El personal en este tema es: Charles Mingus (bajo); Don Pullen (piano); Benny Bailey (trompeta); Gerry Mulligan (saxo barítono); George Adams (saxo tenor) y Dannie Richmond (batería). Siempre es un dato necesario.
it's interesting how Mingus has a unique sound that is easily recognizable, he reminds me somewhat of Beethoven, in the sense that there is certain darkness ever present underneath the melody, hinting at something deeply melancholic
I heard this Mingus group in Norrkoping, Sweden obviously without Gerry M. and Benny B. Small auditorium, close to stage, Very impressed by Pullen and Adams. Pullen could play anything that night, and did. Walrath was hesitant at every solo, but played ok. Danny Richmond elegant as ever, Their personalities came through, and Mingus was in a great mood, possibly under the influence. Glad I went.
Mulligan looking happy! He could be moody on stage. He really digs Benny Bailey, who I met when he lived in Holland. Nice guy, and an asset for the local scene even as a trumpeter over 70. Mulligan starts his solo out of tune, but after a few bars, he is okay.
Did someone forget to give Mulligan the changes?! After looking at Benny Bailey with such tenderness during his solo, I expected so much more from the Bari.
I love Mingus, I love this song, I love anything this man has done.
I love watching the expression of pleasure, of pure joy, of Baritone sax Gerry Mulligan's face when Benny Bailey is doing his solo on the trumpet
Its amazing. Me too.
Benny Bailey's solo seemed to be a maternal affection, how many memories must have awakened in Gerry Mulligan. wonderful.
I concur. Only music can gert people in that intimate mutual understanding

OBRIGADO 💙💙
Mingus´ solo on bass is not just one of the most moving ones, it is the most moving in a row of most moving solos on bass in history !!
How could Mingus create such great music?? That's beyond comprehension.

The trumpet solo is out of this world
So beautiful
Great performance

At 9:50 it was like "Get outta way, what about my solo? You wanna get fired or what?" :P

Don Pullen's style is oddly beautiful
Es ist für eich, my never ending trumpet section.

+ricardo moyano no lo sé hermano, no lo sé.
that is what jazz players do...
en el jazz no sigues la partitura al pie de la letra, si tienes tu propia idea adelante eres libre de hacerla escuchar
that's your first time listening to jazz?
Dannie Richmond my absolute father

Charles Mingus, great composer: The angry man of jazz.
Jack Walrath on trumpet

He was there in spirit but maybe had trouble getting into the Mingus vibe - don’t know if he was a regular with the group.
Lg27up
gene munny brought me here
A lot of outa tune notes on that trumpet. Had to give up on it.
This interprétation is so weak,,,,,i love Mingus for more than 65 years....but this is horrible 😮😮
Apart from the bass and drums this aint much cop at all.
It's a sparse (and very sad) tune which really works on the record.
Not so good here.
I still think is a great perfomance
And I love that pianist
@@espectro3914 It's Don Pullen
