I also saw it and immediately added a comment, then deleted it lol. They also seem to be getting the normal firing rules mixed up with gunnery team. I saw a lot of passed second shots on the same ship.
mate you are using intel officers too much.... if you read the text it says that must exhaust the card to use it. Then at the beginning of the next turn the card refreshes and you can use it again. you can't intel officer multiple times from the same ship. Far too OP if you could.
I have seen people use Ackbar wrong as well.. using him for front Arcs.... it states pretty clearly only Port and Starboard sides, and you must announce.
Turbolaser Reroute Circuits + Admiral Ackbar + Corvette A's = death by a thousand cuts, pretty fun list with consistent damage output at range 3 and with the speed and maneuvrablility of the corvettes it's easy to stay out of those nasty front arcs and circle your opposition like a pack of wolves. Bring an Assault Frigate with X17's and Electronic Counter Measures (Can't stress how essential this card is!) for backup. If they go for the corvettes simply split, if they take the bait and go for the assault frigate they're ignoring the real threat which is the corvettes getting around into their rear arcs. Also if you want to run the Neb B - use either Yavaris as a way to make B-wings absolutely terrifying (shoot twice!) or bring Salvation and point it at the thing you want dead, brilliant 'sniper' ship. Add Turbolaser reroute circuits to change those blank reds into double hits.
It's a shame that you dont make these videos much anymore (that I could see from your videos list), because you've got the best format for this sort of stuff that I've seen. Been itching to get into this game since I bought the core set almost a year ago... but none of my friends are interested in playing with me (and the ones who are we just always seem to miss each other with other engagements and whatnot). Like, despite how expensive the game can be, I'm more than happy to spend the money but there's not much point if I can't USE them. ;~;
They have FAQ the precision strike objective. Squadrons do not get extra dice for attacking objective ships, only ships attacking the objective ship get an extra dice.
Bands of Mesch It's understandable to a degree. What really explains it is the Advanced Projectors upgrade. It explains that it's pulling energy from multiple sources to reinforce that side
+Doney898 Well of course, I mean it kind of depends on how you view the shields in star wars. If you view them as I did, they go down when the respective shield generator overheats/overclocks. This would explain why they can just add more power to the shield when it's up to make it stronger, yet at one point brakes. This would most likely be due to the shield generator it self, as I said, overheating. Now if this is not the case in Star Strumps. Well, then I stand corrected.
Umm I thought getting line of sight to side hull you have to measure from the Dot to the dot of the hull zone. If you cross the line then you would have to go to front hull not side.
You can take two shots from one ship to another as long as they come from different arcs, I noticed you guys were constantly only shooting once when you had two arcs capable of firing.
Alot of mistakes but we all make mistakes just wanted you to know a few I have seen so far 15 mins in... 11:54 13:24 Brace: "After the damage is totaled, the defender reduces the total to half, rounded up." meaning a 5 damage would actually be a 2 damage when a player uses a defensive brace. 5/2 rounded up = 3....5-3 = 2 -------------------------------- 14:35 Line of Sight: To see if you have Line of Sight to an enemy hull zone, you draw an imaginary line from your yellow dot to the target zone's yellow dot (p.19) After determining LoS you determine firing arc Firing Arc: You can only fire at stuff inside your arc (p.8) . I think the rulebook dropped the ball on LoS because it should have explained it first, before firing arc. ----------------------------- 42:03 Player rolled a crit and a hit, your brace cancels a hit not a crit, so that means you would have taken a face up damage had you not had a shield (just mentioning just in case this ever happens and you have no shield). 50:00 is a Prime example of the above rule. ---------------------------------------- After watching the whole thing, I think I would have just replayed/refilmed a completely new game. =)
>half, rounded up." meaning a 5 damage would actually be a 2 damage when a >player uses a defensive brace. 5/2 rounded up = 3....5-3 = 2 Half of 5 is 2.5. 2.5 rounded up is 3. There is no subtraction involved, so I'm not sure where you're coming up with 2. Secondly, they are correct on their use of LoS, at least in your example. LoS is determined with the yellow dot and is used for obstruction checking only. If any part of the arc can draw a line to that side, then it's within it's firing arc. Also, some mistakes being made do not mandate replaying an entirely new game. Unless you just want to play more.
WRONG...call Fantasy Flight and ask them like I did, and see who is right or wrong I can tell you with 100% certainty that you are. I honestly for the life of me do not see how people get this rule so confused. After the damage is totaled (5) the defender reduces the total to half (2.5) ,rounded up....... 2.5 rounded up = 3 Just using sentence structure the rounded up is in reference to what was before the comma, not what was at the start of the sentence. After the damage is totaled, "rounded up"...does that make any sense to you? The defender reduces the total to half, "rounded up"...or does this?? And YES a 1 halved and rounded up = 0, it makes absolutely no sense to have a defensive ability that you can not use, it is mind numbing how people get this simple rule soo wrong. AND LOS you are wrong as well (that is because I forgot to type the second half of the rule, that is my fault), if your LOS passes through any other hall zone you do not have LoS. So seeing how he passed through another hall zone after tracing an invisible line to the dots, that makes his shot a invalid shot.
It makes perfect sense. Preventing the ability from reducing damage below 1 is a way to limit its effectiveness. I, honestly, cannot grasp how you're coming to that conclusion. I have to assume it is misunderstanding the wording. This is the exact wording for Brace in the booklet: "After the damage is totaled, the defender reduces the total to half, rounded up." In English, the phrase "reduce the total to half" means to divide by two. 5 divided by 2 is 2.5. In English, the phrase "rounded up" specifically means you move the result to the next highest whole number, which is 3. That's it. There's nothing else. Therefor damage cannot be reduced below 1. 1 becomes 1. 5 becomes 3. 6 becomes 3. 7 becomes 4. Etc. As for LOS, it appears you're right, the line of sight ruling was invalid: he should have used the dot instead of the random section of the arc. It might have still be within LOS though.
WRONG!!! If you want to play the game the incorrect way, that is your choice, by all means play it however way it seems enjoyable to you. If you want to play it the correct way or want to be educated who is right or wrong by all means call Fantasy Flight (like I did) and have them explain it to you. OMG will try to explain this damn simple ass sentence one more time. WHERE DOES IT SAY TOTAL THE FREAKING DAMAGE???????? "After the damage is totaled, the defender reduces the total to half, rounded up." At the front? ""After the damage is TOTALED"" Now what do you do? "the defender reduces the total to half, rounded up." Yes, reduced to half rounded up, NOT just half but also any .5 turns into another full reduction point. You do realize after using brace you flip it correct? That is what limits brace's effectiveness, NOT saying I hit you for 1 point of damage and you can not do anything about it...that is just silly as hell and pointless. If you are STILL confused have any English teacher read the freaking sentence and see what they tell you the rule says, OR CALL FANTASY FLIGHT because that sentence seems to be blowing your mind, because I am done trying to explain the easiest of sentences.
To the angry and frustrated person. Sorry to make you more frustrated, but you are interpreting Brace incorrectly. The value you have after using Brace is the damage you take and not what you reduce the damage by. So 5 damage becomes 3 damage. Fantasy Flight must have misunderstood how you were explaining the question and agreed when they should have said no. Where you polite when you were talking to fantasy flight? In these posts you come off as very rude and pushy. They may have just agreed with you to get you off the phone. Test your definition with others and fantasy flight again
Line of sight is measured from the yellow dots not the arcs. So the side to side shot was illegal
At time 15:06
oh yeah, I saw that as well. Good observation!
gee, it's hard to watch the rest of the match because of that. That shot was completely illegal and he did an awesome roll ahah
I also saw it and immediately added a comment, then deleted it lol. They also seem to be getting the normal firing rules mixed up with gunnery team. I saw a lot of passed second shots on the same ship.
aye, you can still use normal firing rules with gunnery team if you have a good double arc.
1:24 mon motha ? Do these guys know what they are talking about?
It's Admiral Motti who gets choked by Vader. You had it the first time. Great game to watch!

I've been going through the Armada videos on this channel and....do the Rebels ever win? Is this game massively un-balanced?
Do you guys ever fight it out to the end/surrender? i hate leaving games "hanging".
@15:00 no way side into side.
They have FAQ the precision strike objective. Squadrons do not get extra dice for attacking objective ships, only ships attacking the objective ship get an extra dice.
Can you really redirect if the side taking the hits have no shields? Doesn't really make sense, but what do the rules say?
It's assumed the generators on the side being transferred to divert their power to the side taking the hit
Doney898 Seems like that should be obvious to most people. I feel more shame for humanity due to you having to answer such a question.
Bands of Mesch It's understandable to a degree. What really explains it is the Advanced Projectors upgrade. It explains that it's pulling energy from multiple sources to reinforce that side

48:58 stupid move. The corvettes should have ganged up on the gladiator isnstead
LOL I JUST REALIZED WHEN I CLICKED YOUR SUB BUTTON IT WAS 269 :)
Why do y'all start the rebel ships at speed 3?? All ships are supposed to begin at speed 2 regardless.
Nope. All ships start at speed 2 only in the tutorial. Your ships start at the speed you want (for example 0, 1 or 2 for a MC80).
Can't start at speed 0 sadly. Has to be on their movement chart
So many illegal moves were made in this game, it was actually difficult to watch.
For the empire
