    I just bought this winch, its my first one, i want to know if apex is better than zxr

      I believe the biggest difference between the two are rope type and weatherproofing. APEX has a higher weather-resistant rating than the ZXR and also has a synthetic line which is lighter weight than the galvanized steel wire rope and just as strong. I am not sure if the ZXR comes with the wireless remote? The ZXR might be a little cheaper but as far as pulling power, they are the same. I prefer the looks, weatherproofing, synthetic line and wireless remote personally. Mine has been a workhorse and I love it.

      I think you will be extremely happy with it. I don't think the ZXR is as protected from the elements as the APEX. I have used a few of the smaller ZXR ATV winches to help pick up large Hay rounds and they last a few years but always crap out due to the lack of weatherproofing.

    tested how far the winch controller will work wirelessly i was able to get about 150 feet feet away before it started loosing connectivity. Was very impressed. Wonderful winch great video go patriots!

      Thanks for watching the video! Yeah, the wireless controller is great, and I have not had a single issue so far with the winch.
      I really hope the Pats turn it around with the new offensive coordinator and O line coach. It was difficult watching Mac Jones struggle. So ready for the season to begin!!

      @@86Ctopher that’s awesome that’s exCtly what I wanted to hear! As far as pats I agree watching Mac was rough to watch I hope they either build somthing around him or start over everybody wanted him to be the next Brady but there will never be another Brady lol

      Sadie is amazing. Unfortunately, Shadow passed away last month. This was super sad but then it opened the door for Odin to come into our lives. He is a fantastic German Shepherd who looks like he used to work the streets with a K9 unit busting down drug dealers. Thanks for the comment!

    I own 4 of these winches. I overuse them. I do not follow the instructions and I have never had a problem.

      Excellent! Just in time before all the bad weather hits! I have really enjoyed having a dependable winch and it has pulled everything I throw at it without a problem. Just keep an eye on that synthetic line and wind it up tight during your install. 👍

    Pulling bushes with a 12,000 pound winch is like swatting flies with a Mack truck! 7:30 Sadie is thinking "I sure hope he doesn't think I dug this hole!" I bought this same winch a week ago. Need to figure out how to mount it to the front of my '04 Trailblazer EXT.

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. I think the house shifted 3 inches to the North!!! lol. Sadie is awesome and was definately worried about her hiding spot. Good luck on finding a solution. Here are some ideas that might help... www.4wheelparts.com/v/chevrolet-trailblazer/winches/bumper-winch-mounting-kits/_/N-1spijZcleds

      @@86Ctopher Thanks for the link! At the same time I bought the winch I bought the universal winch mount plate they have as well. I'm thinking I'll use that and the stock steel bumper as the basis to fab something up. The only pre-made winch bumper I could find for the TB is the Blue Lake Off-Road bumper. It's a really nice bumper, but at $1,145 for a basic winch bumper, it's not really in this po-boys budget. I have a welder, and I know how to use it! So how do you like the winch after 7 months of use?

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flyboy2610 The winch has done great with some of the daily chores around the property and has even helped pull a few people out of trouble. Just knowing it's there in case I need it really allows me to enjoy the adventure even more. just set that line tight once you get it installed. I noticed a few spots on the synthetic line that looked like it may have gotten a little warm due to the friction. I am not sure if that is common for all synthetic ropes but something to be aware of.

    Evelyn and I really enjoyed the new video about the near effortless bush removal technique you used, ha, ha. Beats digging them out by hand for sure, ha, ha. Loved it so much had to go back into you archive and viewed the "Uncharted" and Colorado Vacation video's again. Love your work. Can't wait to see Lot's more.

      I haven't really had an issue with overheating. I would agree that it would cause issue if you were in constant need of pulling heavy loads.

      I used the Warn 62132 power interrupted kit. it includes the solenoid, a switch and wire. you may find it cheaper but Amazon has them here WARN 62132 Power Interrupt Kit with Battery Lead, Hardware, Solenoid, Switch and Wiring www.amazon.com/dp/B000CQFVN8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_SGFV40RA13ABRFVS8Q4H

    How's the winch working out?

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it's been great Justin. I have used it more than a few times dragging huge telephone pole and other odd jobs around the house and look forward to more trail use and helping others when winter comes. I have noticed that the synthetic line does have a few areas that appear to have gotten hot with some possible friction from not being pulled in under tension prior to a hard pull. This is my first synthetic line but others have had the same issue with other brands. Something to keep an eye on during future pulls to see if it gets worse. 🤔
