Thank you. Good information on how a sand blaster success varies based on the air pressure. I have a small compressor and frustrated with results. You explained it as PSI not consistent. I will try it again and lower expectation. Slower paced.
I'm getting ready to either sand blast or acid dip then E coat. It's $275 to sand blast, or 1100 to E coat. I'm thinking that even though more expensive, it will get inside the frame and seal it for a very long time, every nook and cranny.
Hi Lutz, it's difficult to see much of the inside of the frame and even more difficult to do anything about. I used Eastman's rust inhibitor to coat the inside, which gets applied via a long tube and nozzle which you pull through holes in the frame. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike
@@mikelandwehr-corvette Thanx for the quick answer! 😃 And please excuse my bad english… ✌🏼 My expection is to do the same sometimes on my Corvette and think about removing permernantly the rust inside the frame… Or maybe seeking for a new one? My Vette is in original Condition and it‘s still my dreamcar for over 30 years… Is your project completed? Another greetz and thank you! 👍🏼 Lutz
@@Avenarius2906 No, not finished yet. I'm actually planning to drop the body back onto the frame this weekend. Then after dealing with some door gap issues, I'll be sending it out for a new paint job. Once it comes back, I'll reinstall the interior. I'm hoping to have the project done in June 2022 and drive the car on its 50th birthday. Good luck with your project!
@@mikelandwehr-corvette Thanx again and good luck for your project! 🍀😃 Have you put wax or fat inside the frame against new rust? My Corvette is in driving condition and i have to save money for restauration… ✌🏼 Fine, that people like you preserve C3 Vettes! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German. :-////()(

It really takes a lot of air JM. A typical portable/garage type compressor isn't going to cut it. Good luck with your project!
The frame looks awesome and the sand goes a great job. 👍
Great project, absolutely beautiful car year🇺🇸👍

Great job! Keep up the great work!
Nice 👍
Great job!
Great Job! 👍🏼
How do you clean the inside of the frame and check the condition?
