Repost from Optimore 3 years ago. (at the original post date of this comment) Okay, so I'm a fan of Whitey, see all these comments about a vinesauce meme related to this? I check it out, see Terminal 7. Figure out the weirdness that is that game. Puzzle at the collective mental health of the fandom, right? "Who does this?" Then I realize this song is the seventh song of the album "Seven", and that's why it's the credits song. But yet this song is so amazingly consistent in both tone and content with the end of the game. It's like a double-triple symbolic relation. And Whitey's my favorite artist! Is this a bizarre series of coincidences, or what?
Oh, hey! Man, it's hard to digest that Terminal 7 happened 3 whole years ago. Also, double-triple symbolic relation? What was I thinking...? As a side-note, this song, in addition to being the seventh song of Seven, is also the final song if you play them in order. So, in other words... it's the Terminal song of Seven.
Man am I glad your music exists. From hearing it on GTAIV to binging every album back to back on a road trip. Couldn’t have been where I am without your music.
how does this song manage to take my breath away, every single time? i've listened to this song, amongst many other Whitey songs, for years and years, literally hundreds of times over by now. yet, every time, this particular song pulls me in like nothing else. and i can't explain it - not through my inadequate knowledge of musical techniques or my understanding of the scenario this song covers. i've got a stupid amount of songs on spotify, and i'd be lying if i said that i don't skip through half of them. but when a whitey song comes on? when the stars align and the 0.01% chance of a whitey song happens? when the lights go out? it's like nothing else. I can't stop thinking about this song. It makes me feel that inexplicable sense of immersion that I hardly ever feel anymore. If only for four and a half minutes at a time, I am at the mercy of the entrancing melody. I've said it before and I will say it again, hearing this song play after every other song in the album - hearing it play as the final credits theme of SEVEN - hearing such a raw display of emotion, so undiluted as to bring me to tears every time I hear it... It takes my breath away. It makes my extremities go numb. It makes me feel more alive than ever. It's like nothing else.
@@jotade2098 man i've heard every single one (almost) it's insane how much whitey's music has varied... back in Great Shakes, it was so much more violent, aggressive and raw. then, Canned Laughter is... jazzy, fun and a lot more reserved. then SEVEN manages to be even more entrancing and engaging than ever! out of nowhere, NTWIKM features orchestral... dance? what! now we have the three Lost Songs albums, bringing together years of varying musical styles and genres into conglomerations of a music career well earned. overall, whitey's music is so unique and i'm overjoyed that his skills are still important to a few people.

The line in this song "Try to remember when it fell down" actually really fits Terminal 7's theme, because this song is played right after Luigi remembers when he got Terminal 7
AND KEEP IT THAT WAY. More views my ass. Popularity ruins everything and there already enough tools coming here from inane content creators as it is. I never understand why popularity is somehow an obligatory part of good things.
I, like many, learned of this song through Vinesauce. But it's stuck with me throughout the years, and has grown to mean a lot to me. All too often, people turn out to be completely different from what you expect. From what you trust. The betrayal that people put you through, the sadness of knowing that you'd never do the same back to them, and how they didn't care about as much as you cared about them. And ultimately, the pure bitterness that it all leads to. No other song matches the feeling.
So who would win: Astro soup fans or Terminal 7 fans? What wrong with you, people? Whitey isn't «One hit wonder», he made so many great songs, but you only see game/TV series introduced tracks. And is that 'When the Light WENT Out' or ' When the Light GO Out'?
@@balor2427 Well, to be honest, me too. As I know, Whitey was in GT5 (PAL) actually. I meant a lot of people know Whitey as a composer of Wrap it Up and Stay on the Outside. It feels like they don't know anymore tracks and that's sad.
@@the_degon When I first decided to check Whitey out years ago, after hearing In the Limelight so much on the game, Wrap it up and Stay on the Outside were the first I heard because they were the most viewed on TH-cam lmao. And the rest is history, he's been my favourite artist for years.
I had heard Stay on the Outside on Breaking Bad, thought it was cool, didn't think much else of it. It wasn't until Terminal 7 I actually cared about Whitey's work. I proceeded to buy what I could before he went dark and have been re-buying his re-releases on Bandcamp. Homie has good production abilities. I find it somewhat ironic that he raised such hell back in the UK over companies using his music without licensing; and yet for many of us, it was an unauthorized, unlicensed use of this very song that pulled him back into the limelight after what appeared to be a self-imposed exile. To the people who say Whitey is a one hit wonder because of a meme song, you obviously have not listened to his body of work. He actually has talent as opposed to say, White Town, who is a one hit wonder. He has some great songs and he's been licensed a lot more than Terminal 7 or Breaking Bad. If he ever tours the states, I will see him and drag as many people as I can with. No More Right or Wrong is my favorite track of his.
If Terminal 7 didn't exist, I would probably think "Oh, just another vanilla rock song." but now this song is such an emotional banger for me because it has such a devastatingly sad backstory with Luigi's Brain Cancer. Every time I hear it, I think about the psychological horror that is Terminal 7.
It's true. Until the end of time, as long as there's a comments section for anything vaguely relating to this song will be filled with Terminal 7 references. I am not disappointed.
