Just bought myself one of these, same year Sport Td4 in black. I have the same upholstery, I agree it's very good. Driver's seat bolster is still in good shape, not bad for a 17 year old vehicle. I tow vehicles fairly frequently for my work so looking forward to seeing how it performs on that front. It's still a Land Rover so it's a bit rugged, but the Sport version is nicely appointed and the interior is finished well. This version I also think is the best looking of the bunch, especially the front end. The Sport version is also lower than the standard model, I was surprised how the body roll isn't bad at all for the type of vehicle this is. The BMW engine is sweet as a nut, definitely one of its highlights.
Beautiful car! I am looking to buy one... And I am a bit confused on something... Do the awd ones come with a low range (for offroad use)? Or some other type is system? Thank you!

Hello Keith, I bought this car a couple days ago. I'd like to know what kind of tone is this colour. It's not golden nor yellow. If you reply me I'd be thankful!!
I love this car. I have the 2006 in grey. Love it , So much fun with the hard top roof off and sunroof off. I take my wellington boots into the mountains in Wales to worry the sheep 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
Yep. Notorious for it. Has a bolt kit that goes all the way through the block. That must also be changed if repairing. A simple skim will not suffice, so it's an expensive job.
Nah, V6 only came in steptronic/tiptronic auto-box electronic tranny which was new in the industry, notorious for failure, and expensive to replace. The electronic transmission was so new garages did not know electronic solenoids, and frequently it came back from a service with no Reverse because the Brake Band restraining dowel was easily mistaken for the transmission Oil Drain plug. The Jatco JF506E was a nightmare to strip down and replace speed sensors, and most cases people thought the only solution was a complete transmission replacement at enormous expense. The 1.8 K-series Rover 4 cyl petrol motor was ithe Rover engine nfamous for burning head gaskets and dropping cylinder liners due to a coolant path to thermostat schema that was arse in backwards: it sensed coolant temperature off cooled radiator outflow going into the engine, rather than the hot coolant outflow running off the engine to the radiator, with the thermostat located at the inflow it opened coolant flow around about when the engine was overheating which eventually caused thermal shock and cracked, or warped alloy heads. Heat soak happened to the block after the ignition was turned off, thus no coolant circulation, this warped the heads too: the thermal co-efficient of the different materials Aluminium and Steel had different expansion rates so the cylinder sleeves dropped below the heads seal gap and coolant got in the engine oil. Terrible implementation of coolant path schematic adapted from racetrack service.
I am pritty sure the Freelander 1 did not have tge heated front screen. The Land Rovers/Range Rovers got that when Ford took over the company for a while, before selling it to TaTa (i think that is how you spell it).
@@thelostshadowofhanzo I can't remember for certain if my first Freelander had one, that was a 2000 model, but it had the BMW M47 engine, my 2005 definitely did have a heated front screen though.
Me too and I completely agree with you, Helen. We have had ours 16 years and it has been quite brilliant. My partner doesn't want to change, but she is a quite a bit younger than me and time on her side - I am nearly 70 and feel I have just one new car left in me. (I have never been one to change cars frequently.) I am considering a Jaguar F-pace but it will hurt me to lose this one.
The F-Pace is nice, but the new Ingenium engine has lots of issues. If you want reliability stick with either the 2.0 TD4 or the 2.2 diesels. They have alot less problems and are more reliable.
I've got the 2006 Station Wagon, 190000 miles on mine, still going strong..
I bought one last week (2004 plate) I absolutely love it. I mainly drive a sprinter van in my work, feels great driving one of these after work 🤗
Awesome vehicle for the price

Cu drag conduc o asemenea mașina ! 👍
What sort of real life fuel consumption do you get on the 2.0 diesel? Around town and on a run?
High, i like the new front-light of this model too. Kindly Fiete

I'm not going to lie this makes me rethink buying my Isuzu Amigo lol! What an awesome vehicle this is!
Cheers for that
I Want this car! colour is so nice
super
what's wrong with the window wipers?
Probably the linkage. Known for locking up. Best to replace the linkage with the motor at the same time. Rover sells it as a complete kit. $300 usd.
looks very nice
Very very nice
is this the same as the 2litre tdi engine?
imhoman no TD4
Head gasket problems in the V6!?!?!

Comment monter la courroie alternateur
So the commentator says this has a turbo. Is that correct?
Yeah, why else would it have a 'T' in the badge? TD4 - Turbocharged Direct injection w/ 4 cylinders

You forgot to mention the heated front screen ;)
How does it do that

Does the 4 door configuration of Land Rover Freelander also have removable top?
No, just the 2 door (3 door) from 1997-2006. 4 door does not have removable top but has optional sunroof.
