Hey man. I appreciate the video also. Mines been intermittently throwing these code lights for about a year. I changed the fuse and it was instantly fixed. Thanks again
Thanks for the video by seein this video saved me over 2,000 dollars as i talked with John Deere bout the problem an they told me it would bout 2,000 dollars to repair it an with yer video i spent around 50.00 dollars to repair it bein i had to replace the fuse block also but it fixed the problem keep up the great work i cant thank ya enough for the video
Been having an intermittent issue with the power steering on my 825M. Have not torn into it yet but willing to bet it will be something similar. Thanks for the posting the video.
Glad it helped y’all out. We searched and searched and couldn’t find any info out there when we were trying to figure out what was going on. We decided to make the video on case anybody else had the same issue. One guy told me he was quoted over $2,000 by John Deere to fix there’s. They found our video and turned out they had the same issue as us.
Thank you so much. My 835M just coded the same, BUT...I turned it off and the instrument panel was clear. At least now.. I know where to chase it if and when it happens again. You saved us all a lot of $$$ and downtime. Love that you quote God's Word at and of video. I'm now subscriber
Man those forums are great provided there is some input, and I'm afraid as the "electronics" progress this will be more-and-more common, I am really glad and somewhat surprised y'all were able to reset the warning/notification lamp(s) my truck I have to use my OBD scanner and have software/app that will "talk" to the ECM😵💫new tractors are also painful due to the same owner constraints😥
I agree. It’s getting harder and harder to repair things at home without the proper technology to do so. I am surprised too that it just reset itself. Eric was pretty set on us just having to take it to John Deere
My 835m is doing a similar thing but i can turn the gator off the on and it clears up but it gets worse and worse. the light is not flashing so not sure if this would help but worth checking out video was very informative thank guys
appreciate the info! I have 590M S4 and couldn't locate that particular fuse in that location. However, there is a fuse box next to the battery does yours have a fuse box there as well? I put a battery tender on and the indicator went away.
You've got a lot of mud and dirt inside your gator. Time for a good washing then afterwards treat every connector, fuse and terminals with dielectric grease. My 2017 825i has 11,000 miles and 650 hours. I drive it daily here in New Hampshire. Road salt has killed the exhaust system and some of the engine bay electrical connectors to my cargo box lift pump. My steering rack just died. Like gears broke inside the rack. My labor saved alot of money but I don't have much confidence in Deere's quality when a component like that fails.. Gator UP ‼️👍
We are in and out of chicken houses and pastures daily so there is a lot of mud and chicken litter tracked in the gator. We just had an issue with the steering as well. In the middle of getting it repaired. Sounds like a very similar problem.
THANKS FOR SHARING. I have an 865R and it just started doing the same thing. Gonna look and see if the fuse is in the same place. What part number was it (if you still have it) and what did JD charge you for it if you don’t mind sharing. Thanks again.
It was a Bussmann 50 amp fuse i'm pretty sure. You can get it a most auto stores. I think Home Depot or Wal Mart may even carry it. It's about $10 or so. We did the work ourselves so all it cost us was some time diagnosing and then buying the fuse. The repair is not real difficult. John Deere tried to charge a friend of ours who had the same problem over $2,000. They were wanting to replace part of the power steering I believe.
I have the same problem on a 2018 xuv 835r and only see wiring harness in the location you show. is it possible for the fuse to be inside the plastic tubing?
On Eric’s gator it wasn’t in any tubing. If you take that bottom skid plate off and then follow the hot lead from the battery back towards the drivers side you should find that fuse. It was about 10-12” in line from the battery
I’m having the problem now on my 2019 865M gator they said the electric power steering box is bad and Deere knows they have a problem but want $1700 for the new system because they upgraded it
@The Grumpy Farmer I ended up taking the battery out cleaning the terminals and giving it a good charge and it seemed to work, on the new ones the fuse is in this video is actually under the hood near the fuse box with a cap on it

Thank you I have a 590 doing the same but like you said nothing else in the manual to help ! I appreciate your input

We have that problem with our 865R. Thanks this was a great help.
Glad it helped
Thanks! My 590 does this intermittently, now I know where to start looking!
Hope that’s all it is. Fairly easy to replace
Great one! Excellent finding, thanks bunches for sharing! Major thumbs up!
Thanks!

Thank you for the info! I have an 835m with the same issue, glad i didn't have to go to the dealer

Thanks for the video and the verse!
Thanks for watching!
Good Job Troubleshooting. That would have been a lot more expensive had you taken it to the dealership! Love the Bible verse at the end!
Thanks 👍
Thank you for the video, I haven't had any problems with it yet ,but I will write that in my book where that's located.
Thank y’all for this ✌🏻
Good job guys! We were having the same issue!
Thanks! It was hard to find any info about it on the internet so we decided to do a video to hopefully help some others. Glad you found our video
Thank you! I have a 855R having the same light. But the assist goes in and out. I will be finding that fuse tomorrow!
Good Luck
You literally saved me a trip!
Glad we could help
We had same problem, but couldn't find the fuse. Ours is under warranty (by a week!); we had them come and pick it up. Ours is an 835M
I have heard on some newer models they have moved the fuse to a different location. Sounds like y'all got lucky with it still being under warranty.
Thank you so much 👍👍👍 hey I got one of those jackets for Christmas 👍👍🇺🇸🇨🇱
Hope our video helped. I really like that jacket. Wear it all the time!

I believe they changed the location of the fuse at some point. I don't think this one has a fuse box there.
This was a great help..
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻

Thanks. I found it at Orileys. The exact one JD use. $5.98 each.
Got the fuse this morning. Plugged it in. Started up the gator and code is gone!!!
Awesome!
Thank you
835 m. Exact same problem Thank you
Great!

Thanks
Hey man. I have a 2023 835r an the radio is saying g low voltage an theblower motor will go down to low
Not sure about that one. We haven't had that problem.
Is there a power steering reservoir?
I don’t think so. We couldn’t ever find one.
You get it fixed. And do you upload to tik Tok
Got it back going! We do some videos on Tiktok @farmer.hunt. I go back and forth on getting rid of it
The 865M had the same problem, John Deere wanted $2500 for a so called updated part.🤷
Goodness that is outrageous. Were you able to fix it?
@@FarmerHunt I did....took longer to get the relay out than anything it was pretty much rotted in the socket.
My brother has the Grumpy Farmer channel on TH-cam I'm sure he will put something up about the little experience he had with John Deere
@@douglasdennison5701 thanks! I’ll check it out.
Went until you have to change a starter.
Is that a pain? Haven't had to do that yet. How many hours did you have when yours went out?
@@FarmerHunt a lot we run them and rangers on our poultry farm here in north Louisiana. Just found y’all’s channel it’s like my every day.
Had this exact thing happen, thanks gentlemen!
