For Honor is an action game developed and published by Ubisoft. The game allows players to play the roles of historical forms of soldiers and warriors such as knights, samurai, vikings, wu lin and now an outlander faction. For Honor is constantly being updates with new heroes, new executions/finishers, new emotes, new effects and hero reworks/nerfs/buffs. For Honor has 35 heroes available across all factions:

The fact that people hate on this character when he does basically no damage and has basically no mix ups and the only good thing he has is a gimmick is insane

Back in the days Shugoki's hug was a one shot,had hyper armor and it was quite easy to access. If you get GB twice in a row,you deserve the 95 damage

@@super91ful nerf grab to 50 dmg, buff all other attacks with 1-3 dmg, make grab light parry and wall splat only, that is what i would do personally it would be more enjoyable to play and less annoying to fight against IMO
@@ezyeez4599he’s not hard to fight just stop going for parries and just block. The hard Sohei are the ones who don’t care about the 95dmg and play like he doesn’t have it ..Everyone else is easy to read because they all want a GB

@@ezyeez4599true, idk about nerfing the damage of his nuke. But I do think it should only be confirmed off a light parry or wallsplat. I do think they should buff his general damage a little bit too. He's extremely hard to play if your opponent actually knows how to deal with him.
Jondaliner made a good point about Sohei in one of his videos, where he basically broke it down to Sohei needing 3 bad reads ( 2GBs and a successfull bash) by your opponent to win a battle, and thats only if literally everything works in his favor. There's already plenty of champions in this game that have a similar ttk with 3 or more bad reads

In an earlier Misty video he made 7 bad reads against a Berserker and still won the fight off of the 4 bad reads the Berserker made.
No other character in this game gets that much guaranteed damage off of 3 bad reads.
3 bad reads against Sohei and he kills you, 3 bad reads against top tiers and you lose at most 3/4s of your hp.
Sohei sucks but that doesn't matter when his gimmick is as unbalanced as it is, the gimmick wouldn't even be necessary if his kit wasn't garbage, the Devs just really wanted this gimmick so they made him as garbage as possible while giving him a broken ass ability. He's an awfully designed character that already needs a rework.

Characters like Kensei would easily kill you with 3 bad reads on his top heavy tho
Imo only 1 GB is necessary and a parry to get all your charges in a single fight. Any hit after a parry guantees a charge so one heavy parry guantees 1 light charge but can lead to 2.

It's textbook noob-stomper design, which is terrible design because at high ELO people will struggle to compete and barely pick him and in lower skill lobbies he will be easy mode, feeling terribly lame to win with and to lose against. Basically the worst of both worlds and Ubisoft are proving they don't know shit about game design.
@@gibbygibbstein7858bro Sohei does basically no damage besides his special and even than getting it now is quite tough lol. When I fight him I just block all his lights and heavies without going for parries on cancellable attacks. Then people fall into a pit because he has no kit. And not many good openers When I play him people purposefully choose to not react because eating his low damage attacks is far better than going for punishes on anything other than lights. Sohei is weak in this meta of forcing people to react he just doesn’t have that edge
Sometimes I purposely do a gamble on heavy parries by going for UB punish to GB. It's fun

I've been thinking that since Sohei came out - he should have his 95 dmg reduced and his regular light/heavy dmg increased, Imo he'd be balanced this way, with more viable and better rewarded options also.

@@Rage3511not really cap, Sohei barely does any damage and moves as slow as Shugoki which is fine because he’s a heavy character. But Shugoki has his headbutt, hug and easily accessible unblockable to compensate. But Sohei’s entire character is his gimmick outside of that he’s horrible.
If anything he needs a buff.

Literally only "nerf" he needs is not gaining souls from minions, aside from that this old man could stand to do a little more damage tbh. And maybe *maaybe* reduce the soul punish so it doesnt just nuke assassins. But if you really think about it 2 guard breaks from any hero would reduce your hp by at least half.
I think sohei is overall very balanced, but what I would like to see is if he could throw partway through his gb combo (like centurions pommel into throw), and make it so that his bash is not guaranteed on heavy parries. I think confirming off a light patty is fine but it feels really bad losing 2/3 of your health bc you got heavy parried

Definitely , plus I really don't understand peoples issue with him. He's got extremely slow heavies , can only chain either heavys or lights, can't chain from heavy to light or vice versa , his overall damage is low as hell.
He's balanced as hell. If anything he's underpowered. The only balancing I think they should do is remove the bash confirm on heavys. Should only confirm on lights or wallsplats. Other then that it's perfectly fine. Maybe add a little buff to the overall damage numbers too
@@edot7266 I kind of agree with you a little bit but on the confirmed heavies bash it’s so hard to get there that it’s almost a reward for all the 💩 you have to go thru to get it.if you have to also fish for a light parry you’ll end up dead. Besides by the time you get all your souls, your enemies, one heavy way from a finisher anyway, so it doesn’t really matter (in duels at least).
Way to fix Sohei - reduce 6 soul charged attack to 60dmg base, up light damage to 10 for openers & 13 for finishers, up heavy openers to 20dmg & finishers to 24dmg, add hyper armor to heavy openers. Fixed.
Bro he’s not broken he’s actually terrible and the only thing he has going for him is his one shot. He’s not even the only character with a one shot move
@@smok0478No, he is the only character with a one-shot that isn't even a true one-shot since even Assassins can survive it if they are at full health. Granted they will be one-shot after but they still survive.
There have been very few One-shots. Shugoki and his old hug and Warden when he had that falling attack exploit on GB.

From what I can tell Sohei is kinda crazy in 1v1s but it any situation besides that his low damage makes it hard for him to be viable. To be honest it is kinda unfair how only two guard breaks basically guarantee death. People then say “just don’t get guard broke twice.” If only it was that simple to be able to predict whether someone will feint or not. For a long time a someone decent portion of gameplay in for honor is just a guessing game on whether your opponent will feint their unblockable and gb or let it fly.
Honestly he is quite fair... they really don't need to nerf it. He's almost impossible to get stacks with in any other game mode

This is the only hero I can consistently light parry, it is so easy to count their stacks. Sohei is fun to look at from afar, but he's ULTRA dookie, just as that Shaolin lol.

Thoughts on the new legend I do see he maybe can be fun due to his power but I think he got to much health and u go online and everyone just light spams to get it and I'm not that gd that I can light parry in demand 😅

He doesn’t do a lot of damage. But you have to tear through so much health to defeat him. And the entire time you have to pray you don’t get GBd twice, cuz if you do he gets a insta kill on a 300 ms bash. His kit is very cool but also very boring and lame at the same time

im not sure how people don't like this character... he hits like a wet noodle.. his finisher is basically just doing all the damage he would've done earlier in the game anyway.
The thing i dont like about sohei is his kit punishes you in team modes for not ganking him if your teammate is not good at fighting him. Cause hell turn around with the nuke ready and your at like half health
I mean yeah, you should be ganking in team modes. Not wanting to feed revenge is different, but if your teammate is going to die you should try to step in anyway.

He does have hyper armor 😂 and he's a mid to high skill character. Misty is good so he gets the soles faster. As for me, when I get a GB I do the heavy's then I do the light chain or GB then I fake out a bash, hope they fall for it, then land the followup bash and get that sweet 95 dmg

He needs a buff to normal attacks and a nerf to his 90 fuckin damage attack.
While his 90 damage special is annoying to get hit with, it is still fine to play against since he has to land a bash to get it. A slow bash that cannot be feinted and is very telegraphed. The attack is the only thing stopping him from being just pure garbage.
@@QuaversYTWhat do you mean telegraphed? It's confirmed off his forward dodge bash. Which is unreactable, like every other unchargeable forward dodge bash in the game currently. You have to read and dodge when you see him dodge forward, you can't actually react to the bash itself, so he can always mix you up with a gb or dodge attack parry.
Because of how fast it is it's also guaranteed on both light and heavy parry, or wallsplat if timed correctly. It's not hard to land at all. I'm not saying it's broken or anything, but it's unbelievably good.
Maybe making stacks desappear after a short while or having some counter play to remove stacks, could make it feel better to fight a sohei, they should also reduce the damage to a 50 hit attack, that would make it less of a one shot but still enough to be a fight ender, after that you compensate (if he feels too weak) with a increase damage buff depending on how many stacks, an example would be at 0 he barely deals damage, at 3-4 he deals slightly less than an average hero and at 5-6 he would have decent damage. I dont actually know if that would fix him but just giving my opinion.
He's not broken is a pain to get the stacks and when you do his finishing move, it is all the damage he would've done with normal damage values put into one move
I believe that the sohei is balanced cuz have all the stacks is not easy if you are playing against someone good

Imo aramusha is a better Sohei he’s insanely fast for the damage he does and in three hits he’s done over the Sohei nuke and you have to work less for it Sohei had a cool concept but was just executed badly

I usually give new heroes the benefit of the doubt but this guy seems to be really bad with a touch of death. It really feels like the devs are trying to make us mad at each other
Maybe if they lower the damage of the gimmick than they could buff the rest of his damage? Maybe increase his damage for attacking with the side that is already empowered by a soul? Make him a hero that gets stronger the longer he is alive in combat rather than praying for bad reads.
A pretty funny character, does fine in ones and ganks but man’s struggled in anti gank and team fights. Still love him tho, mans reminds me of day one shugo
I swear if they just made it so that you get like 2 souls per gb decreased the damage to 50-75 base (so still like 80-100 with buffs and debuffs) and increased his overall damage to that of shamans (regular character damage with his tier 3 working) or added a light->heavy, heavy->light chains a lot more people would enjoy both fighting him and playing him

I don’t hate him. But I don’t enjoy fighting him either. His playstyle is honestly boring imo. And most players I run into especially in duels just light spam. I have never said this in my life playing this game. Whether I win or lose fighting him is pretty boring.

Sohei is garbage, yes, but that doesn't make the 95 damage bash justified. Other characters do similar damage to Sohei but dont have 1 shots because their kits make up for it, the Devs just took the laziest possible route with this character by making him garbage, and then giving him his gimmick.
I see a lot of people saying other characters do similar damage in 3 bad reads but there's only a couple of other characters at best that do that much damage, people just dont complain about them because it doesnt feel cheap.
In an earlier Sohei video you made you fought a berserker in which you made 7 bad reads, had 1 hp, got completely stomped tbh, and still won the fight because the berserker made 4 bad reads, despite the fact the berserker quite frankly beat your ass and had like 80 more hp than you.
That is cheap garbage and its not fun to play against, Sohei is incredibly oppressive when he has his souls because you literally cant afford anything, you cant afford getting GB'd, you cant afford getting parried at all, all you can do is sit there and play defensively because if you dont you lose.
That's not fun to fight against at all.
Sohei needs a complete rework, he can keep the gimmick but it needs to be toned down in favor of making the rest of his kit better, keep his damage the same on the rest of his attacks but give him the ability to perfkrm mixups and more utility.
Sohei is garbage, but that doesn't mean he's "fine." An unhealthy mechanic is still an unhealthy mechanic no matter how garbage the character is that it's attached to. 🤷♂️
Lmao his stacks aren't easy to get and when compared to other characters it's completely fair his 95 damage nuke isn't easy and if you count his stacks it's a free light parry stop whining
