I used to live in the estate area, and even when we walked all the way to the roundabout where there is a small crossing and attempted to cross there, cars still wouldn't make much of an effort to stop. It was quite tedious and scary just to get to Tesco's or B&Q on foot (which is why we often preferred to just shop at Morrisons).
Thank you for bringing this to light, I agree it really should have a crossing even if it’s just a zebra, it wouldn’t cost the council much when it would inevitably be saving lives and we really don’t want to make people more reliant on their cars then they have to be
Good one Gabe. I've looked on street view. How can anyone say the pedestrian crossing with lights is convenient? It's too far away and in the wrong direction. Crossing "facilities" right on top of roundabouts also have their dangers if not controlled. What these folk are asking is common sense and quite reasonable. Hopefully this video will have been a help.
*apologies for the last comment I left (seems it's been deleted anyway). After reading even more into it, it seems the article I posted link to did not give the cleanest approach to the subject, thus making it misleading and technically rendering my initial comment invalid. Do I feel like a muppet? Of course, though I've not been entirely well recently..... perhaps I should take a break from internet stuff for a bit. Anyway, thankyou Gabriel for your superb vids and thankyou Glastonbury for being a truly amazing and unique place!
100% Agree because when your on a scooter coming from Tesco I don't want to dodge traffic to cross the road at the roundabout much prefer a crossing by millstream.
That's untrue if they walk down the road towards the right there's a crossing near Colin White's which is before the other roundabout! Just being lazy not walking to the crossing, it's only a 40 limit which isn't bad.
I’m sorry i disagree. Are you able bodied? Do you have to walk to the supermarket with kids and return with kids and heavy shopping. Lazy. Hmm so judgemental 😀
The traffic lights crossing puts an extra 2 miles to the journey. Yes definitely the safest option. Currently people are not doing that so for the road users and pedestrians a crossing sounds like a much needed plan. I hope they get one especially for those who are less able.
@@mrstiggywinkle I’m not quite sure where you’ve got 2 miles from. There are crossings like I’ve just mentioned and I’m not sure where you expect the money to come from, it won’t be from a skint council to cater for a single housing estate. A ‘plan’ very much not needed
This is a cause worth fighting for, good job you are helping drawing attention to this. Nice one Gabe.
I appreciate that!

There’s a pedestrian crossing just down road
I did think that but for old people etc that’s quite a lot of extra distance going down the road and back up.
A great use of your channel Gabriel - good luck with the campaign!
Thanks a lot!

Hi Alex thanks for this. I did not take down your original post so I do not know what happened there

Based and truepilled! Swear there used to be a crossing here back in the day, bring it back!

Use the traffic lights 200 yards down the road or the split island crossing 50 yards up the road. What a load of nonsense 😂

I suspect the skint Somerset council will say to use the pelican crossing by Benedict Street.
@@mrstiggywinkle Looking on Google Maps, the distance to the crossing is 0.2 miles, and it's rounding up.
