Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. This song is so poignant. The parts that she sung breathy were gorgeous too. How moving to see someone's dream from their early years come to pass and be recognized for their talent!

That is true. And also the word is that Angelina arranged the vocal portion of the song. The orchestra arranged the instrumentals possibly with some input from Angelina.

I just want to be different from all the comments already posted LOL. After all this and what you watched, imagine Angelina herself having haters on her posts on social media. I just don't understand how you can try to hurt someone so pure and loving towards fans and the world. She is an inspiration to all... especially upcoming singers. Wonderful reaction, knowing the backstory makes this double the more enjoyable and emotional.
The orchestra KORK (Norwegian radio orchestra of fame) was happy to work once again with their National Treasure. Angelina is something like a hero for the people of Norway and a living role model for many. Keep true to yourself, work hard and focused and your dream might come true.

Thank you for your excellent reaction to this video. For me it was the most sensitive and thoughtful reaction to this video. Your remarks weigh more than some of the reactors of this video that emphasize more on her singing .

Narges Mohammadi's decision of what to do in regards to her commitment to serving her cause or rejoining her family was something we could never consider unless we, ourselves, were in a similar situation. She reminded her family of how much she cared about the issues she stood for and could never agree to the conditions the Iranian government presented to her. Thus, she remains in prison. Another complication was that Narges stated, if released from prison, she has no intention of ever leaving Iran (her family has been living in France). The last we had heard she was on a hunger strike. We pray she is okay and wish, somehow, a compromise of sorts can be achieved so that she can be released. The Nobel Peace Prize Award committee should be congratulated for honoring Narges Mohammadi and her efforts in behalf of the women of Iran. Her two children sat right in front of Angelina when she performed at the Ceremony and although Angelina was nervous she would begin to cry during the performance, instead she performed brilliantly and her emotional delivery touched everyone deeply.
Charlie, I believe there are moments when the you tube people 'look the other way' when it is obvious to them it would be a sin to interrupt such a performance. I know you took a risk but the choice you took was the right one and I and may I speak for all of us, we greatly appreciate what you did and your overall reaction to the entire event. By the way, did Angelina look like a living Angel to you? Vocally and artistically she is supreme but what sets her apart is the genuine soulfulness in her voice. It is not something which has been manufactured or learned how to do. It is real, very real and we feel it in our hearts.

I understand the importance of such a decision. For me personally, the choice I would make over my family is that of my faith. Hopefully, I will never have to choose, and they will be of the same faith as me.

The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony.This performance of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, she reinterpreted this legendary song and adapted it perfectly to the emotion of the homage to the painful story of Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and wonderfully "unchained", probably the only singer who at only 17 years old has already sung on 2 different occasions at the celebrations of Nobel Prizes.💛🧡❤

If you are lucky enough to watch any of the videos of Angelina interacting with any of her family, especially her grandmother, you will quickly see the connection between those two--the love is palpable, a beautiful thing to behold. For me, this was the most beautiful performance of Angelina's career, and its just beginning. Our beautiful angel has come of age. This will be a magical year for Angelina. A story-teller supreme, gifted with a voice like none other. If only the rest of the world would hit pause and take a moment to listen to this young lady sing. Nourishment for the soul, in a very beautiful package.

Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. One of Angelina’s most outstanding gifts (and one which she has demonstrated since early childhood) is her otherworldly ability, completely unmatched by any other artist extant, to extract, and to deliver to her audience, every shred of emotion associated with every song she sings. For many of her songs, not knowing the background or context of her performance would therefore result in an incomplete appreciation of that performance. There is no way, for example, that her transcendent performance of Nico Cartosio's "Song for A" could be fully appreciated without knowing the background story. I must admit that I get somewhat irritated by reactors who just “dive right in”, without bothering to take the little bit of time needed to understand what they are reacting to. This is particularly important with this performance, to appreciate the full impact of the gentle, reverend, utterly beautiful way she chose to present it. Kudos also to the brilliant James Thiel for creating this poignant and beautifully constructed synopsis. This was one of her most magnificent performances ever.

Jordan is pure genius when it comes to making the listener FEEL the lyrics of the song she’s performing. Singing doesn’t adequately describe what she does to a musical piece when she decides to express herself as a songstress. She is simply one of a kind!

Thanks for a wonderful reaction. I'd never seen this long version with all the background of Angelina's aspiration and Narges Mohammadi's sacrifice described so fully. Made me cry yet again, hearing Angelina's sensitive and delicate rendering of a classic, giving it new meaning. I hope Narges has been able to hear this, though I doubt it. It's a brutal regime. People like Mohammadi must stand up against it, though they will be punished for doing so. Hers is an awe-inspiring sacrifice, and Angelina's tribute to it is beyond touching. Peace.

Once again Angelina sprinkled her angel dust on a cover and took ownership of it.
Months ago a reactor noted that Angelina sang this in a wonderfully feminine way.... Different from the GOLD standard of the Righteous Bros. who blasted it in more of a aggressive masculine way.... very, very interesting observation.
