For large Miller moths my grandfather made a double cone out of aluminum screening where the top cone had a exposed light bulb with a cord at the top, and the inner cone that had a much more acute angle and had a small 1-in hole at the apex. They shared the same base diameter and were assembled together the smaller inside the larger. You simply hung it from the light cord and the moths would flock to the light crawling through that small hole but then get trapped between the two cones. I can't remember how he emptied it, but I think he had some fairly easy way to separate the two or he had a slice down the large screen that he closed with duct tape. He's trapped hundreds upon hundreds. And then he put it up in the shed until next season...
Same I feel like I almost die when I come across one. They also sneak up literally in my face and I'm blind so I can't really see them sneaking up. I literally scream from the thing touching my face 😣
Every year in spring or summer I have moths all over my room. They are liturally all over my walls and sometimes even in my pillowcases. Right now I’m staying in my parents bedroom and I’m scared of my room.
I ended up accidentally bringing moths home when I got some grain from the feed store 🙃 they have since taken over my home and are eating anything with cotton in it. I've moved apartments entirely and I'm still finding them here and there. I hate these little things and I hate moth balls too.
Pantry moths love white wine. They'll fly right into your glass. So after throwing out everything and cleaning I leave glasses of wine around the kitchen to see if they're finally gone. My cat will miss them but I won't!!!
Lavender Method surface cleaner in the purple bottle works great for spraying moth down enough to kill them and flush them down the toilet. They are so annoying literally 🙄. You can find the spray in Harris Tetter and major grocery stores. The key is wetting the moths wings and when the drop, you act fast. This spray won’t bleach your clothes or furniture either, so that’s a plus.
I made lots of Christmas decorations with desiccated orange slices and moths ate them. They left the ring , white parts and found orange dust all over the boxes . My mistake was to store them with pine cones that probably contained larvae .
No. If you think about house moths no. Only the clothes eating moth which is an actual pest and not a normal moth (moths don’t have mouths) eat clothes,
@@iateyourfather92 You are correct.. Moths do not have mouths.. But their larva do, They loose their mouth when they metamorphose into moths.. It is the larva that eat wool.
@@rdkuless Clothes eating moths don’t lose their mouth. They still feed on clothes. Aswell larvae they love synthetic or blended clothes, some from animals or some stained by food or sweat
Its almost moth season at my house , i ruined my good vacuum last year by vacuuming them up , it made my vaccuum have a terrible smell i could never get rid of 😞
OMG! Vacuum 7 days? Do you know how hard that is when you have stuff all over the place? I'm kind of lazy but I'm trying to deal with a few tiny moths that come out at night, not in the kitchen but in other rooms. Not a lot but one or 2 or 3 a night. It's soooo annoying. I try to catch them but one second they are flying right in front of you and then all of sudden they disappear, then they fly right by you again. I've been vacuuming but not every day. It's hard moving furniture and stuff around to get under them. Is Lavender Essential oil bad to use as well? I use it just to make the room smell good sometimes. I hate those little moths. They seem to come out right at the end of the cold season as it starts to get warm outside and when the windows are still closed. Great video BTW. Very good info. Thank you!
All your suggestions sound good for flying moths, I need something for what I tHINK are moth larva that has invaded my leather couch wool carpet and faux fur throw.
@@tendousbrokenback3610did you get remove them completely? I’m facing this problem right now. Do the moth larvae stay in our clothes and feed on our hair on the body? Or do they die after we wear the clothes? I do inspect every clothes before wearing but they said we can’t see it through our eyes so 😭🫠 what to do?
I really don't like cloves or cinnamon scents. Will try lavender diffuser. Trying to avoid using a fogger. Cloves and cinnamon will be last resort. Have emptied pantry and used econovenger plant based spray. Always looking for info.
Moths are annoying. They eat my food and clothes. They even get in my drinks. They always stain my walls when I hit them on the wall. And I’m trying to get sleep right now and there was a moth but I killed it
Exactly, they are useless eaters and moreover a liability to your much needed resources, it's like these little demons are weaponized against us to attack us by destroying our most important necessities we cannot live without: Food, Clothing, Shelter
The moths I have tried to lay eggs on my co!oring pencils. Cleaned those off. They love some of my clothes. Oh need to get cinnamon sticks. I love the smell of cinnamon myself. Sticky traps really help.
I locked it in the bathroom after attracting it to light. I am hearing noises from my bathroom and crying. I guess i deserve it for torturing it by turning the lights off praying that it flies out
Even with a insect-pested house moths keep making their way in. One day I was so annoyed that I sprayed it and the moth fell to the ground and I ran it over with a wheel. It was the 2nd biggest relief I ever got since these moths keep coming in my house I had finally killed the last one. And guess what, it came back I was so confused because it was the same exact one (I recognized it. It wasn’t another one with the same kind it was the same one!) I sprayed it down again and ran it over with a wheel 40 times. And it’s back. I use Reddit’s techniques and moths are coming way more now. I got an electric bat and I saw moth and I tried to kill it and it disappears into thin air. I put it into a jar and wait for it to suffocate. Now that it’s dead I took the jar off then it started flying again :( I used the jar once more and left it there even if it looked dead and it’s no longer in there I check the jar because it disappeared in the jar and again. It flew back and came to annoy me. I tried ignoring it but it keeps annoying me I try to use fragrance that moths hate -Lavender Are these even moths it didn’t work. You shouldn't be scared of Them because they're scared of us as well and you shouldn't get rid of these churches there life and if you're saying all those things way don't you just go
If they are so scared of us, why do they live off of our possessions and with us in our homes, being worse than useless eaters, but liabilities to our goods, rather than living outside away from us, doing something useful as helping to protect and preserve our ecosystem, environment and planet???, Huh
We got our brand new couch out of storage when we moved, that was shrink wrapped, we have been INFESTED since, it’s been 3 years! If moths like those essential oils, why not put some of those oils on fly paper as an attractant?
