    I don’t think people understand the situation the fawn was in. It was on a trail where a running race was about to start with many runners. I was trying to move the fawn further away from the path so as not to be trampled. If it didn’t move I would have tried to pick it up and move it away from the path.

      it's okay to move fawns not far away
      and it's good you didn't kidnap it

    Normally fawns remain perfectly still when the mother is away . I know this from personal experience. The question is did this person disturb the fawn by being too close recording.

      No question there at all. The idjit with the camera proved to the world he has about 2 brain cells.

      it's likely that the fawn is just too young to know that, they learn that from their mother so this one just hasn't learned it yet

    You are stressing the youngster..He is too weak to run off and is looking for his mother to protect him..Just admire and walk on next time

      It was on a trail where a running race was about to start. I was trying to move it further back from the trail so as not to be trampled. I believe that would have been more stressful then my short interaction with the fawn.

    Please never pet wild fawns. You're spreading your scent all over them.

    • @rohunsaigal2576
      @rohunsaigal2576 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      that is a myth, your "scent" being on them will not matter. You shouldn't pet them though because to them you're a predator and you'll be stressing them out, though. Plus mama might be around the corner and you don't want to get her mad either

      @@rohunsaigal2576 various deer sanctuaries literally said that particularly on the scent part 🤷🏽

      that is a myth.... but they are wild animals and have ticks and flea's that can give you lyme disease 😕

      @@koneyisland1432 It is a myth, but If it helps to keep people from touching and harrassing them it is probably better to stick to the myth.
      Interacting with them can disturb them, can get the attention of predators can seperate them and does usually not much good. What we might percept as cute or playful might be quite the opposite for them.

      @@matekochkoch that is true. It’s just unfair why these cute delicate critters are mainly fodders for almost all predators ugh.
