Tejas is state of the art ? engine made America, pilot seat made in western country , avionics and radar made in isreal and most of parts are made in western countries. Plus tejas comes in the light category thats the reason it's called LIGHT COMBAT AIRCRAFT or LCA and thats the reason why this aircraft is in this video. Gripen is far superior that's the reason why it has been adopted in many countries. Your knowledge about aviation world is very pathetic.

    First time I saw the famous Red Arrows fly was in 1969. I was five and they were refuelling at Glasgow airport (which had only just opened, Renfrew airport was literally at the end of our garden.) and by request they did an impromptu display above our school. They flew the beautiful little folland Gnat T2s . And instilled in me a lifelong love affair with aerospace.
    The Vampire is another of my favourites, which I've been fortunate enough to spend some time helping restore an FB V . Good that he mentioned it's original name 'the Spider Crab.' Thus called for its pod n boom design.
    Oh and most of the images shown (all those in color) of the MiG 9 Fargo, are actually of a MiG 15 UTI . The Fargo was powered by two BMW 003 Trophy axial turbojets. The MiG 15 UTI by one RR Nene centrifugal turbojet. Both German jets 004 & 003 were manufactured in the USSR by Tummanskii. (Excuse my spelling) Great videos these. Thanks.

      @@Texas_Engineer_Mike why for the mother bomber? u dont think flying without escort over enemy terretory with BFs and Fokkers and god knows what else on their tails was more dangerous that carry that little support fighter?

    • @Texas_Engineer_Mike
      @Texas_Engineer_Mike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@naomy1701 no no just carrying it wasn't a problem for mother-bomber. The thing is when Goblin had to come back it had to somehow be catched under mother-bomber which was too dangerous due to turbulences caused by mother bomber itself. Goblin could be easily damaged in the process because it had a very light structure and as a plane it was really small which means that it was not as stable as normal jet.
      Maybe Goblin would be a thing in ww2 if late P-51 or P-38 models with extended range and fuel capacity didn't exist. If so Airforce would probably just rush the project but as I said Goblin was unstable and in real dogfight (even with size advantage) it would be pretty bad.

      Yeah these never actually happened. Hardly even tested really. WAAAAY too many issues to attempt to work out for it to be viable. I mean just think of the myriad problems, payload of the bomber, payload of the fighters, refueling and rearming, space concerns for all the extra pilots and air craft while still carrying an appreciable bomb load. Then there are the issues of actually landing the aircraft and moving it back into a stowed position and all the mechanics involved therein. Standoff and cruise weapons were a much more viable option to keep bombers safe while dealing with targets in contested air space. They allowed for firing of munitions from several hundred miles away in the most extreme of circumstances allowing the bomber to stay outside of AA and SAM systems. Then Project Have Blue came along and the F117 was born and stealth proved to be even more effective than a parasite system could dream of being for a bomber. Now drone tech is so good if air space is that contested just don't send a pilot in at all.

      Now the older North American T-6 Texan on the other hand that's no longer in military service can be bought by civilians as used. They made like 15000 of them.

      We're beginning to see countries choose one of three options: high, low, or high-low mix for their air forces. The U.S. and USSR first developed the hi/lo concept with F-15/F-16 and Su-27/MiG-29, respectively. The U.S. went to replace this with F-22/F-35, but (stupidly) cut F-22 production too early. India, on the other hand, has been all over the place, operating their Su-30MKI fleet along with SEPECAT Jaguars, MiG-21s, MiG-29s, Rafales, Mirage 2000 and Tejas. In my humble opinion, they should decide on an eventual fifth-gen replacement for the MKIs in the coming years and either develop the Tejas further or cut it. I know they need the Jaguar for nuke delivery, but the Rafale can fill that role as it does for the French. The number of aircraft types being operated by the IAF has to be a gigantic expense.

    The smallest of military aircraft were the reconn planes of the late 1980's & early 1990's. USA & Russia, developed similar versions. They could ride inside a C-5 or 747 & Russia's variant would be in a An-124 or II-96. The planes would be towed-out of the belly by a crane/grappling hook, wings unfolded, and sent on it's way, to take images at speeds exceeding mach 3, using a ramjet thrust-vectored engine. Very short flight, due to fuel consumption. Plane would then meet-up with it's parent, lock-on to the crane arm, and be brought back into the cargo hold. With ramjet and Mach 3-plus technology way-back-then, imagine what they use now.
