Many worthy covers of this song, not least Depeche Mode's version. I don't think that it's possible to improve upon the original, in the case of this song.

In my opinion Billy's cover is the best one ever done.....so far. His voice was just so sublime and beautiful. My favourite tune of his is the "rhythm divine" version he did of the Yello collaboration with Shirley Bassey. Both beautiful but his cover just pulls at the heartstrings. Sadly missed.

Billy's tragic life and death still haunts me, and during a week of celebrity suicides I wonder why the muse that fosters such creativity and wit in people like Billy...too often ignites a fuse of destruction. Sublime song, as a fan of Sparks and of course Billy, and the Associates. And of course I'm a fan of Mother Earth...may she survive the folly of man.
