The episode was fun, i just wish it wrapped up better. Wasnt a huge fan of the women being her. Feel like it shouldve been another member of the pantheon, but i can get over it. This episode did however remind me of the clyde langer episode in sarah jane adventures which i think was written better. Id give it a 7, was gonna be a 6 but it was shot very very well and i thought ruby held the story well without the doctor present

Some ambiguity is fine but this episode was like an undercooked burger. Delicious all round the outside, but incomplete in some vital ways. If, as a writer, you expect to make frequent reference to an important plot detail (the apparition scares everyone away) then use it as the culmination of the story (with Roger ap William) but never explain it, then as a writer YOU HAVE TO EARN IT. Why as a viewer should I be ok with you just pulling wild, unlikely things out of your ass and never bothering to explain? That's not skilled writing, it's either amateur, which clearly is not the case, or it's INCREDIBLY LAZY AND CONDESCENDING. At least hint a a reason why it's unknowable. That would put some little legs under the stool, however fragile, instead of leaving it floating in the air for everyone to gawk at. It sets off my B.S. detector. And certainly don't, instead, double-down by also not really explaining if and how Ruby was that apparition all along. I mean, honestly. Ambiguity can be quite enjoyable, to a point.... but past that it becomes disrespectful of the audience.

There's no answer that will explain it though, it's eldritch and unknowable. There is no single phrase or thing that could terrify somebody like that, it's whatever is the scariest thing a person can imagine.

Why is the title "DOCTOR WHO 73 YARDS EXPLAINED"?
The first half of the video is spent gushing over the episode and the second half of the video is spent with wild conjecture that has no real basis in the episode itself.

My theory is that the Fairys are sick and like to toture humans out of spite at times from bordem and hate. Even tho on Torchwood the side show of doctor who. Showed that the fairys are/were human and dont have that much empathy for humans unless they are the chosen one. The fairy episode was bit of a horror episode but not sure if there is a reason of why the exist or just a mystery and powerful entity for the doctor and or humans. They can manipulate time but nore so sure of space. They can seem evil being but they also look like they are just existing and theyre aging isnt understood and other things. They seem like mini gods of how they were showing it. Could just be a 4th or 5th dimental being that isnt very understood by the doctor as he does travel through space and time and debate that he is a 4th dimental being. But he also just is a 3rd dimental being that can travel through space and time. But the fairys could also just be 3rd dimental that just can travel through space and time too. 😅 thats how i can explain it lol 😆 still alot of questions if not more

This ep was fine, but the issue I had was that it left waaaaayyy too many questions unanswered, I dont mind it when they do that but in this case they left way too much to interpretation

It was interesting but made no sense.
A timeloop only really works as a timeloop. She breaks the timeloop by not interacting with the circle, so none of this ever happened. Which then doesn't explain why the rip Mad Jack note was pulled from the future in the first place. Nor does it even try to explain why an apparition of her future self is stalking her, nor why it is locked at exactly 73 yards, nor why anyone who talks to it goes insane/hates Ruby. Even the using the apparition to speak to Mad Jack didn't really make sense. Especially seeing as no one ever talks to the apparition unless Ruby points it out to them first. She only makes that connection because of the note and what the Doctor said before he vanished.
It just felt like the director throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. None of the pieces are cogent. It has the aesthetic of a thoughtful, interesting story. But none of the coherent throughline that actually carries it.

I think we will have answers as we go forward...there is something connecting everything so far and we have yet to see it all come together.

If you feel you needed to attempt to explain the episode the writer of the plot didn't do his job adequately.
