers.

I think leaving the pheronome trap in a wardrobe would encourage them to go in there. And they might stop off at one's clothes first.

AFAIK it's the moth larvae that do most of the damage to your clothing not the adult moths, so the only reason to trap/ kill them as mature adult moths is to prevent mating.

You don't stand a chance mate. A female moth can lay 600 eggs! You would need to kill it before it began laying.

Currently watching this with at least 40 unsuspecting moths above my head. Colorado prairie they started out as just a few and in two days they’ve overrun the house. I’ve killed damn near a hundred already
You don't trap the females - you're aiming to break the life cycle of the moths by preventing mating and stopping any more eggs being laid. If you consistently catch the males for a few months, you should be able to eradicate an infestation all together.
I stored.my rice dirrectly into an airtight container and they somehow still grew in there they are driving me insane!!!
Place a kurrie leaf or a a spoon of salt hope it would work
They eggs were probably in the rice when you bought it. Some manufacturing methods fail to eradicate them before they make the supermarket shelf!
I think you should have let ppl know that it's not actually the moths that 'eat clothes'.. It's their larvae.
Once the larvae has EATEN enough it makes its cocoon, comes out as a moth, that has no mouth to 'eat'. Their only goal is to then mate and lay their eggs again, to start the cycle over.
*If the traps only catch the male moths, then already impregnated moths can still lay their eggs.
It's a pain in the butt, I've been dealing with for a while now.
I want to try the traps, but I want to get them all.. not just the males.

My neighbour said to also try ant powder, sprinkle it round the edges of the room. Got rid of all my carpets now only have flooring apart from one room. Last year in the UK i saw none, this year I'm seeing at least one a day, will try the traps.

I used to have this in my room,they got in on an old bed. I just used to clap them between my hands, but I kept seeing the little buggers, I get the odd one now an again, but it doesn't last long, hate them, they trashed a pair of really expensive trousers and a pinstripe suite.

In beautiful Colorado, miller moths mar what is probably my very favorite time of year (second half of May / first half of June), especially during the worst years. 1999 was worse than anything since (thankfully). I wish all the moths would go land on the surface of lakes, rivers, and streams and let the fish gorge themselves to their hearts' content. I find them (miller moths) revolting, just being honest.

ok, so, you all would kill butterflies if there were a "pesty" amount of them? I didn't think so... the ONLY difference between butterflies and moths is the time they feed... most moths don't even have mouths, the caterpillars are the gluttons. The adults only breed then die. Anyway all I'm saying is moths are just as peaceful and important and some as or more beautiful than butterflies... live and let live... now if you have say dozens of them hatching out of a bag rice or whatnot I guess I see the frustration, but at that point the damage is done, You're not going to eat the rice so bring bring it outside and live and let live...
Butterflies don't infest your home and destroy your food stores, furniture, carpets and clothes. I couldn't care less how "peaceful" they are, moths are destructive pests indoors and if all you do is set destroyed/contaminated food and items outside, they continue to breed and feed off anything they can. Eliminating them is the only sane response unless you're content to lounge around your home while moths land in your drinks, put holes in your clothes, eat your cereal and dive-bomb your face flashing tiny moth gang signs while you watch TV.

I don't know if it's just my moths, but these bastards are resilient as hell. I've sprayed them with bleach and they still get up and fly then I'd smack it with a rolled up paper, it falls to the ground and in a few seconds get right back up, theeeeen I'd smack it while it's on the floor and it still gets up!!!! Helpppp
