Too Bad the Rams did not stick with Harris or Jaworski over the little engine that couldn't in Pat Haden.

this post from 10/03/1976 rams vs dolphins was super indeed WHERE I THINK THAT GAME WAS JAMES HARRIS' CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sad to say the following week on 10/11/1976 in a monday night game against the san francisco 49'ers james harris and the rams lost 16 to 0 !!!!!!!!!!! james harris WAS SACKED 10 TIMES ( i am not joking) and james harris WAS HIT 44 TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in that game harris suffered multiple concussions, neck and rib injuries!!!!!!!!!!! james came back a month later on a monday night game on the road against the cincinnati bengals !!!!!!!!!!! i gave harris a B rating but his reactions from all those concussions were slow and methodical and even when he got hit a few times james harris would walk gingerly and slowly off the field !!!!!!!!!!!!!JAMES HARRIS WAS NEVER EVER THE SAME AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!from that point on pat haden became the rams quarterback and occasionally the rams gave ron jaworski a chance !!!!!!!!!!!! a healthy james harris would have made a 500% diffrence for the rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if james harris had a weakness it was that james had a SLOW release where he could be susceptible and vulnerable of getting hit more and hard by opposing defenses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nevertheless there is a happy ending!!!! when the ravens beat the giants in super bowl 35, ozzie newsome who was the head of player personnel and his assistant of player personnel JAMES HARRIS received super bowl world champion rings !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say that I was very disappointed in the commentary from Tom Brookshire, because you can tell that he continued to not give James Harris the credit that he deserved during his record breaking passing performance (436yds). But then I remembered that during that time the black quarterback was not treated fairly. He also had to look over his shoulder constantly throughout his time with the Rams especially when Pat Hayden arrived in 1975, and I would assume that the fact that they lost those playoffs to the vikings and cowboys (1973-76) didn't help much at all!!.

James Harris bombs Dolphins' vaunted zone pass defense: First game-winning, 400-yard passing performance by an African American QB in NFL history. "The ball travels well in the Orange Bowl," Harris joked.

@Randall Denison The owner forced Head Coach Chuck Knox to bench Harris and start Haden. The only thing Haden has on Harris was blonde hair and blue eyes. It's called bigotry, numbskull.

@@JAWrightonline the rams vs dolphins game in 1976 MIGHT HAVE BEEN JAMES HARRIS' CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT where he threw for over 400 yards WITH A BROKEN THUMB!!!!!!!!!! the next week was a monday night game against the 49'ers at home WHERE JAMES HARRIS' was sacked 10 TIMES and was HIT 44 TIMES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sad to say james harris SUFFERED MULTIPLE CONCUSSIONS from that monday night game and NEVER EVER was the same again !!!!!!!!!!james harris had chronic headaches which would not go away!!!!!!!!!!!! james had a decent game at best against the cincinnati bengals but his REACTIONS ON THE FIELD WERE EXTREMELY SLOW since he still was suffering from multiple concussions from that 49ers game!!!!!!!!!! his headaches WERE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE, so that is why the rams had to start pat haden and occasionally ron jaworski !!!!! if anything the rams dynamic owner carroll rosenbloom WAS PROTECTING JAMES HARRIS because if the truth came out about james harris' multiple concussions some of these "SAVAGE RIGHT WING CRITICS" would say that james harris WAS NOT TOUGH ENOUGH which is complete rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!!! nevertheless the great news is that when the baltimore ravens beat the new york giants in super bowl 35 ozzie newsome was in charge of player personnel!!!!!! do you know who ozzie newsome's assistant was?,,,,,,,,,,JAMES HARRIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so james harris DID GET A SUPER BOWL RING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a Ram fan. In 1976 I was 8 years old. I lived in Baltimore but not a Colt fan. The Redskins were my team. I gave all of that because Im going to talk about James Harris. I remember Harris as a Ram and Charger for a second. Doug Williams. reminds me a lot of Harris. Tall, not extra mobile, but he can move around, and you gotta bring some wood if you're gonna tackle him. As we saw Harris had a game against the Dolphins, showing his "real true" potential. What I saw in this game is proof that coaches had a lot to do with screwing over some black QBs. Now Chuck Knox is a run. run, and run some more coach, and he I'm sure didn't want to see Harris balling out in the pocket. The coaches back then would bring these drop back, strong armed black QBs in and NOT build a offensive game plan around their skills, but stick these guys in a unimaginative offense where they throw the football on 3rd down and never dictate to the defense. We saw Harris straight ballin', making all the throws, gunning it deep down field to his speedy recievers Ron Jessie and Harold Jackson. If Harris would have had a coach that would craft the offense around Harris, he would have been much better than his stats indicated. The same hapoened to Williams in Tampa. Run...Run.. and more run, and when he got a chance to throw it was usuallt on predictable down and distance plays that usually was defended properly. Never give them a rhythm. Always as a "oh well". Then when çalled on to do it in pressure situations, snake eyes. The ' know, but yet continued to boo him right out the Colosseum. At least he has this one game to say, I could've done it regularly, but....

1976 was near the end for Ali. He wound up doing some stunts like a match for the WWF( As it was called then), fought Japanese Antonio Inoki (In which his legs were kicked so much he head massive blood clots and almost had to have a leg amputated). He had to keep fighting and doing these stunts because he was almost broke. His inner circle, including some of his own family had siphoned off most of Ali's money. Going as far as submitting phony receipts. The Nation of Islam had drained Ali as well, that being one of the reasons Ali split with them in the 70s. Ali would beat Ken Norton in 1976, a decision that was not popular, split a pair of uninspiring fights with Leon Spinks (Claiming the title for the third time) and ended his career with a horrid fight vs Larry Holmes.
