I disagree about the conclusion about YTP being a version of Dada Art stylism. Dada was a rebellious movement in art, YTP is congruent. YTP is a representative of out of context Meme culture. Memes are just relatable life moments. YTP is a gas huffer on acid explaining what life is as a Meme. It's Looney Tunes on crack.
I actually used to make TH-cam poops, which mostly just took an episode of the show, and I parodied it, altering the plot slightly. I'm still proud of those videos, even now, but I won't deny that they were not in spirit with what TH-camPoop videos stood for

I made a couple of Zelda CD-I and G.I. Joe YTP's back as a teenager. If I recall correctly, I was simply inspired by other people's YTP's and mirrored their style. I think the draw to us amateur animators who create these things is the chance to surprise people, to squeeze out some new jokes by using old jokes, and hopefully we'll make someone laugh as hard as we did when we first died laughing at a YTP ourselves. It's the same thing with GMod/SFM videos. It's all about sharing the laugh. Speaking of sharing: Favorite YTP: "Simba and Nala Go To White Castle" Favorite GMod: "Who's Cooking Tonight?"
