Yeah it took too damn long! Heathcote is a great venue but a long drive from Melbourne. They used to run twilight club racing at Calder where they linked the main circuit to the Thunderdome. A long long lap, those were the days.
@@Sterling_Archer777I'm not surprised in the current financial situation in the entire country, but it would be very sad to see Heathcote close. They did so much to update and get it going again recently. I grew up going to Calder for everything from street to top fuel drags, circuit and Thunderdome races. With a little drag racing there myself decades ago.
King of the dash mat reflexes 👌🏻👌🏻 it just topped of the video well done Scotty I think this car is going to be a fun one 110% has to feature at a power cruise somewhere in due time just seeing how it loves to get messy on the roll as soon as she comes up on boost 👍🏻

So good to see you able to enjoy the fruits of your labours Scotty. It's a really cool sleeper, I love it. At least it didn't break in a bad way - even if it did mean a late night!
Agreed, the camera and editing on this one were mint. I reckon Matt is a big part of getting the 'feel' of Carnage just right, helps that he genuinely seems to love this stuff too. Can't wait to see what this beast of a car does on its next run!
Electronic wastegate could be a cool addition to help you off the line, would make interesting content on boost control strategies too. Good work Scotty, great build so far
Scotty, you're Spidey senses are improving car by car. The next dash mat will not even get a chance to leave the dash with those ninja reflexes 🤘😅 #hldyoda
Well done Scotty, just noticing on your roll racing they were mashing it right on the green well before you were... pretty sure they would've been hosed by the might of Hoyota.
can't be top notch the first time out. we'd have no content to watch and we can't have that can we? been waiting for a while for this one and will keep watching to make sure you get that 10 and maybe even a 9
The converter is definitely a bit tight. It helps for dyno numbers but the 60 ft is getting slaughtered by it. My Fairmont used to do exactly the same. It'd stroll out to the 60 like a flat diesel and then launch. Hugely frustrating.
Love your work as always Scotty! The dash mat again gave me a good laugh haha. Sucks that the alternator packed it in right as you were about to go home. Will be interesting to see if you nail down that weird vibration, I'm super curious about that too. Also be interesting to see what you do with the brakes. Keep up the good work and content mate, looking forward to the next one!!
Oh yes, the shakedown shit show! It's like calling heads or tails on everything with a hand full of coins at once.....Either way still a good run, just get the stoppers and that vibration sorted before you need all new fillings. Anyone else waiting for a "f#@koff" when the dash mat went full send?
Awesome video....now I'm waiting for the Ute to come out and play....then I can decide my new fav car of Carnage fleet. Even with a big ass turbo strapped to the Toyota V8, I have found a whole new respect for a motor I knew little about.
Hey Scotty. The car you remind me of is a 1995 Nissan Pulsar SSS 5 door hatchback. With turbo - Grandpa spec look. Factory. All the wonders of my Asperger's sense of humour. From Bill.
If those are 16 inch "pursuit" steelies you can fit 300mm slotted rotors and the factory 4 piston calipers on it pretty cheaply and easily. If you chuck some 17 inch alloys on it you can go with 330mm (14 inch) two piece rotors and 6 piston aftermarket calipers from Hoppers Stoppers - they're pricey, but when you hit them hard you'll be peeling your eyeballs off the inside of the front windscreen...
Nah needs interceptors all around with Toyota lexcen hubcaps and street radials on the rear obviously when it’s raced rear hubcaps have to be removed for safety reasons. Interceptors and chrome trims will make you start to have a second look at the rig
that converter seems really tight, its not even that big of a turbo for the 1UZ either, that will be an easy mid/low 10 second car once that is sorted ! absolute powerskid machine though haha
Im sorry Scotty. I call golfs slowboys for a reason 😅 Hopefully youll get it hooked up and use all that power its got. Love the build, love the channel!
Hey scotty good test session finding the smaller issues with no major problems looking forward too faster times .From watching the build with available space in engine bay what are the best options with the lack of a brake booster ? Hiace booster mounted inside , small booster in engine bay with electric vacuum pump or some other direction ? Im guessing there are no of the shelf kits for a 1uz into a lexcen braking system.
Still, Lexcen went A to B with no problems, so I'd call that a win on it's first drag strip run! My last build was a 709 whp 1997 Civic coupe with a fully built LSVTEC turbo and it was SCARY fast on drag radials, but I could never really get a clean time out of it without slicks and a fully dialed suspension.
That vibration seems pretty severe Scotty, even saw quite a bit of scuttle shake between the steering column and dash early in the runs, is the column bolted down solid?
awwww... fuckin alternators... Back in the 90's I seized one on the way to sydney from melbs... Drove there and back with a nike shoelace turning the waterpump. Fucked the battery at the end of the trip too.

I had a similar problem with my dash mat. Saw a tip to use a ziptie through the matt and to the dash screen vents and problem fixed.

Last one of these we did went 11.0 at 137mph with 455rwhp. Gotta be plenty left in it.
That was on a roller dyno however.

a nice upgrade for brakes are group A vn or VS 5000 2 pot calipers and 330mm fronts work well with standard booster and master.

Spray will fix. 😂 or a convertor. The mph shows it’s potential. Nice.
How's your luck - At Summernats you couldn't get it to spin the tyres from a dead stop, and now here at the roll racing you can't stop it spinning...
