If you like this form factor you should use an iPhone SE as it’s the same phone with a fingerprint scanner and an A9 chip. The phone, although no longer supported by iOS 16, runs iOS 15.7.3, which will be updated throughout 2023 and probably 2024. The SE I have can run any application and provides a perfect web-browsing experience.
You still can use social media, and the camera is still better than so many Android phones. Music works, youtube. The only issue is some apps won't work and banking especially is a concern. Other than that, as a person who uses social media and youtube and the camera is still great, this is my primary phone as of March 2023 which was Officially released in 2013. Man stood the time of a decade and is still good. Hats off to Apple for the way they designed it.

iPhone 5S actually has a fingerprint scanner built-in to the home button, if you don't have a fingerprint scanner, then maybe it's the iPhone 5 that you have there, because that one doesn't have a fingerprint scanner.

iPhone 5s also has Touch ID 1st gen (the same as in the SE) but otherwise everything you said is a good point
