Yes indeed you can, as long as it hasn't been shunted away from a platform. It's a single driving trailer as I'm sure you're aware and won't ever be hauled/move with passengers aboard again though. But it's still nice to have an example preserved of course. Also on a side note I do hope they have finally removed those awful dystopian (and unnecessary) distancing stickers that the last TOC put up 🤮🤡😂
Most of the Class 317s have gone for scrap. If the Class 317 weren’t going for scrap then perhaps they should of gone to ScotRail to increase more capacity on the Glasgow suburban services.
Most of them were reported by maintenance teams to be 'rust buckets' and difficult to keep in service. The body and chassis and motors basically being life expired. It's a shame that what replaced them (720) is so inadequate but unfortunately the 317's were past it.
@@Faulty720 I don’t mind the 720s but the older generation of trains I really love. I am like you in that I wanted to be there for the last official day… even if they do make a few more appearances as cover for breakdowns etc
You can go in one in the east anglia railway museum in Colchester

Brilliant catch! I had a great day riding and chasing this pair!
Thanks 😁 They'll probably be out again no doubt covering for a failed 745/720 but was nice to get the last official departure.
Anything beats a 720 😂
