That pony cut you off a lot!! In the last several minutes it looked like the pony was chasing you.. Good job.

These horses were on their way to a slaughterhouse. Here they are looking elegant and doing a nice job at a show. How many other horses like this are there that won't be able to be saved. You guys do such an important work and save these precious lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Even though I am in Germany, this issue doesn't know borders and your love and dedication doesn't either.

They both looked so cute!! Zeus had such a nice slow trot in that first class, such a difference from where he started (thinking about the live 😂) so happy for them!

I'm so glad your focus is on the experience for the horses and not the ribbon

I'm from the Netherlands and we don't have classes like this on shows so it took me a moment to figure out what the "purpose" of the class was. Like what is it they are asking for in the walk, trot and canter.. Is it just to let the horse move on its own without any interference from the riders, is the horse supposed to walk with a nice contact and a hide leg that is the "power provider" of the gate, etc honestly.. I didn't figure it out yet. I also wonderd why everyone was using what we call "pancake sadles".. Those super flat sadles with almost no cushions underneath and almost no "seat" for a rider.. We had those kind of sadles like 25 years ago when I got my first pony but I haven't seen them in the last 15 to 20 years. Every country has there own way of doing things and there own style of competitions.. Like if you would like to become a pro barrel racer in the Netherlands you would have a very hard time simply because we don't have that type of competition (well maybe small and very local that are not announced regionally). You do start to see more "working equitation competitions" though.. They are still very small but they are being organized almost once every month or so now! If you compare that to the dressage, jumping or eventing competitions it's still "next to nothing" though. I like that there are so many different types of competitions in the US! Both horses did very nice for a first time and definitely got a positive experience out of it!

Honestly most of the judging makes no sense to me 🤷‍♀️ It's supposed to evaluate rider and horse, that everything is done correctly and how the horse moves, consistent gaits etc.
But usually it ends up being how pretty the horse is..

@@rhfarmstables that sounds very logical after watching these classes 🤣. All were beautiful horses and pony's in their own way but I couldn't find a single clue about what was being judged either 🙈
