I'm from Russia. Most likely it will be obvious, the tone and accent are quite different from the Russian norm, it sounds good in the original(sometimes accent strong, but its clearly japanees actris so its ok), but if you try to repeat it with the same intonation, it sounds like a cringe. In any case, I'm glad that there are more complicated phrases here than privet, vodka, balalaika))
Hey bro, I'm also Russian, here's my theory: voice actress didn't try to get rid of the accent, maybe she even accentuated it to add "cuteness", so it would sound pleasing to a Japanese ear. Let's not forget the main audience is in Japan, not Russia.
I bet most people can tell her japanese accent is too strong.
I don't get it. Japan is big and I bet there'll be at least one Russian living there that's capable of voicing this character, and the Japanese never tried it.

I am Russian guy. You know, at least someone might be embarrassed by the fact that the voice actress has an accent, let's just accept it and enjoy the plot of this anime. I'm sure the voice actress tried to voice her character as best as possible, let's support her. There are a lot of evil people in this world who are too critical of her accent, let's be the ones to give her a pleasant emotion.

@@Phoenix77989 no, the native speaker will not have such an accent, it's just that seyu, like most people born in Asia, finds it difficult to understand how sounds are pronounced in European languages, the same with English, for example, the Japanese constantly turn L into R and R into L and many other examples. there are also many sounds in Russian that are pronounced quite differently, so it is not easy for a non-native speaker to understand how to do it correctly, ideally you need to live in a country with native speakers for several years, and hear them pronounce words, only then you can do it correctly. but the biggest problem is always with the R sound (not all native speakers are able to pronounce it correctly) and the emphasis on the vowel in words. for example, the word " плачу (plachu) with an emphasis on the vowel A means to cry and with an emphasis on the vowel Y means to pay. and there are many such words in the Russian language.

MASACHIKA IS THE BASED MALE MC ROMCOM FOR A WHILE THAT WE HAD, AND HE IS SO RELATABLE. I LIKE HIM A LOT. I thought i'm only going to like Alya, and the other waifus here. It's been such a while since we have this kind of romcom MC where he is less annoying, and is already so likeable from the start. 🗿
I think he reminds me of Bunny-Girl Senpai mc.
Actually don't you loose the interest in seeing him evolve if he is like this frome the start ? I feel like this was truly the strenght of Dangers In My Heart to see the MC become more and more aware of his qualities and confident and that this was enhanced by how shitty of a character he used to be.
Must be pathetic to relate to a 2-dimensional anime character, no wonder you watch this anime; to cope with reality, because irl there’s no way a beautiful mary sue girl would be attracted to a loser.

Before this anime was released, I already thought it would be another self-insert anime with mary sue waifu, and lazy writing that only use tropes, but I was hoping that it’s at least as good or if not, better than Danger in My Heart, but it’s disappointed me more than I thought with disgusting fan service and bland MC.

Honestly, Kuze and Alya's dynamic is already very enjoyable. I also love how, although they are definitely archetypes, they feel down to Earth in a way. Like, Kuze has his "self insert mc" aspects, but for the most part he still feels like his own person, just relatable. And Alya is clearly a tsundere, but she's also no Asuka; Alya at least seems to know when she goes too far and her teasing is more friendly than antagonistic. Their friendship is actually believable. I also like how Alya's crush on him feels fairly realistic and she's not just head over heels for him and it seems like Kuze only sees her as a friend for now.
Also thank god they aren't just relying on the gimmick and the show can just carry itself and use it when needed. At least in episode one anyway; I'm still worried it will evolve into that.
All in all, I don't expect this anime 5o break any cliches or do anything to break the mold, but episode one and seems like it's setting up to be a very good romcom.
Here it is the most anticipated, and one of the best LN romcoms along side Angel Next Door is finally here. This Anime reminds me Nagatoro, and Teasing Master Takagi San with it's Teasing Dynamic Troupe between the two MCs. It's so good i can't wait for more episodes. 🗿

It's actually not broken russian. Grammatically correct only with accent. I can hear that seiyuu has been trying hard and did it pretty well. (I'm russian btw)

Me as an light novel reader just laugh when someone talk about the osananajimi russian girl
Here Is my theory as an anime only:
He fell in love with her sister as a child. They separated and her hair changed to brown when she got older (This happened to me and my brothers according to my parents). She still has feeling for him and says she already has someone (referring to him) and Alya doesn't know about him so she feel for him as well. The "childhood friend" is the 4th wheel in this romance.
If it was her she'd know he understands Russian. It's probably the sister.
This is a theory which i guess i should also say is probably a spoiler.
As a manga reader, when MC first meets Alya's sister, there's some happenstance which leads me to believe that the playground girl IS the sister. My theory is that Doga Kobo just did a goofy with the eye colour.
The fanservice in the manga is much more crazy but we won't get that cause it is an adaption of the LN

I do wonder what'll happen first in the anime, him remembering the girl from his past or her finding out that he understands her Russian? (I am fully caught up in the a manga)
If she finds out he understands her Russian though, she would probably stop using Russian to hide her feelings which would then mean the name of the anime would no longer apply or be accurate to the rest of the story.
If she finds out he knows Russian, we'll need a sequel series called "Alya stopped hiding her feelings in russian".
