WOW. What a brave man (Mendy)! I am a Muslim woman from Montreal and remember their escape in the middle of the night during winter. I lived next to Lev Tahor and never quite understood what was going on..until it was all over the news , but to hear this testimony from Mendy: I say live your best life now, my brother, and continue to be kind😍

As a Muslim in Germany Yiddish is soooo interesting! The religious terminology is understandable to me 70%, because it either translates nearly 1:1 to Arabic or it’s just plain German. Very interesting interview, incredible that such cults can still exist.

@@laurag502 Yiddish has no relation with Arabic. Yiddish is a Germanic-origin language spoken with a few Hebrew-influenced words mostly spoken by Ashkenazi Jews. Hebrew and Arabic are Semitic languages. But I know what you meant.

From a different religion (Christianity)... I remember going to different church leaders, trying to understand what God wanted for me, when I had a 2 year old, and a husband who was an addict (actively and not trying to stop, just lied) who was ruining our lives and abusing me. Because he didn't cheat on me, I was told I could not divorce him... and I risked spending my life in hell. And I had to choose between my salvation and raising my son in a safe home. I had to choose a safe home. I had to choose my son's future over my religion. It is such a weird situation when you are told your choices areeither hell on earth or hell in the afterlife.

Does your church not permit separation? I know most churches don't condone divorce but I have always been taught that separation is a different thing and is sometimes necessary for the safety of the family.

Ashly, it's okay. I didn't know God and then He revealed Himself. My Hebrew name Jacova is the female form of Jacob. God spoke fifty sentences to me from above to my ear. His first nine sentences were 8.4.2015 in the morning. One of the wisest things He said was, When you notice something there is a reason. This can be a way to see signs from God.
God is not as cruel as Islam. Religious temples are meeting places. Unfortunately they can turn into piety contests.
God hears you. I'm sure he has heard you crying in your bed and at your happiest moments. God didn't say, let there be light, bring me slaves.
His last sentence to me was four years ago after months. He said, You are Princess Messenger of God. In Aramaic, it's Amira Malaka Elah. In Aramaic Khubba means love. Khubba to you and yours.
The latest sign I asked God for was the big solar flare for May 11th Aurora Borealis. There are eleven solar years on the sun.
(I was born March 11th in Bethlehem 51 years ago.)
      I empathize.
11.17.2015 Eve Beach Waikiki early evening. I couldn't find a book reading so I sat under the stars alone. God asked me, What side of the blade are you on. I answered, The side of the righteous my words are my sword.
He then showed me my ascension to Heaven. He said, Make Israel one. You are anchor.
12 hours before the Gaziatep Turkey earthquake I was watching a video on AL Jazeera youtube about the Palestinians. I wrote that God said, Make Israel one. ( it means to bring peace and reconciliation between Jew, Christian, Muslim, cousins by Abraham. A muslim brother answered, Jews and Christians will be humiliated by God. I answered, No. We are all God's children. No one sticks a metaphorical rock in God's throat. The Prephet Muhammad knew this. Sometimes it feels like 500,000 Gazans are holding the world hostage. The earth will quake. And it did quake. It killed 50,000 people.
It's so strange to me that people in the world want to humiliate and hurt people. Islamer J.had is anathema to God and life. I am glad you know that.
Ahava Adonai Ahava Israel Elehenu Adonai Hashem. One of God's names in Hebrew Hashem means The Name. That's how humble God can be.

      Salam/Hello,
I hope you're okay. From being a niqabi wahabi/salafi to removing the niqab and leaving Islam, I am not surprised, and I say this with all respect to you and to your choice. And no one has any right to judge you for that - just ignore them when they do!

I can't even speak to her anymore, it's like no one is home. She lost herself, feels like a void, and is replaced by what the church tells her what to think and how to think. They give her free bags of food, all junk food and horrible for health. She tells church members everything about my family's lives but when asked about the church, she stays quiet. It's a one-way street of information. She barely talks to her siblings and family members anymore. Speaks to church members every day, multiple times a day nonstop. They would call her in the middle of the night and early morning after waking up. She works for the church for free, seven days... Church taught her to "speak in tongues" whatever that is.

Being that Lev Tahor is probably keeping tabs on how this video is making an impact, here is my message to them: When you go to bed tonight, ask yourself; "If we came into galus because of Sinas Chinam, what are we doing to come out of galus? Are we teaching our children to love every Yid? Are we showing them by example acts of Gemilus Chassadim, helping our brothers? Are we showing them how to have Ahavas Chinam?? "
Please don't try to answer these questions to me. In case you were brainwashed to control the members of your group- then your brain will automatically come up with proofs in The Torah that what you are doing is right.
Please try to answer these questions to yourself and see if the answer sits well with you.. You can always think about it more the next night.
One reason you might be hesitant to acknowledge what you really believe deep down, is that it would be too hard to change. It might be even too scary to even think about change, as your brain is conditioned by now to reject such thoughts. You most certainly will be scared to discuss this with people in your group, and it will require a lot of courage to act alone! But don't forget that Hashem helps all who try to do the right thing B'emes!

      That's not accurate.
There are certain ultra orthodox communities who are against exposure to the internet so they have minimal access.
I myself grew up like that and I'm very thankful. We watched movies maybe twice a year, didn't own a tv, had a computer only for essential stuff, and a phone with only talk and text.
I grew up playing on the streets till dark and using my imagination, while most kids my age grew up glued to a screen.

The key word here is born into this. No child should have to abide by religious rules as they have no choice and are not mature enough to understand nor agree with what they are taught. The damage caused by this last for life but yet these religious institutions continue to inflict harm . If a person is 18 and can make an adult decision to join then that is a different story. Non stop videos done by people born into religions .

Mendy, I'm so happy you're out of there, and you're so amazing to keep your faith in Hashem. As far as the Jewish concept of Gehenom: the idea of eternal punishment, or the idea of punishment for the sake of punishment, is foreign to Judaism. There is a judgement after death, and a process of cleansing and rectification that takes place so that the soul can go on to receive its reward unsullied by misdeeds or the experience of this world. Although it's a painful experience, the purpose of it is for the soul's benefit. That's what's meant by Gehenom. For very wicked individuals, the process can take up to 12 months. The practice of saying kaddish for a parent or loved one serves to alleviate the suffering that this process entails. Since it's unlikely and therefore disrespectful to assume that a soul would need the entire 12 months, the practice is to say the kaddish for only 11 months. I heard in the name of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe that, for the average Jew, 3 or 4 months in Gehenom is sufficient. Our tradition describes other processes that may be necessary, but the idea of it all is that this is to enable the soul to achieve a reward that is so incredible that the process is very much worth it. I remember hearing when I was in Yeshiva that a Chossid would happily jump into Gehinom. I took that to mean that, with the realization that through this process his soul will be freed from any blemish or anything that may hold him back from his reward - which is an amazing closeness with Hashem - he accepts and enters that process willingly and happily.
To me, the corruption of this idea into a horror to hold over children, giving the false impression that Hashem is just waiting (as if it could be) to catch a child out to punish him with a full measure of retribution for all eternity for some childish mishap, is astoundingly evil. The Torah and the Prophets teach us that Hashem is amazingly, infinitely merciful and wants to exercise that mercy and love, to give atonement and to bring a soul to its earned, indescribable reward, a reward that keeps increasing as time goes on. It is the worst slander against Hashem to say otherwise. To the contrary, Hashem is always waiting with anticipation for each of us to do good, and so to give us more and more reward, all the more valuable for having been earned instead of being free.
I'm so glad that you choose to believe in Hashem. If that means that you feel the need to reject the idea of Gehenom to do so, then so be it. Just keep on trusting Hashem. The Gehenom you were taught about doesn't exist anyway. No soul will be lost. As we say every morning: אלקי נשמה שנתת בי טהורה היא אתה בראתה אתה יצרתה אתה נפחתה בי ואתה משמרה בקרבי ואתה עתיד לטלה ממני ולהחזירה בי לעתיד לבוא Hashem will take care of your beautiful neshomo, have no fear, ultimately all will be well. Better than well.

Sorry to use this clique, but should Hitler be allowed to go to Heaven after "serving time?" Or Antiochus Epiphanes serves time in some sort of purgatory goes to Heaven? It cannot be! Mormons believe something like this. Catholics as well.
There must be a Hell according to the Tanakh. How you use that as a motivator shows the motivations of your leader. Weak leaders use false fear to make you a slave to their power. A true leader uses the truth to free, liberate, and mediate.

There are many muslim immigrants who arrived in the American Continent with Jews identity from the europe and other parts of the world, during and after WWI and WWII. Now, remember that in that period, the countries around the world were absorbing especially Jews who were fleeing the holocaust in europe. And because the Ottoman empire also displaced the Jews across their kingdom in the middle-est, many were massacred by their muslim neighbours who then used their IDs to emmigrate to the american countries. This is why you have many communities/families in american countries who pretend to be Jews, but they are observing their muslim doctrine.

    English Standard Version
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” genesis1:26. And
    Mark 12:30-31
    New International Version
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these. There will be love and peace to and from everyone.

I come from a loving Jewish family so it is easy for me to love Judaism but I see how others could feel differently. Rabbis like to talk about the beauty of Judaism and how its ways are ways of pleasantness. But the truth is that much of Judaism is weird or uncomfortable, especially if you were not raised that way. On Shabbes: Why can't I tear toilet paper? The stupid kleenex is plugging up the toilet. Why can't I use bar soap? Why can't use hot water? Why can't take a shower? How do I sit on the toilet and not get my tzitzis dirty? Of course, there are answers why and this is all part of accepted normative traditional Judaism. But what if you are in a Jewish cult, especially if you are a baal tshuva? How easy it would be to be mislead. Rabbis tell you to do hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of strange and bizarre things, many of which don't seem right. But if a cult rabbi tells you just a few more strange things to do, it seems like just another thing to do. Orthodox Jews today have a chumrah battle. Whoever can make Judaism more difficult wins. All the cult rabbi has to do is explain that this is chumrah. Sure no one else does it but we are more frum and God likes us better. As to discipline and violence, it was very common in Eastern Europe before the war for the melamed to hit the kids in cheder. They often had a special whip or cane. Ask any kind of question and whop!! Sheigetz, freyg nit azoi kein kashes (Gentile boy, don't ask any of these kind of questions). So my point is that we must not be so smug and content that our Judaism is not a cult and that we would never fall victim to a cult leader. In some ways, it is only a matter of degree.
