  • Several hundred people joined the royals at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg to pay their respects for the Grand Duke who died last month at the age of 98. Jean-Marie Cottong, 43, said she remembered him 'for his politeness and kindness' and for his role in the liberation of the country at the end of World War II. The grand duke served in the British army, taking part in the D-Day landings and then the advance into Luxembourg. Royals in attendance included Princess Anne, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, and Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

Nice old boy. I lived in Vichten for seven years - just up the road from his country estate. He used to ride behind the Queen at the trooping of the colour each year.

The Princess Royal (Anne) with Lady Elizabeth Shackerley (now lady-in-waiting to Queen Camilla) can be seen arriving at 0:18 with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Countess Mountbatten behind them. At 0:16 we see ex-Queen (now Princess) Beatrix accompanied by a smartly dressed Dutch ADC.

Lady Elizabeth Shakerley (1941-2020) was never a lady in waiting… You may be thinking of her sister in law Lady Leonora Countess of Lichfield who is one of Princess Anne’s ladies in waiting

Princess Alexandra. She has polymyalgia rheumatica, a nasty form of arthritis that is treated with steroids, which can distort the face. At 84, age is not always kind.

No, it’s that’s not Princess Alexandra, it’s the late Lady Elizabeth Shakerley. Behind them are the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester and Penelope, Countess Mountbatten of Burma. If you look at photos of Princess Alexandra from 2019, 2020 and this year you will see there is nothing wrong with her face.

Quelque chose ne va pas avec le titre de la vidéo, Mr Nicola Sarkozy et Mr Jean Claude Junker ne sont pas de la royauté !

The first one who appears on this video, Sarkozy, is not a royal. On the contrary. No one could be more common than him.
