As a long-retired rugby player, I just wanted to add that Abby Dow thoroughly deserved the accolades that she has received for her thrilling race to the try line but I feel that your vital contribution has been somewhat overlooked. The way in which you skipped and danced your way through and around a number of Canadian players was exciting and mesmerising and allowed you to make the perfect pass to Abby Dow. Brilliant!
The try really started when the pack just flooded the breakdown and secured the ball. It was probably the most exciting play I've ever seen - Canada were putting the roses under so much pressure and you can see Infante patrolling at the back, looking for a breakdown that could successfully be challenged, and Abby Ward did an amazing job of getting over the ball.... As soon as Infante came up with it and hurled that long pass out, I jumped to my feet as I knew we were about to see something really special! The roses did not disappoint!
Congratulations to: 1. Abbie Ward for the turnover 2. Zoe Harrison for passing instead of kicking to touch 3. Claudia MacDonald for the jinking run and superb pass 4. Abby Dow for the blistering pace and try 5. Ellie Kildunne for keeping up with Abby Dow!
Phenomenal score. Astonishing turn-over by the pack a few metres out from the England line then the vision and confidence to pass it wide and run it from behind the try line. Claudia's mesmerising run and perfect 20m pass then Abbs showing a ridiculous turn of pace from someone whose leg was shattered less than a year before that moment. Amazing. Have to say that as an ex-referee I have a real problem with defenders dropping on players who have just scored. Pathetic bit of petulance having just been handed-off dropping knees first onto a defenceless player. Canada no 11 should have been in the bin for that with the restart a pen to England
one of the greatest tries by an england player Abby Dow has shown many times she is capable of these feats, but now the whole backline have become so talented.
In the World Cup, England was wiping the floor with the Kiwis up until an England player was sent off. If not for that, England would have won - absolutely no doubt about it. x
Great player, don't see enough of abbie skills and pace, only player I've seen outpace and run around 🇳🇿 black Ferns, real rugby 😀, we see too much of England favorite tactic, the slow rolling maul, like watching a tug o war.
Surely it was the Black Ferns try from the ends of the earth - just after halftime in the final that was the best one...this was against only Canada who has virtually zero defence on their left side....

100%!!!
It wasn't just Ellie shouting "Go, Abby, go" at that moment, I was too.
Incredible !!!
That pass was absolutely on the button💪👌

"That practice we did four years ago" That's two really professional players getting it right on the night.
One of those against France this weekend please 🙏🏴
What a commentary full of passion for what he was seeing, try would have been just another try if not for the commentator. 👌
This is where I'm trying to get in rugby . 😍
Go for it. Best team sport ever, and a source of lifelong friendships. Play hard, battle together, party hard after.
Quality video 😂 those girls need to appear on koko. They’d have a bloody good laugh

Sensational!
Phenomenal try .
That’s what we want to see in a rugby match.
Well preferred from the normal “rolling maul” goto!
Response to the Canadian one by Magali Harvey in 2014. Rare!
What a try that was
Hello from New Zealand I think Ellie Kildunne is a super model.
❤ Amazing
So many great players from Wasps. Once a Wasp always a Wasp
Yes, all 3 main contributors in one club team, + Meg Jones

Complete misreading of England exploits of the past few years. BFs used the maul in the 2024 WXV. Presumably they're excused from criticism.
Best try? Very debatable but as usual decided before the end of the tournament and by who

@@okbutthenagain.9402 no we have the world cup as our remedy
@@deantairi8357 Yet here you are whining ... Irony passed you by as always!

True bro, blew Emily away.Stace with the pace...
Spoken like a true unbiased Kiwi. Kiwis or nobody I suppose. PS defence not defense.
Kiwi commentator even says, you won't see better.
Is this a case of selective hearing?
@@johnpoile1451 Until the Final where we did see much better :-)
Black ferns scored better tries in the final
Not according to the players who voted for it.. N ice try though!
Plus it was against 14 players for an hour
