    Nice & Good explains about Solar DC cable selection & voltage. I have some suggestion to include site minimum to maximum temperature for Vmp calculation. For calculation of Vd(%) you must put the value of Vmp at minimum temperature (For safer side). Otherwise good explain 👍

    I have 18 panels of 585 watt having Short Circuit Current of 14.55 amp. Plus Solis Ongrid 10kw 3 phase inverter.
    I want 2 strings of 9 panels each.
    The distance from panels to inverter is 100 feet or 31 meters.

      Basically I mean you can .2 as derating factor for cable current capacity in ground mounted system.

    How can current increase with grouping factors and temperature factors?
    Dccc should be calculated by dividing the current of the cable by the derating factors and you will get the actual current that will flow in the cable...

    • @electrical-sajid
      @electrical-sajid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Current is not increasing in the calculation. It just means by adding derating factors and all. You need to choose such cable that is rated for that current.

    • @electrical-sajid
      @electrical-sajid  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question anamay,
      It has many reasons.
      1. important reason is like I said in the video it is because all the module manufacturers use 4sqmm cable at output.
      2. connection of module in parallel is also required in off grid and other applications so I should carry that current.
      3. is the termination problem with 2.5sqmm cable. For strength and durability.
      4. The resistance of the cable is high that will lead to more losses at high temperatures at application is in sun.

    • @electrical-sajid

      From where to where ?
      From panel to inverter use 4sqmm (if panels are in series)
      If the panels are in parallel and distance is more than 10 m then I suggest to go for 6sqmm cable.
      From inverter to battery : consider maximum output current of inverter. For 2km it is around 9 to 10Amps.
      6sqmm should be more than sufficient (incase your load is only ac and less than 2kW)
