- Can Ash Ketchum Beat the Battle Frontier?
The battle frontier is one of the few challenges Ash Ketchum was able to overcome in this 20+ years as a 10 year old.
Basically, he returned to Kanto to find and defeat seven frontier "brains" winning symbols along the way. Its similar to a typical gym leader challenge, though there is not league tournament for ash to lose in.
Anyway, I decided to play through this ROM Hack which follows the anime's version of the battle frontier quite well, to see if ash should have been able to win using the pokemon that he did. Lets find out!

1) Play as Ash
2) Match His team for major battles
3) No Items In Battle

Agatha’s next line was “how could you forgot a thing like that” or something like that. I thought it was pretty funny, but didn’t want to use anime scenes that are too long

Pretty entertaining video, though it was shorter than expected, I enjoyed your episode title puns. Looking forward to the Sinnoh chapter.
Yeah the other episodes in the series tended to be a bit longer, but this Rom hack is fairly short so I didn’t feel like stretching it longer than necessary

First comment or at least I think, kinda funny how ash could've won most of his battles if the plot didn't need him to lose or just was smarter on which pokemon he brought
Yeah the anime can get weird with trying to find ways for ash to lose. The worst example is probably the sinnoh league.

TBH, I hadn't planned on it. I did really enjoy it and thought it was super unique, but the views just weren't there for it. Maybe I could try it again in Hoenn at some point, we'll see.

doesn't electvire have moter drive as an abilty?
He does, but this rom hack was based on gen 3, so even though they put in an electivre sprite, it looks like they didnt make the motor drive ability, since it didnt exist yet.

He had 24 badges, participated in 3 (maybe 4) championships, travelled through the Orange Islands, and yet forgot one of the most basic type immunities in the entire series.
Ash really is just dumb
What about an orange island adventure? There is orange island adventure, orange island and pokemon ash orange as rom hack.
Yeah I didn't think about it at the time, because that was the start of my ash series. I do plan on going back to do it, but I might just do ash gray which I believe has the orange islands too.
@@NuzlockeJoe in Ash grey orange island is not complete. Orange island adventure is the completed hack because I have played them both. Anyhow, best of luck with the series 🙂

I'm quite amused seeing the shortened names for the leaders- "Ftier Brain". Ash truly is a moron with how often he throws away or boxes his best pokemon, or actively sabotages himself. I wonder if it's on purpose and he hates himself or thinks he shouldn't get to win for some reason

The current plan is to have it out next Month. The run is complete, but putting in all the anime scenes I want to and all takes some time.
@@NuzlockeJoe I definitely understand. I'm actually my own video series based on the anime, with custom sprites. But it'll be quite difficult from yours so I'll definitely let you know when I'm ready to upload it.
