@@TheMetalist DUDE this thing is awesome we still using disc saws here. Or notchers that do on only job, at no less than 240. Daaamn. A plasma cutter is around 150 bucks and your tool is genial you could even turn the tube yourself! And it cuts a lot of stuff I mean in the end its even less dangerous than the 350mm disc saw.
Dude, you outdid yourself again, this is so awesome! Love the creativity and the solutions. Smart and efficient. Thanks for taking the time to film this and sharing it with us!
I watch A LOT of TH-cam videos and come across many great projects/ideas. This ranks at the top! Not only is it a genius idea, but seems fairly simple to make. Rarely do the two go together. Now….to make your motorized chuck.
Great idea! make the patterns double ended for more angles and put a spacer on the torch tip to get a little stand off so you don't burn up tips too fast.
Work smarter, not harder. These are the type of videos I like, no Stupid intros, no begging to subscribe and like the video. just good old information.
SIMPLICITY IS THE "KEY" BUT IT GOES GREAT ALONG A DASH OF IMAGINATION. OUR FRIEND HERE "THE METALIST" IS ALSO A "MENTALIST" WHICH NOMINATES HIM TO BE ONE OF THE "MEDALISTS"!!. GREAT DOINGS & THANKS FOR SHARING.
I wondered wtf you were doing when you started welding hinges together, now I'm impressed! people pay thousands for automatic pipe cutting machines, this is a genius little set up, well done
THAT IS JUST PLAIN NEAT! Did I say that with enough gusto? And this video was uploaded on July 13, 2020 - did you just recently have this revelation and create the video? Are there any more at home like this one? That deserves a LIKE and a SUB.
Making the ally tube double ended Eg: 60 one end 45 the opposite end 90 and 75 on another piece use wing nuts instead of Phillips head screws . Cheers from a old toolmaker in Australia .
Tu es un petit génie et un malin !Bien joué ,à mon avis tu dois mal dormir la nuit, bref le cerveau est toujours en mouvement !Fait gaffe, parfois faut débrancher !🤔🙄😂👍
It’s cool, but how does it work on full length pipes like a roll cage? I’ve been tossing around an idea like this but using CNC for the movements and rotation. But can’t figure out a solution if it’s pre bent tube like a roll cage.
Great idea! I’d just say engineer a way to use a stand off, or see if a regular stand off will work. burn up a lot of tips with it just flat against the metal like that.
@@TheMetalist I know this is a little late, but they make a sort of training wheel for plasma cutters to keep the tip away if your doing it on something like a positioner
Very cool idea that could be adapted for many applications there hand holding a torch even with a guide isn't good enough. Going to have to search out the build of the rotary fixture. My issue with this is the time and effort put into the build isn't worth it in most applications. I could see this as being helpful for garage production runs depending on what the parts are being used for. I'm also not a fan of plasma cut notchers in general. They don't really save much time. You can't properly weld those joints without cleaning up ALL of the dross and plasma cut edges. The traditional drill powered notcher is slower to cut but there is very little cleanup. Plus the adjustability can't be beat by anything close to affordable. Awesome video. Awesome idea. Keep being creative because even though I don't see this as being very practical I absolutely got something out of it.
You're indisputably the GOAT! Quick moving video with no bullshit. Straight to the point and concise. Subscriber for life here!

@@TheMetalist Thanks for the positive feedback I have yet to fire up my plasma welder .Not sure if it works upside down here in Australia .

Use "wing" bolts instead of phillips screws, easier.

Love this! Thanks for showing us! Cheers!
whoa that's neat, so with a quiet plasma cutter and compressor, I can get rid of my saw. I hate cutting notches.
Brilliant idea mate

Thank you 😁 nice 👍🏻
Yes, that was worth the price of admission alone!
You are a smart one👏👏👏👏👏👏

1:50 Use a piece of smaller angle bar to get lines parallel to center axis.
Try chalk dust as a form of lubricant at the end of the template tube. Won't melt during cutting if doing multiple cuts.
Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
Brilliant 👌⚒️

Very cool project!! Def subscribed!
Thank you 😁
Do you use grease on all of them? What kind of grease? Thanks.
Just on the last one 45° the torch stuck a little bit by moving along the template! Heat resistant grease but i guess regular would be also good 😊
Only need two bolts to hold it to the tube, also weld some 8mm round bar on them so you can tighten easily without having to use a tool
