    Who owns a car like that and doesn't drive it? Took him several seconds to open the hood like he didn't know how. He's just an investor, not a Mustang lover and that engine sounded just terrible. Something was off. Beautiful looking though.

      It has the old style bendix probably. Those rockers are above 25000” valve lash it is clacking to much even for a solid lift.

    ‘65-‘66 Shelby were the purest of the Shelby’s. After 1966, the cars were more about form than substance. The ‘65 Shelby 350 actually raced at Le Mans in its GT category (#17 Shelby broke 5 hrs. into the legendary race due to the transmission box - weak aluminum box broke. Private racing group should have raced Le Mans with a steel transmission box). No other Shelby had that kind of racing pedigree after 1966. Just comfy cars for the masses (slush box, fake / non functional air scoops, softer suspension, more bling bling exterior colors, etc).

    • @dallasharris8753

      At first, Shelby's solution was to fit the battery with caps and hoses that forced the fumes out through holes in the bottom of the trunk. However, eventually, the battery was simply moved into the engine compartment.

      What? Why is that then Lou? Because I criticised the fact that the engine was running in a bad way? A way that could result in serious damage all because some Jockey can’t be arsed to look after a rare valuable car.
      Didn’t think you would be the type to condone such behaviour and go all Snowflake over facts

    • @normanjones5167

      The 65 had the control arms lowered if you look at the shock towers on the bottom they left the original holes from the factory where they lowered them thus giving the car the rake or high rear end you notice

    • @JackF99
      @JackF99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normanjones5167 Yeah good point. I actually did that to my '69 500 because it handled like a tank. Also added lowering blocks to the rear to bring it back to level and a rear sway bar. That stuff helped but it ended my interest in cast iron big blocks in Pony cars! I have assumed the '65-'66 used de-arched leaf springs or shorter shackles to compensate for the control arm move but perhaps not.

    I was bummed when I found out that the 350 is the number of steps that Shelby used take to the production floor. I thought it was horsepower. GT500. Yup 500 steps. Took the twinkle out of my eye. Great cars but I lost a little respect for the 350 and the 500.
