@@mominhossain4268 Hey there, it depends on the student, but 3 of the tests are mostly reading comprehension: reading language arts, social studies, science. Math is usually the most difficult for students so depends how you feel with that one!

Hi, I have been trying to pass the GED math test for 8 years, and I have passed the other subjects with a score of 150. I dropped out of highschool in 9th grade and back then algerbra was an elective. In high school I've only taken fundamental math and at 65 fully retired I still can't let it go. I am having a hard time with the math reasoning skills but I still plan to take it May 20, 2024.

For some reason I've never understood Math
It’s a different language for sure. It might be more helpful to watch lessons on specific topics instead of altogether like this one which can be overwhelming!

I need a better job position and this final test is my last locked door I passed all the others and did alot of studying with math already but the essential ed was terrible for math at higher levels.Everyone swears by this channel so adding this channel to my study techniques is what im doing next.

Hey. I came here to say I passed my GED math test which was my last one , thanks to watching all of your videos for two weeks without taking notes. I couldn’t have done it without you. THANK YOU!! 🫡❤️
To the people who’re studying to get theirs , you got this , don’t give up !! I suggest you study slopes (that was majority of what was on the test) , inequalities , word problems , quadratic equations, solving for ‘x’ , factoring , very few fraction problems , finding volume / surface area , circumference etc , finding the mean , functions , graph questions , number lines , distributive property , graphing coordinates , simplifying expressions, percentages and polynomials . (I’m based in nyc btw) there were 45 questions in total . The first 5 were no calculator .

Great Video, I just want to say that the question at 20:10 about the surface area required to wrap the AA batteries is wrong. the surface area required to wrap the batteries is the area of a cylinder minus the surface of the 2 circles on each end because it says sleeve we are not looking at the total cylinder surface as you can imagine both ends of a battery the positive and negative cannot be covered. so we only going to use the first part of the equation 2.PI.r.h therefore the correct answer is A
Hey there, it's a great distinction for everyone reading this! If you don't need the top and bottom, like Omar said, just use SA = 2πrh (and leave out the + 2πr^2 which adds two circles, one for the top, one for the bottom). I made this problem up and didn't make it clear that I was simplifying it so we would wrap the whole cylinder (including top/bottom) since a heating element would then shrink this to reveal holes at the top/bottom at a later step. Sorry if that causes confusion for this one! But Omar is spot on if you ever don't need the top/bottom, just FYI!

Hey there quick question for the question that involved the motorcycle and gas and it said y=43x how did you come up with 1? I’m not understanding where the 1 came from
Often with a formula like this, it's helpful to see what happens when you plug in a value. 1 is usually a helpful value since it's easy and small. But, I could have plugged in 2, and gotten y =43(2) which is 86. That would tell us on 2 gallons (since x is gallons), we would go 86 miles, since y is miles.
It's just easier if we plug in x = 1, so on 1 gallon we go 43 miles, since we can easily compare this to other values. Hope that helps!

Quick question if you don't see a = sign but only x2-2x-10 then how would you solve that if no = sign?
Good question! If there were no = sign, then it would be a "factor" or FOIL problem.
For instance "Factor x2-3x-10"
A. (x - 5)(x - 2)
B. (x - 5)(x + 2)
etc.
You can FOIL the answers to see which gives you x2-3x-10. It's end up being B here!

Hello, I'm having some trouble with geometry. Could you help me with this? Greg installed a circular drain that has a diameter of 4.8 inches. To the nearest tenth of an inch, what is the circumference of the drain? I got it wrong but can't come up with the right answer. And another one I got wrong is the distance around a circular badge is 1.5pie inch. What is the longest distance from each end of the badge? I got ot wrong can you help me through it so I know how to do it.
Hey there, for the first one, there are 2 formulas for circumference on the formula sheet:
C = 2πr OR C = πd
• r is the radius
• d is the diameter
Because we're given the diameter, we can plug 4.8 into d for the second formula:
π•4.8
15.07
or 15.1 rounded to the nearest tenth (nearest 10 cents)
The second one is more complicated. The "distance around a circular badge" is the circumference (distance around a circle). So we know the answer is 1.5π. I would use the answers and see which of them when you plug into d in the equation C = πd gives you a final answer of 1.5π. Hope that helps!

Since C = π•d
then the diameter must be 1.5
therefore that's the answer since that's the longest distance from each end of the badge 👍🏼

Hey i had trouble with this problem: A cone has a diameter of 3 inches the cone holds 12 cubic inch of water to the nearest inch what is the height of the cone? Choices are 1,4,5 10?
Hey there, You can use the volume of a cone formula (since it "holds" 12 cubic inches, that's the volume):
V = 1/3πr^2h
Since the diameter is 3, divide it by 2 to get the radius: 3 ÷ 2 = 1.5 inches is the radius
Then, you can plug in the answer choices for the height to see which makes the whole thing 12:
V = 1/3π(1.5)^2(1) -> here make h = 1
If that gives you close to 12, you're done! If not, then change the height to 4 and see if that gets you close to 12. Let me know if that helps!

I downloaded the desktop version, which I paid for a subscription for. But, I think they give you a free 30-day trial once you download it to be able to use it to practice 👍🏼
At 2:14, why is D not the same as c? Seems it is also equivalent to 5? Edit: nevermind I thought about it more, you add/subtract then take the absolute value (so d is actually =1). I took the absolute value then added at first.

How long is the actual ged math test? I wonder how many there are and how many can you get wrong?
The actual GED Math test is around 40 questions or so. You can get around 1/2 of them wrong and still pass!

Really worried about the math portion ive been studying ive got ged books from libary going to ckass an watching this makes me feel like a lost cause everybody seems to do so good an im struggling😢
One of the issues with the GED Ready tests is exactly what you said - they can make you feel overwhelmed and unconfident. The real tests have more straightforward, easier questions than these ones. Don't get discouraged!
Since you only need around 50% to pass, try to focus on all of the easier topics first! I would recommend studying these ones more than using this video:
